Fantastic as always. The welcome is as warm as ever. The atmosphere, service, food were wonderful. As to value for money - 2 courses, 2 people, 2 glasses of champagne and service for £100.00 No better place for lunch in London
Always pick this restaurant when dining in town. Never fails !
The Ivy Cafe on Marylebone Lane always is a first class dining experience, which includes both wonderful food and very attentive and friendly service. We go there often, and have never been less than highly pleased.
The noise level is quite high and that can make conversation difficult at times. The food is very good indeed as is the friendly service. My allergies were catered for really well. I enjoyed the excellent lamb (succulent and tasty) while my guest praised the fish of the day. The wine list is extensive and not expensive for that part of Town: we enjoyed an excellent Sauvignon Blanc. I will be taking other friends there soon.
Stopped in for my dad and partners final breakfast in London before heading back to Australia where food standards are extremely high. They had been disappointed with food all over Europe and the Uk but this was a really perfect end to an5 week stay. They said it finished their trip nicely. Staff extremely attentive, food is incredibly tasty and beautifully presented. I’ve been meaning to go for months...My work office is around the corner so I’ll be back regularly!
Very disappointing restaurant. Will not be returning.
The front of house at this particular Ivy restaurant is extremely rude and unwelcoming. She ruined our whole dining experience from start to finish. I have been to other branches of the Ivy and have not been made to feel this way.
It was my birthday and we were going to London fir the weekend I booked this restaurant well in advance. We waited 20 mins for our drinks when we ordered them seemed to be looking up how to make a French martini!!
My husband got the wrong main course fish instead of chicken but staff did dirt it out.
Bad slow service but decent food especially dessert
We were very late. We called. They kept the table even though they were very busy.
Our visit to The Ivy Cafe was for brunch. We were welcomed very warmly and seated straight away. The staff are charming and friendly. We were attended to immediately and our food was delicious. The only thing I would say I was disappointed with, was that I ordered a pot of tea and when the pot came it was small and barely gave me more than one cup of tea. It’s a wee bit mean at £3.95 a cup!! Everything else was very nice and I would def visit again.
From the very beginning you were made to feel welcome. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a delay in our cocktail order but this was recognised and rectified. Food was good and very good value especially for this part of Central London. We shall definitely come back
Second visit just as good as first. Great service and food.
Great restaurant, good value and great food. Definitely worth a visit 👍
Consistently good all round. Some annoying guests at the bar crowding our table. So the Manager gave us some drinks/money off the bill for the annoyance.
Hi we enjoyed our meal with but my host who paid the bill was disappointed that you did not have
Beer only lagers it would be a good idea if you supported English beers there are so many mini
Brewers in London that I’m sure you could get to supply your great establishments
I look forward to dining with you again.
Regards Ken Brickley.
We dined at the Ivy Cafe - Marylebone for brunch. It's such a great option. It's a really lovely setting with lots of favourite dishes to choose from on the menu. The service was friendly and speedy, which was perfect so we could hit the shops on nearby Oxford St.
Although we usually enjoy eating at The Ivy Cafe in Marylebone it was not a leisurely dining experience this time. When we booked an 8pm slot we were informed that the sitting was for two hours. However we were so rushed that we'd finished our starter and main course by 9pm! The couple on the next table got their starter and main course at the same time which they were not happy about and sent back the starter as didn't want to eat both together!
My partner wanted the slow cooked lamb but was told that they had run out as they only prepared 15 portions - for a busy Saturday night that seems crazy! My broccoli was so al dente that I couldn't cut it with an ordinary knife so the waiter brought me a steak knife! Shame my teeth aren't razor sharp as it was impossible to eat!
Rather disappointed as we were celebrating a special wedding anniversary and felt so rushed by the stone-faced waiter that it didn't feel like an extra special night out!
Brilliant hospitality nothing too much trouble and attentive waiting staff but also with good humour and personality!
Come here often and it never disappoints! Great atmosphere and great food. The best of all the Ivy Cafes!!
Good selection of food to suit all tastes. Food tasted as good as it looked. Good selection of wines. Reasonable pricing. Staff and service were good. Great venue for meeting up with friends for dinner and a catch-up.
