The former menu was better. The cauliflower dish ($30) was just a chunk of cauliflower not cooked very well, virtually raw in the center. The burgers are very sloppy. It was great, now it is overpriced and so so. The expensive items on the menu are ambitious, but the prior simpler menu was easier for them to properly execute. They had the best veggie burger in the city, now that is gone!
Great dinner, fantastic service.
Always excellent. A little pricier than before, but the quality of food and drink is so high that it feels worth it.
New chef. New menu. A little pricier. I miss the truffle fries and the bone marrow. The dishes were beautifully plated ... more emphasis on presentation. Steak tartare unusual but excellent... not the classic. The short rib ravioli were outstanding. Ceviche was a beautiful dish and delicious. Beet salad also gorgeous and very good. The ribeye was ample and tasty but served on a rimless cutting board so you need a napkin at the ready to keep the jus from running into your lap. A little sparse on the dessert front.. only two choices ... tried the blueberry cheesecake... just ok. Our server was sweet and attentive. I like this place.
Absolutely delicious. Will definitely be coming back again.
This was my 3rd time having dinner here and it is always excellent. The food is delicious and interesting. The service is friendly and professional.
We had a wonderful experience at The Grange. The Hostess was very thoughtful and perceptive. The wait staff was efficient but friendly without being intrusive. The food was creatively presented and tasted delicious .I would come back again and again. I will highly recommend The Grange to my family and friends.
the food was delicious and the drinks were tasty. a few dishes were a bit pricey considering the portion but overall it was a great experience and i will definitely return.
I really don't like to leave negative feedback but the new menu at The Grange is such a departure and disappointment from its pre pandemic life. I don't understand the menu at all, the food was not good, the flavors were bizarre, everything was trying too hard, the burgers were way over done with ingredients even the most basic, and the prices are insane for Hamilton Heights. Chicken is $30? Burgers are $20+? There was nothing to snack on except $7 fries if you're just wanted a quick bite. The service, although our waitress was doing amazing job trying to please us, was very very slow for the price point. I fear that the regulars will all come back exactly once and stop going. I loved this place and the food before and it's a sad day realizing it is going to remain a memory for most.
Food was fresh and well presented. Great cocktails too.
Indoor amd outdoor seating, a bit noisy as expected, given its locale.
Gourmet-class food, drinks, and service, consistently, with chef-shopper specials.
A repeat venue for us.
Tim, our waiter twice, a first-rate table host.
Lovely experience, the restaurant is beautiful. The cocktails were amazing and the waitress was nice and accommodating. The food was ok, the short ribs were too fatty and the short rib ravioli was to salty.
Very disappointing experience overall - not sure if this is a permanent problem.
One of my go-to spots in Hamilton Heights. perfect for a date night or a celebration.
Unfortunately, my chicken was raw and I had to send it back. It took a while to receive new chicken and my friends food got cold in the meantime.
The food was amazing and the experience was excellent. I will definitely be going back.
Amazing food. Lovely service. Excellent ambience. I live in the neighborhood and will be coming back often!
Love this place!
This place used to be fantastic and reasonably priced. I loved the oxtail pasta. New owners + chef have shrunk the menu and it doesn't have enough variation. What is on there is wildly overpriced. Tinest plate of ceviche I've ever seen. Mussels were good. Short rib was good. Carbonara was boring. Branzino was cooked perfectly but not much flavor. Wine selection is a bunch of $7 bottles going for $15 a glass. I'd go for the ambiance to have a drink and one of the small plates perhaps, and service was good, but we wasted a Mother's Day dinner on it.
Fantastic staff and delicious menu. And the outdoor tables are dog friendly.
The food was delicious. One member of our party had a burger and insisted that it was one of the best she'd ever had. A few of us had the tomato and quinoa salad and loved it and the fifth member of our group had the mussels which she enjoyed. Our waiter was wonderful and attentive.
The food took over an hour to come out- even the appetizers. We got the Dido burger and the in house prepared patty was falling apart, under seasoned, and under cooked. We sent it back to our very kind waiter and asked him to put in chicken tenders in stead, which he ended up forgetting to put in, so we didn’t end up eating dinner because by the time he realized, we’d been waiting another 30 minutes and just wanted to leave!
They’ve always treated us well. The food and drinks are fantastic.
Be forewarned that this is not The Grange of old and it is not for the better. To start with, the options for vegetarians and vegans are basically gone from the menu. Two salads and a single pasta dish do not qualify as being friendly to those who do not eat meat. The new menu also abandons the farm to table nature that the restaurant name implies and substitutes a pile of dishes that can best be describe a hodgepodge of mismatched ingredients with a faintly Italian spin and Asian fusion. Gone is the fun spin on gastropub food. The salmon dish our party had was overcooked despite being told it would be served medium rare and it tasted of dirty shoes. The mushroom pasta, was goopy and stuck together. While the cocktails are still tasty and our server was attentive and pleasant, we will not return after being loyal customers for years.
The food is fantastic! Everything from the service, the drinks and the food was outstanding.
Was expecting the old menu but the new one did not disappoint. Ashley was amazing
Food was excellent, good outdoor setup, no wait, and the staff did a great job. One of the best restaurants in the neighborhood, hands down.
Always fresh, creative creations and hearty plates. Love the cocktails too. One of my favorite spots in nyc
Great food as always! Highly recommend the fried chicken, beet salad and purple salmon!
The food a bit of a disappointment after looking forward to going there. Wouldn’t recommend
The management at The Grange is amazing. We had a very bad experience with our server and the wait time of our food, but the management handled it with grace. I will be back
Loved getting to know the team! The service is unmatched! We met Danielle, the manager, who is on top of her game unlike so many of the neighboring restaurants. If you’re looking for amazingly curated food and drinks, plus phenomenal service, look no further.
Great service and food! Perfect for a first date on couples date night! Also for a group of friends! So happy this restaurant is back open for business!!
Love this place!
The Grange is honestly one of the best restaurants in NYC. The new menu is fantastic and the service is amazing. A definite need to check out.
We had to get an early dinner due to a commitment. We were first ones there, 2 of us, it took 1 hour to get food. We had to find the waitress to get us refills on drinks every single time. People were coming way after us and getting their food. Food was hot when it arrived and delicious though. But then again, the waitress ignored us and we had to finally flag down someone else to bring our check. It was like being in this great atmosphere, with great food, knowing you left plenty of time for a relaxing meal and then it causes all this anxiety and frustration. Will probably not return.
A wonderful experience overall! Drinks, food, and ambience were calm but fulfilling
New menu is alright; lacking variety for people with specific food restrictions
The Grange is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. The food and the service is just amazing. I have never had a single menu item I didn’t like here. I am so glad they reopened. Hoping they bring back brunch soon!
