It was all amazing.
Love this place.
We enjoyed Easter Brunch here. It was a lovely 15-minute walk from South Kensington Station and we arrived about 20 minutes early. We enjoyed drinks at the bar while we waited for our table (lavender gin and tonic ... amazing!). Our table was ready about 15 minutes later than expected but they were very busy and the waiting at the bar was pleasant.
We got to our table and ordered more drinks (the Manhattan was so-so, but my son’s berry smoothie was fantastic). The prawn and lobster salad appetizer was fabulous. My husband and I each had the miso glazed chicken salad (perfect) and my son had the Ivy burger (also fabulous). We were too full for dessert but the crepe brûlée looked tempting, as did the chocolate bomb cake. Service was good and the whole meal took less than an hour. Glad we chose it!
Enjoyed an absolutely lovely easter brunch with my family. Food and ambiance was stellar. We definitely plan to return!
Very good the service, also the food, but difficult to have a good table..
Had an excellent meal in a very pleasant atmosphere. Enjoyed our evening out in the conservatory whete the staff were excellent
Slightly disappointed by the experience at Ivy Chelsea for various reasons. Upon arrival we waited for a table we had originally requested an outside table, however they were unable to fulfill our request which we understood. However, the entire time we were there there was a few tables outside which were not occupied.
We were served by a few different wait staff who were extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. When we asked for bread which was served basically as we finished our breakfast, we then asked for butter that took ages to arrive. There was no warm thanks or goodbye when leaving given the amount of staff standing about and at the front door.
I had also put a note into my booking to say it was my mums birthday, the girl at the front desk acknowledged it but then nothing was done to acknowledge it during our time there.
Amazing place and food
If you are looking at a venue for a romantic quiet meal, this is not the place to come to. The staff are really attentive and quick.
The restaurant is beautiful, we had drinks in the court yard and dined in the terrace; lovely surroundings. The food was good. The service and hospitality was lacking a little. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Wonderful birthday afternoon tea celebration
I love the Ivy Chelsea but this is the second time this month that i've been given a table next to children - often sitting on iPads... I have nothing against children (!) but don't choose to go to dinner and sit next to a table of them when I'm clearly there with my husband for a special evening (with my children in bed at home). Both times i've been moved but have had to ask for this when there are clearly lots of other tables available - this is clearly not thought through at all when sitting people.
Also, not the restaurant's fault but there was the most pungent, over powering smell of perfume throughout the whole of the main restaurant.. it made every mouthful of food taste like perfume.
Again, seating arrangements should have been changed to move those guests to somewhere less offensive! We skipped dessert and had coffee outside to give our noses a break. I think the Ivy staff really need to think more strategically about how the seating plan works - and consider the guest experience more.
It's a shame, I don't want to stop going but feel disappointed by the last few visits.
The restaurant is fabulous with a lovely atmosphere and great decor. Service is very good indeed. However the food let it down. Pate served with brioche bread was wrong - sweet bread with a lovely smooth duck pate just does not taste good. My prawn and monkfish curry was tasty but the monkfish was tough and sinewy. We had a 5 o'clock booking for a table for 3. We did not get our starters until 5.30 and at 7 pm we were asked for our table in spite of the restaurant being virtually empty, it was a Monday evening. I would go again but in the summer where you could possibly enjoy an afternoon tea out in the garden.
I genuinely love this restaurant. Food is excellent but I feel that the cost does not match the amount provided. I ordered the butternut squash & grain dish and my friend the chicken salad, we enjoyed our food but were not merely full :)
Excellent Service, excellent food, beautiful interior!!!
We were given vouchers for this restaurant as a Christmas gift and booked to go on Saturday night. We were seated in the conservatory which was cold and a draught was caused every time someone opened the door to the garden. We waited over half an hour for Ivy special gin and tonics and had to ask again. Starters were fine. My main course was lobster, which was chewy and came with cold chips. We ordered dessert but had to hurry coffee because we had to be out of the conservatory by ten. We were disappointed as we had been looking forward to it since Christmas! So, no , I will not be recommending this restaurant to friends . It was expensive and did not live up to expectations.
Great location, great service & as always the food was exceptional.
Brunch with friend
The service and quality of food was as amazing as always , I live 5 min walk from Ivy’s and urs my favourite spot for Saturday morning breakfast .
The atmosphere and food were good, but service was below average.
Fantastic experience! Decor, food and service were all impeccable. Courgette frites were a top favourite. Would highly recommend for date night/ occasions/ get togethers.
The service was appalling .Had to wait ages for the drinks and to take our order.
We had a booking for 5 o’clock but ended up getting there slightly early (4:40pm) so we went in to see if we could wait at the bar until our table was ready. From the moment we stepped foot inside, I was thoroughly impressed! The door was opened for us which I found very polite and welcoming, the staff were able to seat us straightaway by changing our booking to 4:35pm which suited us perfectly. The table was perfect, tucked away in a corner but still able to feel part of the atmosphere. The service was brilliant, we didn’t feel pressured to order as we do in some restaurants; they only came over once we had closed our menus and the drinks and food came out very quickly. The chicken Milanese was beautiful and fresh! My partner finished off with the chocolate bombe which he loved and I opted for the cappuccino cake which was delicious, though it did give me a bit of a caffeine rush unfortunately, however that is through no fault of the restaurant and all to do with me personally! I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of the meal and would have happily paid more for the experience/meal we had. The fresh flowers and plants throughout the restaurant were absolutely beautiful and tied in perfectly with the name! All in all a perfect meal and a wonderful way to celebrate my partner’s birthday before heading off to Covent Garden for a show.
I thought the whole experience was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly, accommodating all our requests. The food was plentiful and of high quality. I would definitely go again and so would my sister, who is extremely fussy usually! Well done to everyone who made this such a enjoyable late afternoon outing.
Bday treat - only thing to note is that all a bit fishy - our fault for not looking first
Overall it was a lovely visit. However, the clotted cream was over whipped and far too cold and it was very noisy. Apart from that it was a lovely afternoon tea.
Lovely setting and atmosphere but food and service distinctly average.
We were lucky enough to get a table in the room adjacent to the main dining area. As it was a catch up lunch perfect for us as was much quieter. Service excellent, both lovely ladies and very professional. Overall an excellent lunch.
Really lovely place to relax and enjoy good food with friends or family.
We loved it here! The food was great and the service was excellent. I do wish it had been made a little clearer on open table that the garden isn’t open until after 12pm because that was a bit disappointing for us. However, it was still a great spot!
Mistakes were made at every turn. Table laid for 6 when the booking was for 5. We were given the wrong starters, we were just about to tuck in and they were snatched away and given to the table next door! I was given another starter instead of a main course. Our side orders arrived after we had finished the main course. We were given hot chocolate to finish instead of coffee.
Casual but sophisticated environment, good food and excellent service
Our guests and us had the most amazing time as usual . Best place to invite friends , never disappointed .
It’s amazing place!!! I will recommend it to all my friends.
Asked for a quiet table and got one. Great service and a good spot for a lunch meeting
Love the food, service and cozy atmosphere! Amazing terraze for a sunny day.
Beautiful surroundings and impeccable friendly service.
A lovely restaurant, beautifully decorated with a great ambiance. Food is good, lots of choice so something for everyone and the staff are attentive.
Great birthday dinner - lovely food environment, location and staff very attentive
