The Inn at Welland
The menu has a strong, seasonal influence, and reflects the best in contemporary British cuisine whilst drawing inspiration from classic dishes around the world. The winter menu includes sautéed chicken livers with black pudding potato cake, buttered spinach, beetroot & bacon crisp, as well as slow cooked Herefordshire lamb shoulder with braised red cabbage, hot pot hash brown, glazed parsnips, and rich lamb cooking liquor. As for the wine list, it's an eclectic collection of well-priced, interesting finds, which hint at the owners’ personal enjoyment of a great bottle.
Food was excellent. Service was prompt and helpful. General atmosphere was welcoming. We are regular visitors and will continue to book in the future.
We love it at the Inn at Welland. You are always assured of a warm welcome, comfy seating, delicious food, great service all in a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Excellent - as ever. Always a great place to take visitors for a treat. Beautiful food in outstanding location. Lovely ambience. Brilliant staff and service overall.
This was our visit and we were impressed from start to finish. The decor was tasteful and ambience relaxed but buzzy.
The food was deliciously cooked and presented.Vegetables were cooked to perfection.
We are very excited to have found it
A fantastic Sunday lunch, we would definitely come back!
Once again an excellent meal and overall experience
Delicious food and drink in a lovely relaxed atmosphere
Lovely country pub with beautiful outside seating and views. Staff great and service too. Food good although very pricey and the atmosphere would be improved for me with some background music as too quiet but would recommend
Although quite busy, sadly on this occasion the wait between courses was unacceptably long, to the point of boredom and when the food did arrive it wasn't up to its usual standard and lacked a bit on portion size. Hopefully this was just a one off, as previous visits had been better.
Excellent food. The Spring lamb was magnificent! The best ever, so melt in the mouth tender we have never had better. It was a busy night when we went but the service was good. The only gripe I did have was no one offered to take our coats when we arrived. A little thing but it does make you feel welcome.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Inn. My roast chicken with garlic mash and cabbage was outstanding. The decor is excellent, and the service very helpful and friendly We had a delightful evening and would highly recommend.
Lovely Saturday lunch with friends. Everything to a very high standard, as usual. Would welcome more variety with vegetarian main courses. The tagine is an addition but the other dish has been on the menu for several months now and is not up to normal standards, quite boring, unfortunately.
You were obviously very busy on Saturday night and I believe from what the waitress said everyone appeared to arrive together so service was very slow. We had to wait about an hour for our main course after finishing our starter. However the food was good and worth waiting for!
The inn at Welland provides excellent food in good surroundings with very good service
Thank you - delicious lunch!! We’ll be back soon! Can’t wait!
good food excellent wine list rather monochrome home counties clientele service urbane rather than charming
some of the food we had was excellent
I'd had high expectations but was a little disappointed. No one offered to take our coats so they stayed on the back of our chairs. The restaurant is in a lovely old building but you wouldn't know it from the interior as you could be anywhere.
The scallops were too soft so had little texture. My main of fish was tasty though. There was very little choice of wine by the glass which is both disappointing and a little alarming as its rural location means that everyone has to come by car. I wouldn't return as I think other restaurants in the area offer a better experience for the money.
Really enjoyable evening around, very tasty food, cooked just as we'd asked
This is my favourite restaurant around at the moment. Never had a bad meal and the food is superb. Staff are excellent. Couldn’t wish for anything to change.
A first time visit and the food and drinks were exceptionally good. Well above the normal “gastro pub” more of a “fine dining” standard. You rarely see cheese soufflé on a menu and there’s a reason for that. It’s incredibly difficult and time consuming to make especially in a commercial kitchen. I ordered it and it was superb. Accompanied as it was with fig and rosemary, it was delicious. Followed by duck which was succulent and full of flavour. Could of done with a little more carrot purée but otherwise a fabulous dish. Finished off with a trio of mini desserts which were also all wonderful. Accompanied by amazing mocktails. Drinks are often forgotten in reviews but these are definitely worth a mention. Great flavour combinations, beautifully presented. The service was good, unobtrusive but there when needed, but we did have to enquire about the soup and risotto of the day flavours which should have been advised at the outset. Overall, a delicious and pleasurable dinner and we look forward to a return visit.
Poor menu. Uninspiring. A gentleman possibly the owner very nice, decor lovely. Waitresses awful. Had to go in search of someone to pay bill. Terrible service after initial greeting. Disappointing food.
Superb evening, food was brilliant, staff attentive friendly and helpful, wonderful dining experience , just a lovely place to eat and drink, made my wife’s birthday special.
Never disappoints, always good. Suggest a better arranger for coats.
Food well presented but not value for the money, did not have the wow factor, trying to hard too be different, don’t mess with the classics, they are classic for a reason!
This restaurant has always been the go to place to eat if you live in Malvern. There is only one other restaurant that equalled the quality of their food.
Some dear friends ate at Welland for an Anniversary dinner 3 or 4 weeks ago and said how disappointed they were. I would have to echo their sentiment. The Sunday lunch yesterday, was not up to their usual standard. Hopefully this is only temporary...head chef left?
Excellent, as ever. A busy Easter Saturday service but the standards remain outstanding. Very attentive owners ensured our comfort by adjusting the window blinds to shade the setting sun.
Super service and excellent food, good value for the money. We found the ambience very good, slightly perturbed by a loud woman on the next table, it’s amazing that these thoughtless people are around but doesn’t take anything away from the restaurant. With luck when you go she won’t be there!
Well worth a visit.
Perfect for a special occasion, and a great outdoor area for a drink on a sunny evening before dinner.
Elegant setting, lovely and quiet, excellent ambiance, very good food
Another excellent meal, the food is always fabulous with good vegetarian options.
This was a family a family outing to celebrate my 68th birthday, everything about the occasion was first class good well cooked food, great service by young enthusiastic British staff. It was everything it should be and not expensive. Many thanks as McArther said, I will return.
Excellent food and service, a little noisy and maybe tight for space as the evening progressed. so if you love lively all good.
We had a most enjoyable evening at the Inn at Welland. Unfortunately it was marred by a very noisy party which made it difficult for us to hear what our friends were saying. The waiting staff were kept extremely busy and were excellent.
The Inn came recommended by a friend - although a fair distance (30 miles) away from our home we decided to venture further for supper. We absolutely loved it - great interior, not over precious, high quality food cooked really well. Casual but smart. Service was excellent despite being busy. Loved the soup and liquorice home made ice cream - also liked the wine recommendations with some of the courses. Have already told our neighbours about it and we’re planning to revisit.
Lovely food, really outstanding service, the staff are second to non, thoroughly enjoyable can't wait to go back!
Been many times food always very good and service excellent
Feel that the menu is very varied but could do with changing
More often an d more specials than one choice
Staff are excellent and can not do enough for
Only one complaint tables very close so noise levels
When having conversation can be loud
The food was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed celebrating a birthday and mother’s day at the inn at welland. Thank you!
We love the Inn at welland. Every time we have been, the food has been excellent and the service fabulous. Thank you
My partner had special dietary requirements, which they met fully with a very special tasty meal.
We love The Inn and always enjoy our visits. The only negative for this visit was the choice on the menu. One of us was a vegetarian and the choices were quite limited for the main course. The actual plate ordered was a little boring and lacking in flavour. However, this will not prevent us returning and we look forward to an updated Spring menu.
