This was my first time eating at the Guinea.
It was a pleasant experience and the food was nice. Service was very good.
Lovely Sunday roast in authentic British atmosphere
First time here & really enjoyed it. Steak melted in my mouth & perfectly done. Wine was good. Only issue was space & felt cramped at our table but can’t really expect anything else given venue location & building. Plan to go back soon enjoy several more times.
Great traditional food
Food was fabulous, the staff were friendly and attentive. We very much enjoyed our Sunday roast. The food and portions were devine!!
Thank you to everyone there. So friendly and comforting.
ALWAYS good Pie
This was a great find. On Easter week when pubs were shut stumbled upon The Guinea in Mayfair. This is a steak house for steak eaters dressed in appropriate Mayfair livery, literally. The ambiance was sublime, the steaks were done to perfection and the way that were ordered, service was attentive but not over the top. This was the second time we went to the Guinea as we felt that it was the best and friendliest restaurant that we went to and that includes the Ivy and its Dover Sole Meuniere that is nearly off this planet.
P.S. The Guinea did not have the Open Table reservation but were still able to fit us in. . . . thankfully.
As usual the food service and staff were amazing. You must try this venue
My and husband I thought the food was great and the puddings yum, yum, yum treacle tart
Excellent service with a good choice of fish, meat and of course their pies and the wine list also has the right balance for everyones taste and price.
Had high hopes for this place - the food wasn't good at all . Considering they have won awards for their pies - you can find better at Borough Market . I didn't realize the awards were won 20 years ago! Also - what they show you in the Meat Window and what you get aren't the same thing . My wife's Filet was a joke . Oh well - on to the next place . thx mike g
Food service and atmosphere were very good. Just a littlest cramped.
Wonderful welcome in this old school restaurant with a very friendly relaxed ambience. Excellent for a traditional Sunday roast with plenty of other choices besides. Chef Oisín Rogers and his staff do a great job. Check out the prawn cocktail too!
Good food when it finally arrived but it took over an hour to arrive got sat upstairs not in the main dining room downstairs which raised some concerns
Another great meal and evening at the guinea. Staff are fantastic and the food is delicious.
Overall a good lunchtime dining experience. Good quality fare and would be happy to recommend.
An excellent venue in the heart of the West End. Beautifully cooked rib eye
Noisy, clumsy service, overpriced food and astronomically overpriced wine.
Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
Fantastic evening, great service and excellent food. The meal was delicious from beginning to the end. The meat was tender, flavoursome and cooked perfectly as per our specifications. The service was attentive and professional. Our questions were answered with confidence and suggestions were made in a helpful non pushy manner. We felt we were in very good hands. We enjoyed the evening tremendously . The ambience was lively and very welcoming. We would be delighted to recommend it to others.
Still the best Mayfair pub around. Word is out, so be sure to book ahead. Porterhouse for 2, some cream spinach and chips and a good rioja is hard to beat. Service is perfect.
Great steak... good a atmosphere ! Seating a little tight
Food is of the first order but at a price, still it is Mayfair!
The restaurant is cramped and was particularly noisy with one table of braying young men intent on getting louder as the wine went down
Great atmosphere for good English food. We attended for Sunday roast
Notable for beef and deserving of the praise. Excellent, friendly service
Still the best pub and steakhouse in Mayfair. Great service, Great steak, good assortment of wines. Home away from home when in London
Lovely place lovely food lovely staff very knowledgeable and helpful
Great atmospheric restaurant complementing an inside/outside bustling bar
Beautifully cooked aged steaks and the best sommelier we have encountered in London
A great old school establishment that delivers friendly service and good food
This place is loved by the critics and now it's loved by me!
The place is historic and is a great London venue.
We had Sunday lunch for which we chose the set menu. This was actually better value than the website suggests as you can take 2 or 3 courses, priced accordingly. This made it really good value for money. Bread which appeared home made and excellent quality butter included.
We had roast beef and all the trimmings. A good variety of vegetables and very good quality beef with really good meaty gravy.
A good varied wine selection, with enough available by the glass to suit most tastes fortunately as my wife and I like different wine!
Deserts were good quality. The chocolate mousse was very rich and I had the cheese and biscuits which is often at a supplement on a set menu but here was included. A choice of 3 out of 4available cheeses, all very good quality and plenty of biscuits.
We found the service quick and efficient but not overpowering or stuffy.
As it was a fairly quiet Sunday lunch we ate in the 1st floor boardroom which I believe is usually used for private dining? This resulted in a slightly subdued atmosphere, however in our case we were celebrating my wife's birthday and we chatted away happily.
I loved the history, the celebrity autographs in the gents (yes really), the Mayfair location, the food, the wine and the service.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this place and look forward to trying it during the week.
The food and the service were very good, the price o.k.
But the ambience needs urgent refurbishment, it is not inviting.
Its difficult for me to describe the stairs (dirty fittet carpet!) to the ladies restroom.
The toilet was dirty, the water closet not working. I suppose that the walls and doors
in the ladies restroom were the last time painted when HM Elizabeth II was crowned!
Recommended by colleagues and was an excellent choice. The food and the customer service were wonderful. I look forward to my next visit.
Excellent as always , great staff, excellent food. dependable
Excellent meat selections, with a well-valued wine list.
Amazing as usual, best porterhouse in London. Never a let down.
Every time we go there I always have the steak and Kidney pie and the sticky toffee pudding. This time we added the spotted Dick! So wonderfully filling and so deliciously sinful! The beers are great too!
Great food but a little pricey!
Fabulous steaks and meats cooked to perfection. A London must!
We love our waiter, Vlad! The food is excellent and the setting is wonderful.