This is by far my favourite Ivy Cafe. The staff really make this place, especially the fabulous gentleman host on the door. They show their personalities and make you feel very welcome and at ease right off the cuff not to mention they are knowledgeable about the menu. They pay attention to what you need and the little things add up to make it a really great experience. The whole menu is delicious, I struggle to choose every time, and the specials are always seasonal. Wine and cocktail menu is good with something on it for everyone. It was my friends birthday and the staff all wished him happy birthday and made him feel very special by bringing out a little pastry at the end. Really great atmosphere I would highly recommend this place!
Probably a one off disaster but nevertheless worrying to have experienced it given the number of times I have been there. N
Amazing staff and great food and wine
I love this place - always welcoming - food always consistent and good - buzzy
I went for romance and never again. There were business meetings going on at all angles that were loud. People beginning from breakfast and then treating it like an office.
The food was good but not amazing. It's a really nice place but I'd prefer it was just a place to meet friends.
The Ivy Cafe is a lively and vibrant restaurant serving lovely food. The service was excellent; the pace of service was just right and the staff were friendly and attentive.
I liked the decor, which helped to create a great atmosphere.
Definitely not a place for a quiet chat, but noise levels were manageable, adding to the restaurant's buzz and vibrancy.
I had the Ivy Shepard's Pie, which I enjoyed immensely, the meat was rich and very tasty: it was unpretentious and well presented.
I really enjoyed it and can most certainly recommend this restaurant
food was as good as it always is, however the service was borderline rude. Brusque treatment by our waiter - no attempt to welcome us, did not crack a smile throughout the time we were there, literally dropped the bill on the table at the end of the evening. people on the table next to us asked what we had done to upset him (!) I am used to warm and courteous service at the Ivy, but our waiter was clearly having an off day and as a consequence spoiled our evening.
Perfect place for a special occasion - lovely staff who were knowledgeable about the dishes which were delicious.
Lively and friendly The Ivy Cafe in Marylebone never lets you down. The menu is eclectic but everything on it is good. I really appreciate the great vegetarian food options and my selection was excellent. I was pleased to see that vegans are now catered for and indeed, my starter was vegan. All the food was delicious. Wine choice is excellent with something for everyone.. The whole evening was extremely good value for money.
Great food - the Zucchini is a must while deciding what else to order!
The food was good as expected. Quite noisy but it was a busy lunchtime. Would return but probably for breakfast which had always been brilliant
Was ok wouldnt go as far as to say anymore then that to be honest as I’ve been to better service was a tad scatty didn’t get the full order I asked for but equally I didn’t complain which I should have nevertheless my partner enjoyed his food said it was nice
Went for a lazy Sunday morning. Awful slow service. Ordered coffees, this took 20 minutes so opted against ordering food...
Excellent food, great service - would highly recommend.
I booked the Ivy Cafe - Marylebone for our 45th anniversary "post theatre" dinner. The reservation was late - at 23:hours and we arrived a few minutes before. We were given a very nice table.
We also had a very pleasant waiter.
As it was a special occasion, I ordered champagne, which arrived quickly.
As it was late, we only had one starter (to share), a prawn cocktail, which was very nice, but I also asked for some bread and butter, which didn't arrive until after we finished our starter. The waiter apologised, so no problem.
I ordered the minute steak with egg and chips and my wife had the crab linguine. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong main course, because the steak was not up to my liking, too much gristle and tough to chew. It was a mistake. My wife enjoyed her maincourse.
Whilst I was away, I think my wife told the waiter that it was a special anniversary and with the desert they served us with a very nice extra dessert, with a small piece of chocolate inscribed with "happy anniversary", a very nice touch.
Overall, it was a very pleasant evening there. Thank you.
The food was poor. main was cold and was sent back. No charge was made which was good service but the two of us ended eating out of sync. The salad had lettuce leaves which had died two days before. The chef must have been blind or more likely had gone home to send out a salad like this
Fabulous as always! Arancini are the best in the world! Fish was superb and service impeccable.
Fantastic food, excellent and prompt service, would highly recommend
Food and ambiance were great however we had to wait a long time to be able to order and to get the bill. They could do with more waiters.
