Very nice place but the service is extremely poor and the quality of food is not exceptional.
The beginning was very nice... but dinner service dropped at the end. The drinks/desert were not served at all.
Our reservation has been forgotten! We were waiting for an hour!
Great staff, great food.. Have been to many of their restaurants and love the Ivy at Chelsea Garden
We really enjoyed the enperience, but the service was not great
got a table in the garden- amazing experience! lovely food and service. definitely recommend
After booking a table for brunch at 11 we had to wait 45mins for a table. When questioning why the wait we were told today is just a slow day.
After being sat we ordered drinks which came after our food.
I wish I could say it was worth the wait. Eggs royal was a big disappointment. Very cold eggs which were not runny in the centre. Sauce was also cold and served with a stale muffin.
I was really looking forward to this booking as I have been in for drinks before and had a fantastic experience.
It just seemed there was a lack of staff and it all got a bit too much for them.
Beautiful restaurant with impeccable service and lovely food
Best breakfast of all time
Seated late. Service inattentive to outright poor. Order wrong (there was only 2 of us, 2 appetizers, 2 mains, one of the appetizers was wrong). Food mostly bland (jackfruit peanut salad was good). Very nice ambience. Very reasonable prices, though I’d pay more for better service and food.
Great food- have dined with friend there multiple times-disappointed with the amount of food and wine we were having that service wasn’t the stellar service I’m used to.. really no welcome or friendly greeting to the table- went right into ‘here’s the specials’.. appeared impatient.. understand the night was busy , but didn’t feel special like I normally have in the past
However, they were very busy on the day, possibly under-staffed, thus waited 45minutes between mains and starter. Waiters and staff were very polite and friendly. Like the chain/brand, had better experiences in the smaller retaurants (Richmond & Covert Garden).
Service was very slow, took a while for our table to be ready. Food was very good though
Fabulous food and drink, however the service was very poor and impersonal at both the bar and from the waiting staff, which spoilt the whole experience.
We were very lucky as it was a gorgeous day and we were able to sit in the garden which is truly beautiful. The food was delicious and the service was attentive despite it being very busy. A great birthday treat!
Food was delicious and great ambiance. I thought the breakfast menu was available until 11:30 so was surprised at 11:15 when it wasn’t. Nonetheless there was an avocado benedict which was delicious.
Despite the booking they let us wait for 30 minutes and extremely rude services..
Food wonderful had lobster risotto and tempura prawns to start, really good
For main courses turbut with capers and lobster linguine ,special birthday treat fabulous.
Service good,very friendly waiters
Beautiful ambience, garden lovley
Wish we had been told prior to arriving that you have to arrive by 7 45 pm to have a chance of seating in garden or maybe call to request as garden was very special we only had a little time to look round after dining in main area which was good but not as romantic and beautiful
Finished with rum baba and creme brulee
All in all great night ,one we will remember
We ate lunch here last week and it was phenomenal! Our waiter, Julian, was excellent with impeccable service! He made sure everything was catered to our needs. He truly made an already brilliant lunch even better!
The checking in staff were not welcoming - they seemed pre occupied with what was happening in the Kings Rd - and despite having booked a table - and advising them of this- were not 'booked in' and received a message later in the evening telling us that we had failed to attend !
Having been taken to a table - next to a couple who were shouting quite loudly on their phones - next to a roaring gas fire - on a very hot afternoon, we requested a different table - (there were many empty tables) - which seemed to cause the Maitre D a few problems - but with hind sight that might have been because our reservation had not been checked in !
My other observation - was that we were amongst people who smoked - is this allowed even though the table was outside - not very acceptable to non smokers. I did not see any one being asked not to smoke - and there were ashtrays on the tables ! _ Put these people in a separate area - away from those who choose to look after their health.
Not sure that I would return - as the experience can be obtained elsewhere. Thanks
Everything was so good!
Really great quality food and really attentive staff as well. Fantastic ambience and in a great location. Yes, it is quite expensive but you definitely get your money’s worth and I can’t wait to come back
Great food, great service, nice ambience and a lovely table in the orangery!
Lovely food, lovely restaurant, lovely decor, great service...
All was good. Food was good but nothing to write home about. However service was rather slow and we were waiting quite sometime between courses.
