Went for Saturday breakfast, was not disappointed. Beautiful establishment.
The food that I ate was not well prepared. It was monkfish and prawn curry. Whoever prepared the monk fish failed to take the membrane off and it was extremely chewy and some pieces inedible. The coconut yoghurt was far to sweet and not a very good quality yoghurt. The other meal was chicken Milanese. Ordered with a vegetable, broccoli that never arrived. Ordered a hot mint chocolate drink. The drink was cool and no mint taste. Not the best experience. However the staff were friendly.
Excellent unique and healthy menu. Loved it. Top service too. Only problem is was incredibly loud. A packed venue; everyone shouting.
I have always enjoyed this restaurant until my recent visit. Worst service with a condescending, rude manager.
They could not have made for a worse evening if they had tried. However, astonishingly, it seemed to come quite naturally.
We recently had dinner at the Ivy Chelsea Garden, the food was good however our starters took one hour to arrive! There seemed to be masses of waiters working but we did not feel that well looked after. We decided against a pudding as we couldn't face the wait. I prefer this restaurant at lunchtime.
Beyond outstanding , thank you for the great experience
One of my favorite restaurants! Incredible food, incredible service!
The Ivy Cafe is always a winner and the one on the King’s Road is a personal favourite.
Its such a hit and miss, this place. Beautiful setting but I swear that that’s what they bank on because service can be all over the place. Today for breakfast we were sat by the hostess and asked about our choice of bottled water, taken then walked off. 15 mins were still waiting for the water and someone to come over. After making contact with a person we decided to order everything because who knows how long it would take for someone to come back. The food actually came out in pretty good timing even though the toast came out almost 10 mins prior so it went cold by the time our food arrived. The food is good. It’s hot. Presentation is good. Food is tasty. It’s breakfast so you can’t get it too wrong. I’ve always enjoyed their lunches. I’ve always thought their food to be good. Is it exceptional? Well no but for the ambience it’s a good choice.
I personally think from the very beginning that I’ve been going there, that it’s management. Either they’re really crap at training their wait staff or management doesn’t know what they’re doing. It’s too long for the teething pains. Having said all that, you can’t get in. It’s always booked up. So in their eyes, do they need feedback? Nah not really.
I couldn't fault it. Our whole evening was spectacular.
Good food, good service. Noisy. Unfortunately, this is the case in 95% restaurants in London
Have been to this restaurant many times and am a great fan. To be honest some of the service in the past has been "ok". However this last visit, it was excellent. Such a great waiter who helped to make the evening.
I brought my partner here for his 30th birthday and the experience was perfect. We sat in the heated outdoor garden seating area which was perfectly quintessentially English. The waiter was fantastic and the food was incredible. Definitely a highlight to his birthday break and we will be back again
had to carry own drink from the bar to the table, my colleague's drink was the wrong drink order, the server mentioned the wrong dish, then retracted to correct - female toilet's were disgusting. for the nature of the establishment and location - definitely not up to standard. Food was good, but seemed too little too late.
The Ivy is a charming restaurant for Afternoon tea. We have visited before and we were so looking forward to it on this visit to London. Although the food was still great, we had a horrible waitress who was gruff and brought our tea but then we had to wait quite a while for our scones. Once these were brought then had to wait for plates then again for our cutlery. Never did she smile or try to make our visit a nice experience. Hopefully she won't serve you!
Great atmosphere and amazing eggs royal
This is and has been since opening the dot on the card!! Delicious food, great ambience and outstanding interior design and garden.
I made an request in advance to sit at the terrace. They told me terrace is fully booked.I usually go there and today I have an special guest.I am unsatisfied and probably I will not go there again..
Great food, very nice location, just a little bit too noisy.
The restaurant is really nice especially to eat in the garden. Attractive place, good food, service we had an unpleasant waiter.
The service was fantastic, very organised and attentive staff, visually it looked like there were several managers on the floor. Our server Alex was outstanding, he was very charming, made us giggle and he remembered any specific comments we made I.e. Who was driving and wouldn’t need a wine top-up etc. He is an asset to the team, I always think it’s great when their personality comes through and not robotic. Thank you Alex!
I was glad we had a table under a spot light but I noticed if we were at any other table it would have been a problem as the lighting is so low one can’t read the menu. I noticed many people had this problem so hopefully the Ivy could work on this where possible.
