The Goring Dining Room
Bathed in natural light by day, or sumptuously aglow with custom Swarowski chandeliers at night, this restaurant has a special ambience to accompany the fine cuisine. Alongside an extensive wine and Champagne menu carefully selected by the Head Sommelier, the Bar & Lounge offers an irresistible cocktail list.
With a menu that boasts Romney Marsh lamb, glazed lobster omelette, Scottish halibut and Beef Wellington, The Dining Room offers inspiring, delectable British cuisine and an indulgent dessert menu to suitably round off lunch or dinner.

My favourite lunch time venue in London - elegant, unobtrusive service and first class ambience.
4 breakfasts at the hotel!
Have eaten here many times in the past but this was the first under its new guise. It didn’t disappoint. A genuinely flawless experience all round. Food is actually quite innovative without feeling contrived. Professional service standards amongst the best anywhere. A beautiful room and well spaced, comfortable seating. Will definitely be returning.
I was disappointed by the snobbishness of the service, i.e., in view of the price tag attached to the beautifully presented but only slightly above average food. I had a good mushroom risotto, very common john dory, and to die for lemon pudding and ice-cream. Since the main dish is THE main, I rate my experience based on that. My guests had a greasy lobster omelette and very ordinary beef roast, for mains. Sorry, Goring dining room, but you need to improve on impartial treatment of customers and main dishes. In this order. Thank you.
What a beautiful place, top marks from start to finish.
Excellent service, we were late for our seating, however they made a way to serve us and after we ordered we were not rushed out at all, food size waa small but very filling and tasty .
Another wonderful lunch at this most discreet, restaurant. Superb service and food.
Went on recommendation from website. The restaurant was beautiful and the service was excellent. I was a little disappointed in the meal. I had a three course meal. While the food was prepared to perfection, the portion sizes were very small, I was still hungry when I left. At 75 British Pounds I would expect a little more
My mother was visiting and I had booked a few places to visit to ensure she had a good trip. We had an absolutely disastrous dinner at Wright Brothers the previous evening, embarrassingly awful so I was hoping The Goring would erase those memories and wow did it. The hotel and dining room are beautiful, the service was second to none and the food excellent. From the moment we arrived we were looked after by the staff who were friendly, informative and attentive but discreet. The tables are nicely spaced and formally laid out with sparkling glassware and crisp white tablecloths. The lunch is remarkable value for the quality of the food. Starters of truffle risotto and foie gras were both delicious, attractive and full of flavour. Rack of lamb was perfectly cooked and seasoned and paired with sweetbreads and nicely spiced aubergine. The cheese trolley was fantastic and had a lovely selection of British cheeses all perfectly kept. A lovely meal, that we will repeat.
What more can I say. I have been eating at the Goring for several years and each time I love it more. One of my favourite places. The food was excellent and the waiter was more than helpful. He was also able to tell us about the history of the Goring. One place I will never stop eating at. A bit on the expensive side but well worth the visit.
Our experience at The Goring was strange in as much the first two courses were superb. Excellently prepared and served, and tasted lovely. However, the dessert course was a totally different experience. We had lunch and our booking extended into the afternoon tea session and the waiting staff concentrated on this. Consequently we waited a good time to order our dessert and after three reminders we eventually received our dessert. Our order for coffee never did arrive. It was a shame that the service on the last course and coffee marred which would have been a great lunch. Furthermore, when we raised the issue with the maitre de, his only comment was that the afternoon tea was a "celebration".
A very poor excuse!
We had the set lunch menu which is relatively expensive but the food is of the highest quality using expensive ingredients. We had lovely truffle risotto as starter, John Dory with a champagne clam sauce for our mains followed by a wonderful Black Forest gateaux and Eton Mess. There were no canapés or pre desserts. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. We had a French Sauvignon Blanc with our meal which was reasonably priced. The service was acceptable although we did wait too long for our desserts. However, the restaurant itself was rather bland and half empty which was disappointing. We had to sit and have our desserts and coffees whilst setting up for the afternoon teas. We were not offered a cheese course either and felt as if we had to hurry to leave.
In london as english breakfast.
A true gem in the heart of London.
A very special place rarely seen these days.
They deserve a second Michelin without hesitation!
My first visit to the Goring, the food was superb. Service very good, in beautiful surroundings. The staff were very attentive to detail which made dining that even more special. i shall definitely go back there.
Excellent but limited menu Second time we were there and had a lovely dinner
In three weeks of traveling in Madrid, Porto and Lisbon, Portugal, and London, this was the best dinner my wife and I had.
We ordered new lamb in different types and preparations. Both were beautifully cooked, the garnishments spare to let the lamb carry the day. I splurged on foie gras; it disappeared on the tongue.
Our staff was nearby but never present; welcoming, knowledgeable, professional.
Great place for a quiet, un-rushed, business breakfast meeting.
We were staying in London for our wedding anniversary and decided to try The Goring Dining Room as it came recommended. I have to say that I've never sent food back to the kitchen twice but I had to do this at The Goring when they served poorly cooked lamb which was so tough that you couldn't get a knife to cut through it - obviously no-one was checking the quality of the cooking that evening. The waiter seemed bemused about the situation and had to refer to the maitre'd. Eventually it was rectified but the whole experience spoilt our evening and we declined further courses and we were just glad that we han't chosen to eat there on our actual anniversary. It was very disappointing.
Wonderful service and food,
Wine choices also perfect.
Great last night in London
Wonderful food. Open and bright dinning room. Service impeccable. Great offer from Open Table. Would recommend for a special occasion.
The Goring never disappoints, great food with wonderful service and ambience
First visit, was probably expecting something more, not sure what was missing, cant really put a finger on it. Service was fine, food was good ( waiter called gravy 'sauce' and needed much much more than the egg cup size we were given.) but overall ok. Cost as expected. Maybe dining room lacking in atmosphere, likewise the bar, had no background music which would have lifted the mood.
Quite formal and old school, but I like that. Also great for people watching
Fabulous Sunday lunch! Faultless service and excellent seasonal food. Highly recommend
Fantastic food, service and ambience. Our family party had a wonderful time and I’d definitely return.
The most perfect evening ! One to always remember !
I’ve been wanting to go for months and now I wonder why I’ve left it so long.
Thanks for the birthday complimentary cake.
Dinner here made my birthday special. Delicious food and attentive staff in a beautiful setting. A memorable evening!
Great lunch menu.
How things change over time. Not so long ago one would avoid eating in a London hotel restaurant - over priced, under-serviced and no taste. This past trip we ate only in hotel restaurants and while they were superb the clear standout was at The Goring. Everything about it was superb and we cannot wait to return. The highlight were the eggs Dumbkilbo!
Food was imaginative and delicious, if a little too rich for me. Decor was very elegant. Service was polite but slow. The wine was expensive and there is no flexibility around the set lunch menu: there is no ‘two-course’ option, which seems crazy to me for a lunchtime menu. Not everyone has the time required to eat three courses (plus coffee) at lunchtime, but they make you pay for it regardless
Went there for a special occasion with work colleagues . It was excellent and worth 5 stars
Service was fantastic, they really looked after us. Food was also lovely as always - had a wonderful evening
Best dinner we have ever had in London. This place is very posh and old school. The service was impeccable and every bite of our meals was scrumptious. I can’t wait to go back.
What a wonderful dinning experience. The food was amazing and the service was over the top fantastic. The Goring is a true British Gem!!!
Excellent experience start to finish.
