Always delicious and such a beautiful restaurant as well as great staff.
This is now my 4th time at the Ivy and I always hope it's going to improve. It doesn't. The brunch service is awfully slow - we waited 25 minutes for a coffee that wasn't even that good. The 'smoothie' came out in 2 mins though, proving that it was just poured from a jug, not freshly made. The waitress was awful, no charm no service, when I asked her where our coffees were she just answered "yes", walked off and served someone else. I've finally had enough of the Ivy and WONT be returning - save your money, there's many better places.
Parfait, cadre magnifique, plats tres bons et soignés !
Had booked a table but was asked to wait at the bar. 15 minutes later we still had not been seated yet everyone else were given a table straight away. Had to remind them a few times that we were still waiting.
Finally got seated and food was lovely, however we were given someone else’s bill at the end which was a lot more expensive than ours. They corrected it quickly but just didn’t have the best customer service which is a shame as we were really looking forward to visiting the ivy chelsea garden. Won’t return. I had also let them know what we were celebrating my 30th Birthday and no one said happy birthday.
Lovely treat breakfast in lovely setting and reasonable prices for food (drinks are more expensive). Waitress was lovely, when she forgot our coffees she kindly immediately put them on the house which was kind.
Absolutely wonderful, but the service felt just a little rushed. Otherwise 5 stars all around!
I booked a table for my son's wedding meal. I made this very clear. We arrived early and so were sat at another table for a drink before the time slot for our table. Ten minutes AFTER our timed dinner reservation I went to ask about our table, only to be told it had been given to another party. We had nowhere to sit. There was much confusion with nobody knowing what to do. It made our celebration dinner very upsetting for the bride and groom. We were finally given another table 30 Minutes after our reservation, with no apology.
I had the champagne tea. Every bite was delicious. My husband and children enjoyed their entrees. Best gin and tonics. Lovely ambiance and excellent service.
My friend & I booked a table for 3pm, as I was running late they kindly pushed back my reservation to 3:15pm which was very helpful. When we were seated we were forgotten about for at least 20mins. Once our afternoon tea finally arrived I was disappointed to find only 3 very small sandwiches, two sweet treats each and a scone. We were never asked if we’d like the sandwiches replenished and our tea was cold. The presentation of everything was lovely, the restaurant very pretty along with the tableware.
On leaving the hotel I was handed my coat, having a couple of bags in my hand and being pregnant, 3 members of staff watched me struggle which I found very disappointing.
Unfortunately I will not be recommending the The Ivy Chelsea Garden.
Just an amazing experience! Everything was absolutly perfect and of high level. Such a really precious place in the heart of London. I loved it!
This is the third Ivy cafe restaurant I am dining in and I can say that, overall, the food and service quality is consistent to the food served in the other Ivy restaurants (they all have the same menu) and very delicious to my taste and all the family and friends I introduced to it. I was meeting with a friend that I haven’t seen in a long time on this occasion and I picked Ivy as I know it never disappoints, its elegant, refined, food is always tasty, service is always professional yet very friendly and has a great, slightly romantic ambiance. Top marks from me!
The food was lovely, however the service was appalling!! Far too many staff and none of them have even adequate customer service skills. From the moment we sat down the staff had an attitude as if everything was too much for them. We ordered hot drinks and had to chase once our food arrived, then asked another person 10 minutes later, then another, then in the end we’d finished our meal and I said to the staff I’m sorry this is unacceptable. Then the drinks finally show, however my cappuccino was ice cold and my sisters tea was bought with no milk and no sugar. I have to ask again, please can we have the milk, we wait 5 minutes, have to ask again, we wait 5 minutes until I again have to say this is completely unacceptable, only to have a 4th member of staff come over and say “how can I help” it took all the strength I had not to scream at this point, we’d been waiting nearly an hour for a drink and a further 15 minutes for milk for the tea. No apologies, no reduction on the bill and a real ‘attitude’ from all the staff!! Will not be returning and will certainly warn anyone from going.
The food was dry nice as always. The service was not up to standards unfortunately, everything seemed to take a long time. We waited 20 minutes before anyone brought us water.
Our new favourite special place to celebrate and have fun
Service was too slow, time between starters and main course was too long
Love the Ivy Chelsea Garden. Especially sitting in the garden on a sunny day for lunch with friends or family listening to the waterfall with the beautiful greenery and decor. My favourite place for lunch in London on a sunny day! Great food and service and a lovely atmosphere.
lovely table lovely lunch everyone friendly I love this place
A last minute booking for 10 people. They accommodated ya so well and was terrific service
We love the Ivy, Chelsea and have had many great nights there, unfortunately our overall experience was not up to the normally high standards, just an off night I’m sure and we will be back. Think waiter was new and whilst perfectly pleasant perhaps needed some more training or supervision. We chose the wrong white to start but enjoyed the second bottle after changing, food was good but not great like normal, still a great menu though. Maitre D was very polite but again could’ve been a bit more on it in terms of helping with our drinks when going from bar to table and I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday which seemed to be immediately forgotten? Great table and setting though. Hopefully back on form next time.