The food was outstanding! - cooked perfectly and prices are reasonable. My only criticism (two others who got the same dish as me, the lamb shoulder, also felt this) that the vegetables served with it were too hard, they would have been perfect if they were al-dente to the bite rather than a shock to crunch them!
For our first time at the Ivy for mums birthday - we were so impressed and would love to come again. I would like to come back for my anniversary x
Always pretty and amazing food! Even better coffee
Enjoyed the meal the service and the atmophere. Next time I would like to sit in the conservatory.
We had a reservation for 2. My friend arrived on time and I was 15 minutes late due to traffic. She was seated. I arrived and she had ordered a drink. I order a bottle of wine from the wine list but it was apparently unavailable. The waiter brought me another bottle without asking if I’d like to see the wine list again.
After we finished our main meal he just came and said they needed the table and proceeded to put us at a tiny table in the bar area! So we could order dessert, because basically our meal was cut short!
Very poor service!! I have never been to a restaurant where you are treated like cattle! Herded in and out within a specific time frame!
Great lunch with family. The food and service was great!
Was not the best of English breakfast, black pudding was hard, mushrooms under cooked, beans cold!
Service very slow
In the past much better
Probably a bad morning!!!
Very average food , buzzy ambience and good service
Top marks except the time we had to wait for mains and desert. Needs to be a little faster.
Made reservation weeks in advance as a special occasion with distinguished international hotel CEO couple and they wants to dine in a restaurant they could then recommend to their hotel guests. Wet and windy evening yet allocated table outside but reassured there was a fire - ladies were in silk shirts and far too cold to sit outside. Then offered table right in middle of restaurant walkway from door to conservatory. Asked for table in main restaurant and informed they were all reserved - asks why I couldn’t have a better located table and all I was told was they are reserved ! CEO not impressed with table allocated to us and now no doubt won’t be recommending the Ivy Chelsea. The IVy in Cobham by far superior in their welcome and also try to accommodate guest requests (and with a smile on their faces compared to snarling Chelsea crowd!).
We sat in the garden area next to a cosy fireplace, beautiful setting and atmosphere.
The food and service were both excellent and they could not have been more informative and accomondating with my daughters food allergies (nut and gluten).
Highly recommend ... we’lol definitely be returning!
I’m a huge fan and repeat customer of The Ivy brand, and have been for many years. However, on all levels my dining experience on Thursday (Oct 11th) evening was below par for an “Ivy” restaurant. Very poor service, which left us frustrated, feeling rushed, no time to eat our starter before the mains arrived. The table was far too small for our food, drinks and condiments.
Then to crown it all, after asking for the bill and waiting 12mins, we left the table and paid the bill at the door as we left, before raising our disappointment with a manager.
An unsatisfactory dining experience, which really should have been a delight.
Great place and potentially great food. However, staff is rude. That ruined the whole experience to be honest. I’d ordered something and it wasn’t well done. Waitress was a pain and basically blamed me.
Fabulous unobtrusive service. Very good food, beautifully presented and a gorgeous looking venue.
Very nice and good service and food
I will highly recommend this place for social and business meals
Very disappointing birthday dinner at The Ivy. I thought the food was very mediocre and very expensive. I don't mind paying top dollar if the food is to match but it wasn't. Also we were slung out of the garden at 9.45pm. I was told the garden was heated but it was fine at 7.45pm but by 8.30pm had started to get chilly. The blankets provided smelt - as the diner next to me pointed out. All in all a disappointing evening and I will not be back for dinner although Brunch is ok there. It seems to be the restaurant is for the fash pack who want to be seen but if you couldn't care less about being seen then there's little point in jumping through all the hoops you have to to get a table and then suffering the food which frankly verged on bad.
Twas yummy! Tremendous food and a Brillo time!!!!!!!!!
The bookings team went above and beyond to accommodate us, even when we had a last minute extra and they were very booked.
Helpful and friendly waiting staff, perhaps a little slow to take the orders, but it was busy. The restaurant is beautiful and the garden is a complete dream, even in the Autumn with heaters and an open fire.
Food was good and some dishes were excellent.
Really enjoyed the meal, service and ambiance. Thank you for a lovely evening
My reservations was made through open table. When I arrived, the restaurant couldn't find my reservations. I finally got a table when I showed my email from you. I came from Hong Kong, a long way and reservations made months ago. A shock when I went in with my friends.
