This was just before lockdown 2, so we knew there would be a few things that weren’t as normal like the atmosphere etc. But it was lovely, great table by the window with amazing view, food was fantastic and dog friendly which is always nice too! Thank you!
Enjoyable English breakfast.. can be inconsistent and this particular one was not one of the best ones I’ve had at H&H.. can be a bit hit & miss sadly.
As usual everything was good with our visit, lovely table too looking out over the view. Thank you to Barbara for looking after us again.
Food was fantastic, our server Clara was excellent
Always very tasty food and friendly staff. Great views in the daytime.
Love this place, been going on and off for years. This visit was my first time out since March lockdown due to sheilding (just before the next one lol) was finnaly nice to go somewhere where I didn't have to do the dishes :) staff and lovely and all precautions looked spot on for covid. Will definitely be back once lockdown is over again.
We had a lovely evening on Halloween. The staff had made a real effort and put beautifully carved pumpkins all around the pub which really made a lovely ambience.
Breakfast at H & H has always been excellent in my experience & yesterday, trying different items, porridge & various extras, veg sausage, spinach, field mushrooms & avocado together was wonderful: felt satisfied all day long.
Afterwards sat in the library chatting.
We had a lovely meal at the Hare and Hounds and were allowed to keep our dog with us in the restaurant. The staff were very accommodating and we would definitely go back. It was horrible weather when we visited but the view from the pub was still beautiful and we would like to go back in spring or summer to enjoy the outside space which is very large.
Had breakfast here - the full works - it was quick, NOT at all greasy and all of it hot. Yummy.
More than happy with food and service. Very cold when door opens would ask to sit elsewhere, fantastic views
Hoping to come back end of Nov for lunch instead of breakfast
Very nice atmosphere and good food. Its one of our favourite pubs in the area
The food was very good, though the service was poor. We waited quite a while for drinks and service, and I had to ask two waiters for water. They are quite busy and obviously very popular, so I’m sure the waitstaff are run off their feet. I also wasn’t crazy about sitting in the conservatory as the lighting is poor.
Our food and drink was absolutely delicious. We had a lovely trip out, especially as it was our first trip to a restaurant since March. We would have preferred if the mussels came with fries rather than ordering them separately but saying that the mussels were delicious and the fries were crispy and salty. We love it there, also felt really safe with hand gel on the tables and the staff insisted customers who came in without face masks purchase one from the bar so I commend them for insisting politely. Made for a safe and enjoyable experience.
Absolutely beautiful setting in Bath. Lovely, friendly staff. Slightly pricey food but it’s great quality and delicious so worth the money.
Excellent food and great service! Great experience
As always the staff were very attentive and the food good.
really lovely food, great staff and the most amazing view, we were sat right by the window. Really recommend
Really poor pork belly, barely a sliver topped with a jellified blob of fat that clearly didn't become crackling. Too expensive for what I had and frankly disappointing.
However you redeemed yourselves with the most amazing sticky toffee pudding (with salted caramel sauce) that I have ever eaten! Just incredible.
Story of two courses but in the end your pudding skills won out over a poor main course. Please take this feedback constructively because in the main it was a good experience.
Great place great service.
Fish and chips perfect
This fantastic local pub is a must-visit whenever we’re in Bath! The staff are lovely, the views are gorgeous, and the food is always incredible. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Service wasn’t good wasn’t checked and not offered pudding so just asked for bill when we managed to get her attention and we weren’t seated at a very nice table. Used to love going here but won’t bother again.
Adored the venue!
We usually enjoy eating here, but Sunday evening was busy so the noise level was quite high. The service seemed a bit random, several servers milling around not doing very much. I was disappointed that we had a long wait for 2 starters, one of which was from the children's menu. This meant that we didn't get our main course till 7.10p.m. an hour and 10 minutes after we arrived, which was too long for those who hadn't had a starter. While the rest of the family enjoyed their meals, the beef in my roast was grisly and tired looking, probably been cooked a lot earlier in the day?
Not quite the birthday celebration we had anticipated.
Food was excellent, one of the beat Sunday lunches we have had. Would definitely go again
Upon arrival we were made to feel very welcome, whilst adhering to new COVID protocols. The service was fab, the waitress was polite and cheerful and very attentive. The food was outstanding and great value for money. The roast sharing board is a must!!
We had a lovely meal at the Hare and Hounds to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Excellent food, great service and a fantastic view made it a truly memorable experience.
Have been dying to try The Hare & Hounds for a long time and finally went there for a Sunday roast. We were not disappointed!! Service was wonderful and the food when it arrived was absolutely delicious. By far the best roast in Bath. We will definitely be back, on a regular basis!!
Nice relaxed ambience, good food, decent beer (H & H's own brew) and nice staff - what more do you want?
Lovely breakfast and good service in the circumstances. A good pub for all sorts of occasions.
Breakfast was of a very good quality.
Last minute 50th birthday lunch requested table with view which we got lovely.
Food and service are fine, tables too close too to comply with social distancing.
Not sure who is the audience for this reply but Inattentive staff meant I actually spent less than I had planned!
The actual place is just gorgeous. The food slightly disappointing. I expected rustic dishes cooked beautifully, gastro pub like. But it was a bit average, both the food offer and the actual cooking skills. The atmosphere was really nice and the wine list not bad, suitable to all budgets.
I came to meet somebody for a working lunch. The ambience, the food and most of the service were good, and I look forward to eating at the Hare and Hounds again at some time in the future. I chose mussels, which were very good, and they come with what looks like a delicious sauce or soup. If I had been provided with a soup spoon - or our waitress had attended to us after we had been served or just been nearby to be called - I would have been able to taste it.
Lovely place, well organised ,friendly staff, good service ,lovely food .
Always enjoy the Hare and Hounds, for a drink and meal.
The marquee on the lawn ,very good idea, very safe and friendly staff.
We walked up from bath city, it was a tough climb but well worth it when we got to this cozy, authentic local pub restaurant. Service very agreeable. Must eat the Camembert, rosemary honey board for sharing. View was terrific and walk back to the city very enjoyable downhill!!
We were served by a staff member who was having his first day on the job. He had not been sufficiently trained and was clearly struggling to handle the job. Not enough knowledge had been imparted as to what w drinks were available and the ordering system. This resulted in a number of mistakes. The manager helped to rectify the situation and did not charge us for the dishes that were delivered late. The staff member needed to be properly trained and supported.
When we were at the pub at the end of August the service was great so hopefully this was not a typical experience.
The service was great and the staff helped to accommodate us despite a busy day with a few over bookings, food was excellent and everything came fast including drinks, will definitely return.
