Great food, great server - Jacob. Thank you, Jim
Had a 10 am breakfast reservation, and our food finally came at 10:56. No explanation, no apology. This place feels like an enormous food factory with poor management and no quality control. Avoid.
Food was great and dessert is a must #gooeycake
Food was great and service .
We went here for the sushi happy hour and it exceeded our expectations. Not only was it affordable but the sushi and the cocktails were fresh and flavorful. The service was prompt and everyone was kind. I’ve already recommended the Hamilton to everyone I know and we’ll definitely be back to try out their regular menu!
Brunch menu is very limited and needs to change or add more options.
The ambiance, service, and food was outstanding. This was my second visit and I’m sure visit again soon.
The staff was amazing, and very polite. Our waitress was sweet and very endearing, our food was Cooke for perfection and the hospitality was fantastic
We had an amazing visit food and service were fabulous
Great job by Nadia ... was her first week and she handled a large family of 8 like a champ!
One of the best dining experiences we have had. The menu had EVERYTHING on it and we all got something totally different from each other and every single thing was delicious. The service was outstanding and the whole thing was fantastic!!!!!!
I frequent the Hamilton regularly, mostly on my lunch hour. The service is always amazing, and the food is really good.
I've been to the Hamilton once or twice prior to this past Wednesday evening. I have always been seated in a different section farthest away from the bar. Although the noise level was high it was not intolerable. Wednesday night it was absolutely intolerable. I specifically requested to be seated at a table that was the quietest they could find because it was my mother's birthday dinner. No one at the table could hear the other one speak we had to yell at each other in order to be heard which cause everybody to be silent for most of the evening. The entree my mother order that she loved from before wasn't the same. They changed the recipe and it was terrible. The linguine and clams I ordered had no taste whatsoever. The scallops were the only thing that were tasty. My father ordered scallops and the few that he got were tasty. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless they want to sit absolute silence and stare at each other throughout the entire experience.
We have been to The Hamilton several times and always had a great experience so we decided to take my parents while they were in DC visiting us. It’s tricky finding the right restaurants for them. They are not picky eaters but they are not used to the high cost so for them to be “happy” about a meal not only does the food have to be really good they also have to really enjoy the environment and feel like they got good value. It was a success! All the food was great (sushi, pasta, burgers), they loved the old school feel of the environment, excellent service and the 4 of us ate and had several drinks for $150. We also got seated in the back side of the restaurant which was good because it isn’t as loud and was able to have easy conversations.
Nice, “very DC” place to take visitors in nice central location. Most recent service experience disappointing. Had reservation, but stood directly in front of hostess podium for extended period of time as two hostesses stared at their seating charts or helped (impolite) diners who loudly pushed in front of us. When finally seated, waitress was nice, but inexperienced. Suggested (by bartender) “buttery “ Cabernet was “not at all buttery,” but was the most expensive bottle of Cab on wine menu. Food, as always was quite good. Overall, a pleasant experience, albeit slightly below expectations.
We have always gone to the Hamilton after our graduation ceremonies at DAR, so we knew we wanted to go back again. We threw them many curve balls this time! We were late arriving and then we had an extra guest show up. The staff was very kind, gracious and professional in spite of the glitches. We were lucky to get there early enough to enjoy the Happy Hour sushi deals and it was very fresh and delicious. Our meals were very good - most ordered the burger, but we also tried the meatloaf and a gluten free pasta as well. All good quality and the service was wonderful. They really made our celebration special.
Samantha was great, even with Magic at our table, she kept everything under control
Outstanding food and service
Ariana was so kind and helpful. She was able to get in a little conversation which I always love
Her service was great. We were handling some sad business in DC regarding my mom's passing. It was a nice distraction to be there. I love DC
Attentive service, amazing food, great location for many DC activities.
Food had to taken back and heat lamped. Server forgot about our second round of drinks. Had to flag him down. Service was friendly, but overall lacking in attention to service and food. I was apologetic to our guests.
The food was outstanding. The chicken was tasty and very tender. Everyone enjoyed their meal including my eleven year old daughter. I also loved artwork on the walls. I would definitely tell others about The Hamilton. It was certainly an awesome experience. w
Great spot for dinner before a show at the National. Quick walk to theater.
Overall, the experience was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive and helpful, and the food was delicious.
The food was flavorless and the selection was limited
Enjoyed our experience celebrating a birthday! Also learned that the kitchen is open late which is good to know. Would definitely visit again.
Server Sam was extremely personable which made my birthday dinner very enjoyable.
This was my first time at The Hamilton and it was amazing!
Quality from start to finish. From the time you enter, staff makes you feel “special” without being intrusive. Service is personal, food quality and quantity is good. No complaints here.
I've eaten at the Hamilton many times before and chose it for my daughter's birthday dinner. The food quality was down from previous visits and we had to send back the sushi. But the desserts are where they shine, and since it was a celebration, that made up for some of the disappointment with the food.
Great food, great service, then walk downstairs to hear great music. What's not to like?
As always, great food selection, great food, great service - and since it was still early in the day, the noise level was moderate. It can get very noisy at dinner with a full house.
Appetizers and wine were great. My sister loved her crab cake. My NY Strip was very over cooked, ordered medium, came out well done. Service was great in the beginning but when we were finished with our meal she was nowhere to be found for about 20 minutes. I’ll be back just not what I expect from this restaurant.
The Hamilton used to be one if my go-to spots, but I was a bit disappointed tonight. They seem to have cut the portion size, food wasnt as flavorful as in the past and service was slow. Wont return for a while.
Food very good. Value, quality above average. Service very good, attentive but not intrusive. Noise level very high. That’s the only criticism I have but I realize the venue lends itself to a higher level of noise.
Overall we enjoyed our dinner there so much we returned today and took a guest for lunch and intend to have dinner there tonight.
Visiting Washington DC from Georgia. Everything was great, except our server didn’t seem to concerned to check on us. He had other tables that he was clearly keeping up with. Glasses got empty and had to order drinks from 2 different waiters.
Very good service, food very good as well and a robust atmosphere; overall enjoyed this place very much!
Very crowded and noisy place but seated in a timely manner. Waiter was prompt and professional. Drinks were just so-so. Entrees were delivered half way through the appetizers. Although the menu offered extensive Japanese choices, the shrimp “tempura” was simply a heavy battered deep fried shrimp with a strong spicy sauce. The spider roll was cold and not fresh. I know better than to order Japanese food in a non-Japanese restaurant but, once again, made the mistake. Dessert was very good but overall, a disappointing experience
