really lovely food, great staff and the most amazing view, we were sat right by the window. Really recommend
Adored the venue!
We usually enjoy eating here, but Sunday evening was busy so the noise level was quite high. The service seemed a bit random, several servers milling around not doing very much. I was disappointed that we had a long wait for 2 starters, one of which was from the children's menu. This meant that we didn't get our main course till 7.10p.m. an hour and 10 minutes after we arrived, which was too long for those who hadn't had a starter. While the rest of the family enjoyed their meals, the beef in my roast was grisly and tired looking, probably been cooked a lot earlier in the day?
Not quite the birthday celebration we had anticipated.
Food was excellent, one of the beat Sunday lunches we have had. Would definitely go again
Upon arrival we were made to feel very welcome, whilst adhering to new COVID protocols. The service was fab, the waitress was polite and cheerful and very attentive. The food was outstanding and great value for money. The roast sharing board is a must!!
Have been dying to try The Hare & Hounds for a long time and finally went there for a Sunday roast. We were not disappointed!! Service was wonderful and the food when it arrived was absolutely delicious. By far the best roast in Bath. We will definitely be back, on a regular basis!!
Nice relaxed ambience, good food, decent beer (H & H's own brew) and nice staff - what more do you want?
Lovely breakfast and good service in the circumstances. A good pub for all sorts of occasions.
Breakfast was of a very good quality.
Last minute 50th birthday lunch requested table with view which we got lovely.
Food and service are fine, tables too close too to comply with social distancing.
Not sure who is the audience for this reply but Inattentive staff meant I actually spent less than I had planned!
The actual place is just gorgeous. The food slightly disappointing. I expected rustic dishes cooked beautifully, gastro pub like. But it was a bit average, both the food offer and the actual cooking skills. The atmosphere was really nice and the wine list not bad, suitable to all budgets.
I came to meet somebody for a working lunch. The ambience, the food and most of the service were good, and I look forward to eating at the Hare and Hounds again at some time in the future. I chose mussels, which were very good, and they come with what looks like a delicious sauce or soup. If I had been provided with a soup spoon - or our waitress had attended to us after we had been served or just been nearby to be called - I would have been able to taste it.
Lovely place, well organised ,friendly staff, good service ,lovely food .
Always enjoy the Hare and Hounds, for a drink and meal.
The marquee on the lawn ,very good idea, very safe and friendly staff.
We walked up from bath city, it was a tough climb but well worth it when we got to this cozy, authentic local pub restaurant. Service very agreeable. Must eat the Camembert, rosemary honey board for sharing. View was terrific and walk back to the city very enjoyable downhill!!
We were served by a staff member who was having his first day on the job. He had not been sufficiently trained and was clearly struggling to handle the job. Not enough knowledge had been imparted as to what w drinks were available and the ordering system. This resulted in a number of mistakes. The manager helped to rectify the situation and did not charge us for the dishes that were delivered late. The staff member needed to be properly trained and supported.
When we were at the pub at the end of August the service was great so hopefully this was not a typical experience.
The service was great and the staff helped to accommodate us despite a busy day with a few over bookings, food was excellent and everything came fast including drinks, will definitely return.
Excellent outdoor pizza area. Lots of space, great for kids. Great pizza and service.
Excellent service. Manager and staff were very understanding with regards to the fact that I was hearing impaired and lipread. Thank you for removing your masks to ensure I could lipread you. Lovely pub with lovely atmosphere and we enjoyed our meal too. Thank you!
Excellent pub with great food and views over Bath. Will be returning soon!
We sat in the conservatory bit. Error! The noise level made it virtually impossible to carry out a conversation without leaning in and destroying safe distance. Both have half list voices today from having to shout.
Not H&H fault. We’ll make sure next time we sit in a quiet corner with proper acoustics.
Food and service great.
Will still go back there.
Service was terrible, wrong drinks, wrong food!!! Our server just didn’t have any common sense.
Lovely service and atmosphere. Staff doing amazing job in these very difficult times whilst keeping customers safe and welllooked after.
I visit frequently, it's that good, both for breakfast and lunch, mainly. Parking is easy, lovely old building, fabulous country views (marred somewhat, hopefully only during Covid, by a marquee for the bar drinkers on the lawn). It is definitely noisy when busy, but not deafening, and really very calm when not. The menu (for choice) is fairly basic fare of favourites in pubs, but with some welcome, more interesting, sides and starters. Importantly, the standard of the actual cooking is very good indeed. My friend and I chose to have four starters instead of a main course: garlic squid (excellent) duck terrine with sourdough (good), beet salad (delicious) and a chicory and orange salad (crisp and fresh, also lovely). If you're not looking to pay twice as much to get a more eclectic menu, then this is an excellent place to come for value and quality.
Lovely breakfast in lovely pub.
Great menu and atmosphere that contributed to an enjoyable evening. Social distancing was observed throughout.
Great service and delicious food in an attractive setting. Will definitely recommend to friends and be visiting again !
We had a lovely lunch at the peaceful and pretty Hare & Hounds! During our time there, a couple who hadn’t pre-booked came in and were unbelievable rude to the team when they couldn’t immediately find them somewhere to eat, I was taken aback by how professional and calm the team were in such an intense situation. Hats off to the fantastic staff! And the food was delicious - would recommend!
Great view, clean and efficient service, good food.
We sat in the conservatory along with some loud diners, who when they greeted each other disregarded any Covid advice too! We did feel a little vulnerable. Food and service was excellent as usual. We’ll be back.
Always good and did not disappoint. Lovely setting great company
I visited Hare and Hounds with my family on Sunday. We had the roast sharing platter and it was AMAZING! The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend
This was a perfect Sunday lunch. My mother and I picked up my son from university and had a relaxed Sunday lunch whilst catching up. The food was well cooked, good value for money and the service was impeccable. Best of all, we were not “rushed” through, giving us plenty of time to catch up with each other. Will definitely visit again.
Excellent evening ,thank you.The table location was impressive, as was the service.
We had a really lovely time! Highlight was the superb vegetarian options
Nice relaxed lunch and the staff where exceptional. One thing I would say the vege burger was good but the chips portion was a little on the small side, But apart from us being greedy it’s a lovely pub!
Great meal with the family plus dog! Staff were friendly and super attentive in a good way. Food delicious and felt totally safe with their COVID measures. Highly recommended the Hare and Hounds as we always have an excellent experience whenever we go.
Wow, the baked Aubergine was out of this world. Great service and delicious food.
Their COVID precautions were excellent, but did not interfere with a lovely evening out.
And they didn’t try and get rid of us after an hour and a quarter like lots of places do atm.
I was very impressed with the Covid 19 precautions and they made me feel that i would eat there frequently if i lived in Bath. With my daughters in Bath i certainly will when i visit.
I have eaten here 3 times and it has always been very good.
Great venue, ambiance and staff.
