The Greene Oak
Brilliant apart from a somewhat incinerated burger. “Well done” shouldn’t be charred... But otherwise fabulous
Good as usual, the roast beef was under par.
Which the staff were keen to rectify.
Have used the Green Oak on and off for years, today was by far the best as we learned it has recently been taken over by new management, cannot recommend more, we were booked on a Sunday for my wife’s birthday the staff bent over backwards for us, couldn’t have done more, food was perfect great selection of beers, wines etc
Will definitely be visiting on regular basis
Really interesting and varied lunch menu visited as a large family group all were happy with the choice. Exceptional service without being overbearing. Interior has a comfortable pub feel but some great quirky modern touches. Will certainly be returning.
Wonderful meal , good selection menu
Very nice meal. My wife said the Roast Beef Dinner was possibly the best she had ever had, and coming from a Pub Chef that is high praise indeed!
Great to see this venue back on top form. Hope it stays so good.
Great setting, knowledgable friendly staff, great menu and food superb. Pub itself smart clean and well laid out. I can thoroughly recommend the Greene Oak.
My sister and I enjoyed ourselves so much last Sunday. We had a lovely roast dinner. Presentation and quality of food and vegetables excellent. Staff very courteous and polite. Made sure we had everything we needed. After our meal we moved to the bar area to chat and finish our drinks. Great afternoon.
Lovely meal with my Mum and husband. My dish of trout and octopus was delicious and my Mum I s looking forward to another visit.
Great family roast. Very child friendly with good atmosphere.
A really good pub. Very high quality food and wine for a really reasonable price. The pub garden was really pleasant and the service was great.
We dined here for Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The service, whilst initially a bit slow, was efficient and caring. We enjoyed our roasts, especially worthy of note is the portion size and the sides that they are served with. To have extra gravy and delicious cauliflower cheese as well as the main plate was genius. Desserts were of a high standard too. We love visiting this pub and will continue to look forward to going.
As always at The Greene Oak, fabulous food in a lovely setting.
excellent food and service but prices a little high, good ambience
Fab food for me and my 5 year old on our way home from Legoland. Would definitely go again when in the area!
Shepherds pie was amazing!
Would recommend based on previous visit (a few weeks ago). Sadly, the food wasn’t as good vs cost on my most recent visit. The service and ambiance was excellent though. May hesitate to visit again too soon! Be careful to check your bill!
Didn’t really like the Travel Zoo menu
The starters were not great for me my main choice was very limited.
Although we booked a deal for four we felt we were not experiencing the true restaurant as we were given this Travel Zoo menu. We would probably not go back.
The staff were lovely though.
Good venue - not too busy but it was a Monday. Had a good non or low alcohol list.
We booked a table following a family day out. Having rung in advance to explain we'd be late, Tom at The Green Oak said it wouldn't be a problem and he'd hold the table for us. Upon arrival they looked after us brilliantly and ensured that we had a cracking meal. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Windsor - it's a short drive outside and well worth a trip.
Food was lovely and portions were good also. The staff were great. Will definetly go again.
Only issue was that the ladies toilet tap wasnt working and really the Resturant should have had a written notice, as they just left a bottle of hand sanitiser there which is not really approriate for people to use after using the facilities.
Excellent discovery , outstanding , not just a gastropub , don't expect pub prices but that's because its not pub grub , Wonderful food , great venue , we ate outside on a pleasant evening , attentive staff thoroughly enjoyed ourselves .
Loved the late lunch experience. A variety of temptations on the menu, a tasty wine list, friendly & efficient service in a lovely environment. The area outside is great in the summer.
Greene Oak service was great and the people serving were really lovely and accomodating.
It was ok... it just felt a little 'over complicated'! Sometimes simple food cooked really well hits the spot better...
The evening was amazing, brilliant service, food and atmosphere. Thank you.
Good pub garden and nice atmosphere. Travelzoo menu was good value for money with glass of prosecco included. Imaginative menu. Nice choices.
One steak was really not good and waitress said she would tell the chef but nothing happened. It would not stop us going again.
Having to wait in excess of 30 minute after arrival for our drinks to arrive we noted that casual diners in the garden appeared to be receiving better service. We pay a 12.5 % service charge which on this occasion we felt was unjustified due to the service we received. Indeed the waiter said on delievering our first course we should not worry as our mains would be quicker as was the case .Food quality still good but it the whole experience that counts not just one element.
Nice food & wine, good atmosphere and good service but a bit overpriced.
a great meal .... many thanks
The staff were very friendly and helpful, good service but we ordered the Sunday roast pork and it was nearly 60% fat
Not a great experience
A most unusual and interesting menu that was served piping hot and was delicious. The Saturday night was busy, but the staff were attentive and smiling throughout. A Good night and we will definitely go again.
delicious food, pleasant staff, 3rd visit and would for sure go again
I've raved about the Green Oak and their Sunday lunch and was so excited to take my family here but sadly the food was not to the same standard I remember. The potatoes were awful, tasted like frozen, the carrots and greens were covered in pepper, luckily for me I actually like it but massively over seasoned. My sister had the pork and was promised crackling but it was instead chewy and tough. I always love the addition of the cheesy cauliflower but this time it was a rather weird taste and the florets were under cooked. Before now this was the best place I've ever eaten Sunday lunch but I may have to re think this in the future as the standard was much lower than the price warranted.
Joined by 5 others for a great evening, food and service was good.
Lovelyset menu apart from the dessert which two of us had: berries with a very thin very sweet white chocolate sauce.
Everything else was excellent.
One of the best roasts I have had. Really lovely staff and dog friendly
Great venue for family get togethers
Perfect pub, great food and service
Will defiantly go back
Brilliant experience. If you haven't been yet, go! If you have been, go again!
