Food was amazing!
I have eaten in most IVY and the steak was poor!
The waiter we had seemed to be not very pleasant and service was slow maybe it was busy
Great service. It was all kicked off by amazing staff at the front door. They were very professional and charming, setting the tone for the rest of the evening.
All in all, an excellent night here. However, it was a little disappointing that it was assumed we wanted to be sat outside at the back as soon as we arrived, where service was a little slow - it seems that they are more attentive to those sitting in the main restaurant as we then found (we were moved inside on request). Not usually something I am too bothered by, but I think for somewhere like this where people book long in advance it needs to be addressed as it can impact the dining experience from the get-go if certain parts of the restaurant feel 'forgotten'.
I was really disappointed this time round at the Ivy. Usually a lovely experience but the service was extremely poor with inexperienced waiters. Food was cold and slapdash. Will not come again.
Great atmosphere and very professional service. Would really recommend for anyone who would like to have enjoyable evening.
From the minute we say down, the waitress was trying to get us to leave. We were aware of the need to vacate the table by 9.15 but the pressure the staff put us under from the first minute was unacceptable. Ruined the evening.
Service was terrible. Food was ok. Slightly overpriced. Wouldn’t go again.
Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and incredible service.
Loved our evening meal at The Ivy Chelsea Garden. Enjoyed the suggestions of our waitress, Gabby. She was spot on and excellent. The only thing I would suggest is that if the table is needed by another party as of a certain time then notify us at the beginning of the meal. Otherwise, if mentioned at the end of the meal, we feel rushed and we feel as if we are being thrown out. Not nice.
Yet again, great service, food and overall experience!
I had an anniversary dinner this evening.
There was a long, long wait for the second course.
Cherri had ordered rare steak; it came over-cooked.
At the end of the meal, I was ready to pay the £172.80 bill, plus a generous tip for the Russian waitress, but we felt the need to mention the over-cooked steak.
The waitress called the ‘manager’.
He refused to accept that anything had been wrong, said that he hadn’t seen it, and, despite Cherri showing him a photo of a patently over-cooked steak, offered no apology or reduction.
He implied that HE was trying to sort things out and that it was ME who was being difficult.
I decided to pay the bill, but with NO tip. I apologised to the waitress.
On our way out, we asked to see the ‘real’ (?) manager.
I think he may have been the joint manager, but he was even worse than the first.
He informed us that Ivy steaks are ‘browner’ than most steaks and that he had 31 years of experience of steaks and management (obviously NOT of diplomacy). When I baulked at this nonsense, he accused me of rudeness…and himself of tact.
I gave up at his intransigence and walked away.
I assume he assumed I was drunk. I wasn’t.
I shall never go back there.
Since I’m living in Chelsea the best restaurant that I went. The place really surprise us. Love it!
It’s difficult to say I would recommend it. I think the restaurant itself looks fab but I have really really never rated the food whether it be in the restaurant or the times I have eaten in the private rooms. It’s Ok. The service is usually appalling. Every year my friend and I go for her birthday in October and mine end of Nov. We have done this since it opened so we just keep doing it. We know the service is bad. The food is ok etc etc but it’s buzzy and nice and eventually a more experienced staff remember is around to sort out food issues etc. Yesterday there were way to many kids, prams, babies screaming which I have not noticed on previous visits. On the plus side we did not get hassled a lot giving up our table etc which often happens. The kids and high chairs etc aren’t great.
Love it here. Really fun. Great Food. Lovely staff.
It was noisy because there was live music, which we like it, but still noisy.
Nice meal with colleagues - sat out the back in the conservatory lacked atmosphere & got quite nippy but amazing food
Lovely ,really lovely.it was difficult to hear but it is such a big room and so beautiful , we did not mind so much. Thank you
Food came too quickly and then staff were constantly hovering over us
Food was good, though the service was rude and the server was arrogant and neglected
British style, elegant but informal.
Love this place and its atmosphere
Service was very slow but the Manager very apologetic and made a refund so overall happy
Food was good however the service we received was appalling, from the constant ask for some one to take our coats, having the tickets thrown on table, asking everyone to order drinks, wrong food brought to table and stroppy attitude from staff! Staff let the food and beautiful decor down will not return
I visited the Ivy Chelsea Garden with two friends for brunch. Having visited a number of times before and receiving great food and service I was extremely disappointed with the experience. Once seated we waited half an hour to receive our drinks. We then ordered our meals however two of my friends ordered eggs Benedict and their eggs were hard boiled rather than soft. All of our chips were stale and cold. We asked for some fresh chips and were told a manager would be over to see us which was slightly intimidating. This never happened but the chips were replaced with no apology or explanation as to what was going on. We were only asked how our meal was when we had finished and had no opportunity to flag the issues we had faced. The waitress then picked up my own metal straw out of my drink and said this is interesting. I thought what was invasive and unhygienic. I do not expect service like this from the Ivy and am disappointed as it was my friends birthday.
I usually love Ivy Chelsea Garden, but this time everything was so annyoing. I asked four days in advance for a table on the terrace - they told me: "sure madam, we'll do that" and I didn't get the table I wanted on Sunday. We sat just by the entrance. On top of that everything took so long. They forgot our coffee, as well as our water. We had to ask twice for the bill, as the waiter didn't bring it after asking him the first time. We were really disappointed by the Service on Sunday.
me and my family had a lovely meal at the Iv Chelsea Garden, it was my third time eating there, but first time going as a family, and we all enjoyed our meal. The service was really good, and I love the restaurant! Great spot in London, and one of my new favourite places to eat after the Oblix at the Shard.
The Ivy is a gorgeous setting, the ambiance is fantastic and the food was outstanding. Only thing which left a sour taste in my mouth was when seated we were asked if we would like water, tap I responded. Only to return from the bathroom with a £5 bottle of water open and poured on our table. Would have preferred less up selling and prompter service.
It was a fantastic place for us visitors our very first afternoon teas. We did not expect how much food we actually received and all of it
We had our sons 6th birthday breakfast there and we had excellent service who made us feel very welcome. And my son had an amazing time
although having prebooked 20:30 we had to wait and stand for 20 minutes , Saturday of course...
Service friendly and attentive but stressed -of course- very noisy place, but lovely ambiance
Enjoyed the attentive service and the Parisian feel of the restaurant.
We loved our space in the garden area but I didn’t know it’s a smoking area. I think it should be informed about it if I’m happy to sit in a smoking area. I’m non smoker so yeah. ;(. Thank god only two tables were smoking and we were about to leave.
great food great environment
Fantastic and absolutely great service from the waiter Momo Bulgaria.
Your staff at the welcome desk certainly know how to make guests unwelcome. it feels there is a preference given to regular customers. we were given the worst table in the restaurant for my birthday celebration - i have been 2 times before in the conservatory - the internet states you cannot book and that the conservatory is first come first served. there were free tables there but they did not allow us one - we had to wait 30 minutes for a garden table and no one seemed to care.
the food when it came was excellent.
Excellent service and nice table in the corner as requested
The restaurant was too busy and the waitress was dressed and there were accidents with food being spilled at our table snd another . Including bangs and crashes by kitchen .
We enjoyed an anniversary dinner here recently. We sat outside by the fire, great live music playing all evening. Fantastic service and very tasty food!
