The Honingham Buck
Our food features traditional favorites as well as some interesting and great tasting contemporary dishes. Bar snacks and nibbles together with starters, mains, puddings and a children's menu ensures there is something for all tastes and occasions. From a scotch egg & a pint to a lovely 3 course celebration meal!
Lovely staff, beautifully presented food. Varied menu. Took my mum here for her birthday and she loved it
Very good food as usual. Black pudding scotch egg just amazing.
Disappointed with two of the dishes we chose had sold out but what we had was lovely.
We enjoyed our Sunday lunch, the service , food were really good, we will definitely be back😋
Loved it, the food was stunning and the service excellent, will definitely be back.
Portion sizes were small and too much emphasis on drizzled, shavings and sauce which looked lovely but made it not filling enough. Those is the only thing as everything else was lovely.
Excellent prompt service and a very tasty lunch. Thank you
Great Sunday Roast. Would have loved a little more gravy but the beef was perfect.
After several visits, each time the food and service are excellent. Each time there are menu changes too, so that helps to make the experience even more enjoyable!
All I will say is I will return to The Honingham Buck whenever it is convenient for me to do so!
My wife and I were staying at the nearby Fieldings Cottages to do a travel piece for a local magazine, and chose the Buck as an ideal place to eat, being only minutes away from our accommodation. We were impressed by the quality and value of the food, and the cheerful service. The place also had a nice warm feel, and seemed to be full - on a Friday evening. We would definitely go again.
Everything from the staff to the lovely old building & of course the food was superb will defiantly go back mybe stay the night as the rooms looked brilliant too .
Excellent Sunday roast
The food at the Honingham Buck is a cut above average pub food - recommended
Bit of R&R
Food was good quality. Steak was slightly over cooked - more med/well than medium but the peppercorn sauce was excellent. The panna cotta dessert was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere very pleasant. Drinks were reasonably priced and the local beers were great. We also had a bottle of excellent malbec for £20 which is very reasonable.
Excellent food....not rushed....the Pork and Black Pudding Scotch Egg is to die for....will certainly visit again....
This was our second time and it lived up to our expectations. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was fantastic.
We highly recommend a visit.
We find Honningham Buck great on all counts apart from the cost which we feel is excessive for what after all is a pub.
If the price was more reasonable then no doubt we would chose it as a venue more often
Great food in a lovely location. Well priced and friendly staff with good service. The interior is a mixture of modern and traditional.
We love the Honingham Buck. Food is so delicious, great variety to choose from and beautifully presented. We will return again and again.
Amazing experience. Always been but first as a family with a very young child. Very accomodating
Took my mum there on Sat 30th March for a lunch time meal. Very good quality food and service. Thought the menu had a good wide variety which would suit most people's tastes (we had difficulty in choosing, especially with desserts!). Ambiance score low, as (surprisingly) not very busy at all - only one other couple in the restaurant, and maybe one or two small families (that we could see) in the main bar area. Can't comment on the wine selection as I was not drinking that day (and wine menu was not offered anyway). Overall, would still highly recommend.
Rural restaurant need a car to get there easily but well worth it
Very nice food in lovely setting. Excellent service. Will definitely be visiting again!
A very welcoming atmosphere, in a beautiful rustic pub, And the food was lovely, we both had the pork belly and it was delicious. would definitely recommend and will be returning.
A lovely meal to celebrate a birthday. We were greeted with a warm welcome. It was a Monday lunch time and early on, so we were one of only a couple of tables in. The service was fabulous, not too quick and not too slow. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. We had a couple of questions about the menu and the lady who served us was very knowledgable and made recommendations. Along with the adult meals, I ordered a dish from the children’s menu and although they didn’t have the dip that went with the meal, the chef made an alternative which was delicious and went down a treat with my son. The food was excellent and service was excellent! This is the third time I have been and I will definitely be going again, and recommending to friends and family.
Excellent service. On arrival they spotted that my elderly mother-in-law would need a seat while we waited for our table and arranged another table for us to sit at. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. A big thumbs up from all of us.
We went for Sunday lunch after visiting on several previous occasions. My friend and I agreed that the starters were both superb. We both had roast. The beef was very good. Unfortunately my friends chicken was a little on the dry side.
The puddings we chose were excellent. A very chocolaty brownie and a orange cake. The pistachio foam was missing, but foams are generally uninspiring so wasn't missed!
And french rose wine. Delicious.
Birthday Meal with friends get together. The food was amazing. It is every time i go. perfect presentation. Large drink menu which us perfectly priced. The atmosphere feels amazing, it feels like posh dining in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The bar always alway you to have a more relaxed dining experience, it is the best of both worlds. I will definitely be going back. I love the dinner and sunday lunch. I keep going back and i know that’s a sign it is really good. I highly recommend going you won’t regret it.
Food and service was very good indeed. A lovely old style English pub. Will definitely return.
Interesting choices in menu, including some locally sourcedm, food always of excellent quality, good service, very tasty beers, dining room with some soft furnishing helps to moderate any noise, much appreciated by those of us entertaining elderly relatives.
Always great service. Frioendly staff and an interestiong and varied menu each time we go. Can thoroughly recommend and have done to a number of friends!! Loyalty card also very beneficial!
Unfortunately, we sat in the bar area on Sunday and one of our group, who has a hearing problem and is in the early stages of dementia, found the noise very difficult and he was unable to finish eating his meal.
You were very busy and had I realised there might have been a problem, I would have asked for a table in the dining area.
Not your problem though, and the food and service was very good as always. We shall certainly return and recommend you!
We have eaten here many times. Food is always fantastic, great menu, loved the cauliflower, coconut and red pepper soup this time
We've been meeting at the Honingham Buck for almost 8 years now, and it is the best it's ever been. Food and service is fantastic. Well done guys!
Great service excellent food
Had a lovely evening and would definitely come again. My only gripe would be the chicken breast meal I had was not sufficient as there was only sauce and a few mushrooms with it. It needed more veg to make it satisfying. Also it was very salty.
Desserts were lovely.
Always a delight eating here, food is outstanding. Staff are very welcoming. Lovely atmosphere.
It’s been sometime since we were last at Honingham Buck,(believe there’s been a change of ownership),and we both agreed that the food was excellent; better than we remember from last time. The menu was unfussy and not over full! The service was just how we like it; not intrusive & very helpful. Overall a very nice meal, very nice service, & great value. We will be back.
