The Greenwich Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We were a group of six people, who enjoyed a very busy Saturday lunch in the Greenwich Tavern. We got a great table with enough space for all of us, ordered at the bar, and we enjoyed a hearty pub meal. Although it was fairly crowded and loud, the service was very friendly and efficient. We will definitely bring other guests at another time.
Went here looking to explore a new part of London and the restaurant exceeded expectations. The food was excellent. Good wines at decent prices. The atmosphere was lively but we could still have an easy conversation. It isn't anything too fancy but would recommend for a nice night out.
Great location, venue and food, but service could be better. Requested two high chairs, but had to queue at the bar to ask for them and didn't get our drinks order taken so had to queue again! Also waitresses weren't very friendly or helpful. Would still go back though, hopefully they were just having a bad day!
We had the sunday lunch as a group of 9 and food was great, with a good selection of beer at the bar. Nice ambiance and views of the park. Service was very friendly, though had to chase one beer which was forgotten. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend.
Went with two others, we were seated quickly. One of the nicest Sunday roast pub lunches I've eaten (pork belly served with lovely roast potatoes, veg and a giant Yorkshire pud) followed by chocolate brownie with ice cream. Nice view of the park and friendly staff who are polite and clearly very busy. Will be back.
One very small thing were the small tables which didn't bother us but you're very closely seated.
Excellent food and service. A bit noisy, but it was Saturday evening, so we understood, and the crowd was a sign of the restaurant's well deserveded popularity. We were a group of 7 down for the weekend from Edinburgh, and everyone was pleased with my choice (thankfully!). Would eat there again.
This pub is in a great location next to Greenwich park. Selection of drinks is very good, outdoor eating is also possible (depending on weather). Unfortunately, the music is quite loud inside and the food is a bit expensive for what it is (solid pub food with some nice twists such as lamb chops with couscous).
We booked for lunch pre a BBC concert at the Royal Chapel, Greenwich. Rapid friendly service in the upstairs room overlooking Greenwich Park on a lovely sunny day. Two had fish and chips and one veggie risotto. All well cooked and served with a smile. we were very happy with the experience.
The food was good value for the size and taste, however the majority of my chips (in the fish and chip option) were small and overlooked which meant that I couldn't eat them.
The deserts were first class.
The service was friendly and welcoming, and the table size was generous for the two diners. I had reserved a table and there were no problems picking up my reservation.
The Tavern had a nice atmosphere and I would recommend.
