Ivy Kensington Brasserie
Sample our extensive range of quality food and delicious cocktails at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or are visiting some of London’s best loved landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall.
Our garden terrace is situated at the back of our restaurant and provides the perfect respite away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Adorned with flowers and foliage, it is the perfect spot to soak up the sun during the summer months. Due to the nature of British summer our terrace cannot be booked ahead, so please just pop in.
Open seven days a week and comprised of a main restaurant, bar and a semi-private table for ten for an extra special experience, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
Great food and not too pricey - our only complaint was that the main came so quickly after our starters, next time I’d ask them to give us time to pause for breath !
Beautiful delicious birthday breakfast celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Even a lovely birthday pastry with candle. Thank you for making it extra special.
Each Ivy restaurant has a similar design which seems high quality. Food was ok, but expensive for what it is. Good overall atmosphere and waiter was entertaining!
Good food in a nice atmosphere with a buzz. A good staple
We went there for breakfast. The food was very tasty.
The staff was also very kind.
I recommend this address.
An outstanding experience! They welcomed us with a genuine smile and accommodated on the table without waiting a minute. The drink and the meal were amazing too. A quiet place that I really loved to share with dear friends of mine.
Up to the usual Ivy standard of deco, food and service.
Service was very poor. Very slow. Took us 15 mins to get a glass of water
We were a party of four meeting for lunch. We felt well looked after and all our starters and mains were very tasty and well plated. Would happily return.
Food generally quite nice, but quantities small. Overall value so-so.
Forgot to place order for both drink and food. Service was very delayed and the waiter kept blaming the kitchen - even though everyone sitting around us who arrived after we did was served first! But taste and ambience and value were all good.
Nice vibe in the restaurant. Arrived ten mins early but table not ready. Asked to take a visibly available table but was lied to about why we could not have it. Least attentive waiter I have had for some time - had to ask multiple times for my wine to be topped up, and for our order to be taken. Food was nice - not quite as good as normal. Nice touch with the birthday chocolate. Enjoyed the evening but marred by the service.
We got there a few moments late but had to wait a further 10-15 for our table to be ready which was a shame.
Following a visit to The Ivy in Covent Garden this was somewhat disappointing. Ambiance is more a ‘busy chain’ and not a special experience. Staff are less attentive and food was less appetising and more microwave!
First experience of The Ivy and loved it. Welcomed with a smile on entering and first waiter was very friendly and welcoming. Didn't have to wait long for menus or to order drinks and nibbles. Food was lovely. All staff on the ball noticing if needed drinks or wanted to pay. Not rushed to get off of table either, just a lovely enjoyable early evening and would def go back. Thoroughly recommend.
We went for afternoon tea, which was overall quite nice. However, tea was not refilled and we had to call the waiter a few times to get additional drinks.
I was also quite disappointed with the lack of flexibility of the service.
We had originally booked a table for 5 at 5:30 PM. The idea was to have afternoon tea. However we realised later that afternoon tea is only served from 3 to 5 PM. Thus, I called the restaurant to ask if we ordered before we arrived, if they could serve afternoon tea at 5:30. They simply said no, didn't even check with the kitchen. No alternative was given.
So I asked if they had availability earlier, they said 4:45 was the latest they could accept a request for afternoon tea. Which also goes against their menu that says 3 to 5 PM.
Lack of flexibility in this industry is ridiculous and more careful thought about how to communicate this to customers should be given.
The quality of the food and the outstanding service made our visit a very memorable experience.
Definitely attend for the brunch. Great menu at fair prices for Kensington. The lobster and eggs were the best. Attentive staff. Great meal!
I booked the table a month ahead and we were allocated the table nearest to the door. Whilst some of the waiters were charming, the service was terrible. We had to ask on three separate occasions for tap water. We checked a hat and scarf into the cloakroom, it then took them 15 minutes to find the items at the end. Food was ok but not up to standard given the price.
I’ve dined here several times and at sister restaurants. The tempura prawns are great and a favourite. Perhaps the menu now needs a bit of freshening up. It’s frenetic but efficiently run with pleasant staff.
Decent food for a chain, great service
Impeccable service, beautiful venue, food keenly priced and overall good, but lacking a little finesse... and seasoning. Having said that, I would definitely recommend as a nice spot for lunch or dinner
First of all I would like to say that I did go and fulfilled my booking and did show up.....
Second of all, the hosts were very rude and not very accommodating, they treated us like children and telling us off for being 10mns late for our booking.... there’s a way to speak to clients...they didn’t even say goodbye to us when we left....
Consistently great food, service and atmosphere. Family-friendly (not all Ivys are) and not rushed.
The staff are friendly and helpful .
But the food is poor in terms of quality and serving cold . There is a lot to improve their food . We weren’t happy with starter also , we ordered prawns and crab cocktail ,Waitrose does better sadly .
The service is good and nice ambiance .
What an amazing breakfast and lovely attentive staff, can’t wait to come back here
Food is very tasty, cocktails are lovely. Food is quite expensive but decor & atmosphere was good, would recommend for a special occasion.
One thing the waiter did say was I on a diet as I didn’t order much due to not a huge vegetarian selection which I was offended at
Scallops were undercooked, the veg and garnish was soggy. The sea bass was plated upside down and the skin wasn’t crispy. My parters chicken was very dry. The price was very over the top considering the standard of the food. We will not be returning
The service at the Ivy Kensington Brasserie was excellent and the food incredible. Their crispy duck and chocolate bombe were extraordinary. I would certainly recommend it and I will almost absolutely visit again.
Wonderful lunch! Don’t miss chicken milanaise!
Thoroughly enjoyable. Staff were attentive and approachable. We will return
Service was excellent and breakfast very good indeed.
It’s a beautiful dinning experience. Thanks. I will come again on Tuesday and I hope to have the same experience.
Delicious food served hot. Friendly helpful service during on a quiet early Friday evening.
Team lunch following a successful campaign. Staff were very attentive, great service, lovely ambience and the food was very good.
We had a very nice lunch, would recommend it .
The place is very nicely designed inside and the cocktails were lovely 😊
While the ambiance was inviting, service good and location excellent, the food was fairly average and not particularly interesting for a restaurant of this level.
Great atmosphere, relaxed and welcoming.
Good food with heathy (ish) options as well as lovely comfort food.
Nice selection of wines.
They keep some tables for walk ins which is great for a last moment get together with friends.
Have been here several times and service had been good. This time I waited about 20 minutes before anyone attended my table.
The manager subsequently and very kindly dealt with the matter
