Ivy Cafe - Marylebone
Open seven days a week, The Ivy Café, Marylebone brings some of the familiarity of The Ivy brand to the ceaselessly chic Marylebone Lane, providing the perfect setting for any occasion.
A number of tables remain unreserved throughout the day allowing you to sample our range of café-style menus at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or shopping in the area.
Food came in stages. First breakfast of poached eggs came cold. Then pancakes with no sauce. Five minutes later one overcooked kipper arrived. The waiter hadn’t ordered the other kipper. That arrived cooked okay but we had ate all four meals at different times. Had to ask three times for milk for the tea.
They realised how bad they had been by reducing the bill by 50%, even though we hadn’t complained at that point. Never again!
Our table was lovely and most of the staff were friendly. There were several problems with the food, which meant it had to be sent back - sides then came back cold. I Have visited several Ivy cafes but will not return to this one which is unfortunate as it is great location
Belated birthday brunch for my friend and also a celebration of her pregnancy. The staff were attentive, friendly accommodating and thoughtful, considering my friend’s comfort and what she was able to eat from the menu. Thank you.
From the friendly greeting to the buzzing atmosphere to the great service and the lovely food we had a great Saturday lunch. Well worth a second visit!
Disappointed with my swordfish because it was only lukewarm.
Great breakfast with traditional takes and modern choices. Some of the best ambiance in London
Stumbled upon the Ivy Cafe. Good menu selection though could do with a bit more vegetarian and vegan options.
Will definitely go again.
I’ve eaten here several times and the food has been good, well cooked and presented, however the last meal was very poor. I won’t be rushing back. Is this another local restaurant that has lost it?
Vary nice lunch with extremely lovely waiting staff
Staff lovely, although I did call ahead to say it was a special birthday in the hope they may pick this up and join in celebrations like some good restaurants do and I fact as they did when we visited for my daughters birthday in August.
The birthday girl ordered steak medium rare but it was blue inside with lots of sinew.
The waiter kindly replaced the meal but with an equally rare piece of chewy meat. We left it as it was too late to order another meal. The steak was removed from our bill without request.
Professional staff, nice vibe! Need to change your meat supplier and not loose touch of those ‘special events’ people choose to celebrate in your establishment.
Excellent meal as usual. Minute steak was a little under done, prawn tempura was fabulous
Very pleasant as usual. Lovely ambiance , good service and nice food. Also a good buzz on a Monday evening
Food and the atmosphere was good .
I wasn’t impress the service at all.
Napkin and cutlery was missing for one person .
We asked waitress to bring them but no one brought them when starters are arrived and waitress didn’t notice at all .
I asked to hostess about it but she just bring them without saying anything and no sorry .
Totally disappointed with this services .
Once again a lovely meal and good attentive staff. Sunday lunchtime and great buzzy atmosphere
Always lovely to eat in the Ivy Cafe in Marylebone. Great atmosphere and the food is good too.
We had a table for 5. One guest arrived very and was smoothly accommodated to sit and have a coffee. We were all welcomed and looked after in a way that felt like we’d been coming for yeas. Super service. Great, smart, relaxed atmosphere. Fab!
Lovely spot, reminds me of Paris.
Overall the food was outstanding but only one dish of Veal was tough. The Veal was 'meal of the day'. Great place and service but on a Saturday, it's extremely noisy.
Warm welcome, fast efficient service. The food was great, loved the yellowfin tuna dish. Love the Ivy.
The food was good, but the service was terrible. The worst ever. They never asked us if we wanted more to drink or dessert. We had to ask for the dessertmenu, but even then They forgot us. We paid on our way out.
I used to love going to the Ivy Café for my favourite meal which is the Ivy classic Shepherds Pie, But for some reason this has changed. This is not anywhere as good as it used to be. I'm afraid I will not be visiting again.
From the superb welcome from the maitre d' followed by an introduction from our serving staff for the evening we knew this would be special. Food was wonderful...tuna sashimi, tempura prawns, salt and pepper squid, lobster linguine, lobster risotto and a bottle of Alborino (not forgetting the healthy option dessert..Melting chocolate bombe with a vanilla ice cream and honeycomb centre with hot salted caramel sauce...absolutely amazing from beginning to end! See you again soon!
Great food in lovely premises served by very attentive staff.
Lovely top venue and managing to make diners feel regulars
A rare skill
Very good and friendly service. Tasty food and presentation was lovely. Love the Seedlip drink!
Outstanding service but a bit crowded.
Food were great. Zucchini Fritti is my new favourite.
While our dining experience was very loud, this was primarily due to one rather self-absorbed person at the next table; otherwise the level was good for feeling part of a shared experience. Food, service and value all good. We particularly liked the decor and cosy feel - especially with heavy rain pelting down outside. It certainly felt a neighbourhood restaurant rather than a tourist one.
Lively restaurant serving delicious food in great surroundings. Friendly and personable staff. Highly recommended.
Consistently good, and much better than some of the others in the chair (eg Soho).
The heat in the restaurant, and the noise level very nearly spoiled our experience.
amazing, as always!
The staff all seemed to be trainees and did not know the menu. The starter of crab and salmon came without crab. When I asked what sauce the Special sole gougons was served with, the waitress did not know so she asked her colleague who just shrugged and said "gravy?" (!!!!) We also had t keep on asking for wine to be poured as the bottle was kept a distance from our table.
Thoroughly delightful ambience food excellent. Service very polite
Great location, great food and service - would highly recommend and will be going again!
Great ambiance, eclectic menu, lively.
I go to the Ivy regularly and the food is always great. Main course was delicious blackened cod and monkfish/prawn curry are a must. Drinks service can be a little bit slow and the space is slightly cramped but all in all a lovely dining experience on Marylebone Lane.
Nice welcome on arrival, was quite empty when we arrived but soon started to fill up and was full when we left. food was good, well presented and service was fine. Wine a bit pricey. Pudding was fab. Went as a pre Theatre meal with my Son and was very enjoyable.
We took some American friends so they could enjoy a fun and delicious English restaurant. The fish and chips were outstanding. People watching was great fun. We often dine at one of the ivy cafes around London when we are here and they never disappoint.
The service was excellent. Although my sister and I arrived 30 minutes prior to our booking, we were seated within 5 minutes, received attentive and good service throughout the meal. The food and beverages were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to a return soon.
