The Hoddington Arms
Excellent food and good service. Will be going back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
We having been going to the Hodd for many years, it is our local. We were a little disappointed this time, we waited nearly an hour for our main courses, my steak was tough and over cooked, we didn't receive much service once the main courses had been delivered, we had to go to the bar to order drinks and to request the bill. All in all not our usual experience, left a bit deflated.
Delightful staff. Nothing too much trouble . Food was fabulous across the board. A bit pricey for us but well worth it.
Excellent establishment, we have made many great family memories here
Excellent quality, locally sourced food and drink, with great friendly service. A fantastic pub.
Absolutely lovely place to eat and drink. Knowledgeable barperson and very pleasant waitperson. Interesting menu well cooked food, piping hot. Good varied wine list from reasonable price to “pushing the boat out” . Overall a very pleasant experience. Back next week!
Good location, good food, excellent service. briliaaaaaaaaaant
Food and service excellent as always. Could do with the background music rather quieter.
We had a 3 course lunch. The food was amazing! Especially the crackling bits and the chateaubriand 😜
Will definitely return
Fantastic good quality fresh food. Pay a bit more for it than at some pubs but I didn't mind for such a fab lunch.
Our waitress made us feel very welcome. Excellent friendly service
Service was excellent Toby was very efficient and welcoming. Bar staff were also friendly and attentive.
Food was excellent (four people eating).
We will be going back again.
Excellent food and very friendly service. Will certainly be returning.
Very relaxed lunch time meal, excellent food and reasonable prices.
Quality food, in the right amount so no wastage, timings good, no long waits. Beer excellent.
Always so welcoming with impeccable food & service. Great atmosphere, never too noisy & always guaranteed to leave with a satisfied appetite.
Celebrated my 50th birthday at "The Hodd" last night, as always superb service, superb food, superb atmosphere. I have never been disappointed with anything here which is why my family and I keep coming back.
A fabulous meal- come hungry, wonderful flavours and also big portions! :)
Another lovely visit. Service was a little slow this time round but I think it was because it was very busy.
amazing country pub, the food and ambience were amazing
A lovely village pub run by a professional, friendly crew. Both times I've visited, we have sat outside on the terrace. Good food and wine choices, set-menus etc. Can't fault it :-)
Staff full marks. Food delicious - vegetables always a test, very good. No need for music inside. Sat outside which was very comfortable. Liked the ‘elbow room’. Definitely recommend.
Genoten van de accommodatie, het geweldige eten, en de super aardige bediening... kortom geweldig!
Very good meal and service for my Wife’s Birthday
Scallops were fantastic as was the roast beef
Fantastic! The only blight on our dining experience was that we were not aknowledged by the Manageress. The other Staff were excellent!
Lovely as always we shared a delightful fish board then had the plaice which was delicious. Great staff lovely buzzy restaurant
Lovely place - excellent food, super wine and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back - with friends and family .
Made to feel welcome on our arrival, nice table outside, great service and excellent fish and chips followed by v nice sweet, will be going back for more!
Amazing service, quaint country pub.
Very pleasant and relaxing Sunday lunch. Overall OK, not special but resonable food at a reasonable price.
Delicious food with fast and friendly service. Thought the wine was a little on the pricey side but a great place for a special treat.
Good food and service in a friendly calm atmosphere.
The pub is situated pleasant country side and has a well maintained groinds
It was not our first visit and will certainly not be our last. Our allocated table was all that stops an overall five star rating as the this corner table is located by a window which has a bench seat and did not provide comfortable seating
We will request a different table when we go there again.
This was our first visit to the Hoddington Arms which we chose due to favourable reviews on Open Table. This place more than lived up to our expectations and, in fact, we were enormously impressed with the quality of the food. We both chose scallops as starter and salmon as a main course and in both cases it was clearly very fresh produce and was perfectly cooked with lovely sauces and accompaniments. The service was friendly and efficient and the general surrounding are lovely. On the basis of our experience we would certainly go back.
Lovely food and service
Lovely, friendly pub with delicious food and gorgeous decor. Highly recommend!
Great service, superb food as always. Always enjoy a meal at the Hodd.
Had a lovely warm welcome from the staff upon arrival for our Sunday lunch.
Lovely meal for all four of us, no complaints, we enjoyed the well cooked, delicious food.
Staff attentive and helpful
Excellent again. We've been here many times and it's now back on track and getting where it should be. Simple and recognised dishes, with some fantastic local treats, including local gin - which seems to have been a favourite!
We look forward to returning to this special place for us, always a "go to" for an enjoyable evening out.
Perfect location in a pretty village with welcoming and professional staff. We sat outside on the terrace - the garden is extensive - but the indoor area is also welcoming and cosy.
We went on Friday lunchtime and the clientele was rather mature, but judging by the large play area in the garden, I expect it's a bit louder and more energetic at weekends with families (pros and cons)!
The food was delicious, well presented and prepared. Extensive menu with lots of choice and local produce - we had 2 courses from the set menu including goats cheese souffle, plaice, cheese plate and rhubarb crumble. My only small criticism was the lack of salads on the menu (which would have been my ideal choice on a hot day). We had 2 glasses of delicious wine - a Berry Bros Chardonnay and a Sauvignon Viognier plus coffee, and paid £70 including tip.
Worth travelling to and we will definitely return.