The atmosphere was really nice and the food was good.
The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived and the girl wanted to sit us right next to another couple, encroaching on their privacy when there were so many other tables to choose from. It seemed stupid and inconsiderate. So we asked to sit further away. When another couple came in, she then placed them right next to us - why! I can't understand that, not overly pleasing for customers so please note.
Great staff, food was really nice.
Great service, usually great food however this time very poor
Greedy, greedy, greedy restaurant owners. In an effort to squeeze in an extra table we were put right next door to the band - as in the double bass was 6" from my chair! No way would we be able to hear what any of our party was saying without shouting. Funnily enough when we complained and refused to sit there the waitress said everyone put at the table complains..... Hello people listen to your customers!! Luckily Pedro managed to switch things about but it did mean we had to wait and then had to move half-way through our meal which broke up our evening. The food was excellent however and the waiter did try very hard to make up for the very bad start to our evening.
Brilliant night. Lively, buzzy atmosphere. Excellent food. Waiter who served us was superb. Friendly and efficient. I wish I'd asked for his name to mention to management. Outstanding value. Smashing venue for a night out with friends
Really lovely restaurant and service is Fantastic. Only negative thing is I have been here a couple of times and menu hasn't changed. Would be nice to see a few more choices that change Month-Month.
Lovely outdoor lunch on a lovely sunny day, thank you.
The waiters are lovely but the girls on the door think they’re God’s gift! I asked for a table without a booking (it wasn’t busy) and it was as if I’d asked for her to magic a table out of thin air. Second time this has happened. I stood and booked a table on OpenTable right in front of her - silly cow! They really need to sort their attitude, not welcoming at all. It may be part of the Birley Group but they’re not bloody Caring himself so should stop acting like arrogant prats. Go to the original ivy and they’ve move mountains for their customers, horrific attitude on the Kings Road.
Had a lovely night celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary The food was lovely Presentation was lovely good atmosphere I did ask for ketchup and Still waiting on it but overall had a lovely night with my wife
There are just too many great restaurants in the area with smiling welcoming staff to put up with the Ivy’s attitude. Life is too short.
We ordered 2 fillet steaks, one rare, one medium rare. The rare one was totally overcooked. The medium was good but the steak was cold. We sent them back and specifically asked the the medium one be kept warm. Two fresh meals came out and the medium steak was now rarer than the rare steak. I could not eat it. I didn't complain a second as the evening was now ruined. They also charged for both steaks.... The man beside us also sent his steak back. The restaurant is lovely and the waiting staff were excellent. I doubt I will go back and if so it will be only for drinks.
Visiting London and remembered the IVY to be a great foodie and atmosphere. However, this time the experience was underwhelming. It started with the seating and attitude therein, "Americans"? And there is a service charge automatically put on your bill despite the level of service..... The food was good and the special gin cocktail excellent. Overall, not worth the hype anymore and seems to be running on reputation or perhaps is simply more accommodating to locals which is a shame in a worldwide city.
Lovely restaurant which manages to be both buzzy and intimate and serves delicious food.
Disappointing: we booked 16h30 Sunday afternoon tea and told to be there on time. Our table wasn’t ready. Once seated, ordered the afternoon tea WITH English breakfast tea. Our food arrived promptly but without tea. We asked three times for the tea and was told there was a problem behind the bar. 45 minutes later, the tea arrives in glasses best used for Irish Coffee, each with a single tea bag inside it. No plate to put the tea bags on, no spoon, no saucer and no milk. All we had to pester for and arrived separately after further delay. Drinking tea from a glass tumbler, not served from a pot is, simply put, an embarrassment in London. One of our guests had asked for vegetarian and was served a chicken sandwich on her tea stand! We had to ask for cutlery and plates and again after the savoury sandwiches (some of my guests decided not to wait and use the plates that were on the stand itself)! There are no spoons for the items that required that. When we re-ordered a second cup of tea, we had the same process and same glass tumblers with a tea bag bobbing in them. . Alongside us, a table did have a pot of tea per person. Difficult to understand what was going wrong in the kitchen / bar. The waiter apologised when the bill arrived and removed the second round of tea. We would not return and cannot recommend tea at the Ivy.
Amazing as always . Always enjoy eating at Chelsea Ivy .