We had a lovely time it's very welcoming place to go thank to all
The head waiter poured another tables wine into my wine glass then begrudgingly knocked a pathetic £10 off the bill!
Perfect food, amazing place
A shout out to Silvia for a lovely service. We really enjoyed our time in ivy Chelsea garden, the atmosphere was lovely, the food as well and we appreciate the friendliness of Silvia and her advices.
Five star service food drinks and atmosphere
We had a beautiful table and felt very well looked after - what a fabulous night for my father’s 70th birthday. Thank you Ivy team for making it such a success xx
Lovely place to sit for a couple of hours enjoying a drink and delicious food. I love the conservatory, it’s like being outside but protected from our changeable weather.
A little disappointed that my gin and tonic came with a single use plastic stirrer. By now somewhere as well known as The Ivy ought to have moved away from plastics and on to sustainable materials for their accessories.
I had booked ahead and requested an outside table but was told none were available. The next people to arrive behind us were taken straight to the garden so I am not sure why we were not allowed to be seated there. Perhaps the space is for regulars only? The afternoon tea was nice enough and the cakes were lovely, but we had pretty much finished everything before our actual tea arrived. I had to ask 3 separate people for it and it only arrived once we had pretty much finished. I was told to please be patient.... I am pretty patient but perhaps if there is an issue with hot drinks then the scones/cakes etc should also be delayed? Its not a bad price and a convenient location but I wouldn't recommend.
First visit to Ivy Garden Chelsea and we weren’t disappointed. We had a lovely table, food was delicious, service was attentive without being overpowering and would thoroughly recommend. It was busy and catered for a wide variety of people - couples, friends, work colleagues, families with children. They have a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks which was a bonus.
Nobody told us to write a special request to sit at the garden part. Instead, i made our 4 people reservation one month earlier from our arrival, they sit us inside the restaurant. Plus, visitors after us sat at the garden and when we pointed that issue, they said us we didn’t want a special request.
Had afternoon tea and the food, service, atmosphere was superb. And extremely reasonably priced when compared with so many other places in London.
Well the whole venue and the girl in he clock room were pretty and elegant. But that’s about it, unfortunately.
Food - we had special tuna that happened to be over cooked so much that you can use it as a weapon. I had to eat it all as don’t want to disappoint my friend that I haven’t seen for 7 years.
Waiter was hard to get attention of, management ( maybe) were looking stunning but no attention at all even that we have been waiving for 5 min to get our bill. We have been served with 3 different waiters but one was completely out of basic service rules , no smile , no attention to the details, he was a bit arrogant and always kicking my chair ( around 4 times) he apologized all the time but that looked like a joke
And the last bit is the atmosphere- I was offered a table for 2 and my seat was in front of the wall light that was super bright and uncomfortable, after sitting there for 40 minutes I was praying to finish ASAP that dinner and head off.
We paid £130 ( we haven’t have any starters and only 1 dessert ) a bit pricey but still I wouldn’t mentioned if that experience have been done successfully, but unfortunately it wasn’t , the most disappointing- it was my choice to go there ( It is quite famous and I have never been there) as my friend suggested Hide restaurant🙁
Positive points - restaurant decor looks great
Amazing place, food and staff. This is defo somewhere I will be going again!
Great place great location great foods great people
Fantastic service and food, beautiful venue. Will definitely come again. Fantastic spot for a special occasion!
I’m sadened to say that this was a disappointing experience. I booked a table for myself and two friends who where visiting from America. As they were only in London for a few days I wanted to take them to something very British so I decided afternoon tea at the ivy was perfect. On arrival two lady’s greeted us with a sour face, and a very uncomfortable vibe. After them asking for my name three times and telling me there was no booking, I showed them my booking confirmation. After the lady on the door finally accepting that we had booked, the other lady just looked at me as if she was judging me and then walked us to our table without even speaking or showing a smile. As I have worked in this industry myself I thought I would let it go as I do understand some days are harder than others and that day just might of been a bad day. Then my friend from America arrived and was taken to our table, without me even mentioning my experience she said that she had the same thing happen to her, that the two lady’s at the front were very rude and made her feel very uncomfortable. At this point I was so upset that her first impression of the uk was so rude and cold that I feel the need to complain! People don’t appreciate being greeted so badly, the people at the front of house are the face of the company. If you have a bad first impression from the people on the door then it isn’t setting a good example for the rest of the experience. I don’t normally complain ,but I am so upset with this experience as I thought the ivy prided themselves on how they deal with customers I never dreamt that there staff could be so rude. If I knew what I knew now I would of taken her to a different venue.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes!
We usually get very attentive waiters, this time the waiter was not so attentive or nice. Also the front of house staff is a bit arrogant.
Very rude weiter and service. Quality of the foods are too poor. They should improve the quality of waiters and service.
We celebrated Eid Aladha with family and had a great time. Highly recommended.
