Our garden terrace is situated at the back of our restaurant and provides the perfect respite away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Adorned with flowers and foliage, it is the perfect spot to soak up the sun during the summer months. Due to the nature of British summer our terrace cannot be booked ahead, so please just pop in.
Open seven days a week and comprised of a main restaurant, bar and a semi-private table for ten for an extra special experience, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
Great service. Yummy food. Always can rely on the ivy. Had a brilliant brunch
I met two friends for lunch at the Ivy Kensington Brasserie the other day. The atmosphere is lovely, warm and welcoming. We ordered a very light lunch which was delicious and there was no pressure to order more. We were not rushed and the service was very good.
The service was very slow and also hard to get the waiter’s attention. We asked for a quieter table but no effort was made to find one for us. The noise level was exhausting. We were meeting Americans who we hadn’t seen for a few years and this was our only chance for a catch up. Almost impossible to hear each other. The back garden would have been much quieter. The food was good as usual.
Good location, nice interior, good service and very good food.
Generally the food was excellent, unfortunately all the starters came out cold
It has been a few years since we ate at this restaurant. Whilst the service has always been variable, the food used to be excellent. Now the food was also variable! The vegetarian options were very limited. My husbands steak was well done, rather than the medium he ordered. My pasta was stodgy and not very tasty. We had 4 guests who made polite noises, but we could see they were not impressed. Sorry guys, but this restaurant is no longer on our list.
I dine at The Ivy several times a month. The service and food are always impeccable and delicious. And of course the G & T.
Extensive menu. Lovely ambience in a very convenient location
Great fish and sides and attentive service. Food took some time to arrive and although it was late and the place was quite empty, it was still very noisy and it made it hard to have a nice and quiet conversation. Still strongly recommend for overall experience.
Loved the food, ambience and service. The staff had obviously been well trained. They showed us just the right amounts of attention. Portions were generous and so fresh. Loved the quality table cloths and serviettes!
Will definitely return. The Ivy is coming to my home town Cardiff and I really hope it is as good!
Fantastic brunch, 5* service, great ambience and decor. Really good value for money. Will be revisiting this Ivy location again.
Very nice atmosphere and decor. Good service and nice food presentation
We seemed to be in a twilight zone in the restaurant where staff would actively ignore us. Every aspect from trying to place the order to trying to make payment seemed to be too much bother for the staff.
Very friendly staff. I was initially seated with other tables very close and the staff kindly moved me to a more intimate spot. Greatly appreciated. Food and wine both excellent.
The service was underwhelming. One of our party did not get their starter, we had to ask for it and when the main meal arrived one dish was for a different table. Two of the ladies toilets had no toilet paper. Not our usual experience at the Ivy
I eat here regularly but on this last occasions I accidentally spilled a glass of champagne. With as little fuss as possible the staff cleared up, changed tablecloths, etc., and then refilled my glass. When my bill came, they had not charged me for the champagne which I thought was extremely kind and was totally unexpected. Thank you, Ivy, and well done.
The food is also remarkably and consistently good.
Food as always was great. Bit annoyed that paying £30 for a steak I had to buy chips separately? Really?? But all in all food was lovely and service was great.
Good food Fantastic service Great atmosphere
Nice but nothing special about the food, but service struggled to cope.
Everything (reception, service, quality of food, ambiance) was four star. But I was a disappointed that menu prices were only quoted with the inclusion of a cocktail, which neither of us wanted. The 'without cocktail' price was given by the waiter, but a first-time visitor might be fooled into taking the more expensive version when they didn't't really want it. A small point, but easy to put right.
Very nice place, but too noisy
Wonderful welcome, outstanding food and impeccable service
We ate afternoon tea on Sunday afternoon in the Garden Room. Service was slow and a little chaotic but the manager did his best to remedy things and with a smile!
The food has gone massively downhill, with all the dishes significantly under par. I order the steak sandwich for example pretty frequently and have had it in all of the London branches, but here it was bland, anaemic and very stingy with its filling. Similarly, the shellfish cocktail was poorly seasoned and the lettuce was not fresh at all.
Ambience and service as always were decent, although it was surprisingly cold in the dining room.
Disappointing breakfast. Food not up to normal standards
Great meal as always with excellent service in a very comfortable environment.
Basic quality food. I used to go quite a lot but now the new menu is the same everywhere and not particularly good or interesting. Quite pricey for what you get.
The halloumi sandwich was definitely not worth the price.
Comprehensive menu, amazing food and excellent service.
Very good location, and the terrace setting was terrific. Food was very good, reasonable price
Superb! One of my favourite London restaurants. Excellently attentive service and tasty food; think comforting and satisfying. Can’t wait to visit again soon.
This is a really good restaurant with a really good reputation for food and service. So, I was surprised by the little things. I ordered chips as a side. The first batch came out cold. I sent them back and the second batch weren’t fully cooked through. I got charged for both orders of chips
Service was good but again, I expected excellence and little things added up.
Absolutely I would go back but absolutely I expected a little more
It had the perfect ambiance for a fun lunch with the girls, buzzy but not too loud. The tables were a bit too close to each other though. Food was ok, had set menu 2 course - fish cake tasty but a bit bland and steak was very poor, chewy and tasted of nothing. Service was ok but waitress had to be reminded twice for mustard apart from that professional. I think the food was disappointing so not sure if I’ll be returning which is a shame because loved the atmosphere.
We use The Ivy group regularly for personal dinners and also for entertaining colleagues, we always think the original one is still the best however I HAVE TO SAY THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF at the Kensington brasserie are amazing and so attentive. I am not sure if there are new people there but they were outstanding as found us a table outside to finish our drinks and even though we understand how busy they are and how they need the tables back they handled it so well. You always felt the manager was around and everyone was looked after so well.
Great as always.
The noise in the main room is much too loud, better to sit on the terrace, make sure you warm it well
Trendy place, very dark, good food and service. I would go back
Our waitress was great. We waited 20 minutes for our Drinks to arrive which was slightly disappointing. Our mains arrived when we still eating our zucchini and bread which again was quite annoying. My shepherds pie wasn’t great which I was gutted as I’ve been to many Ivy’s and it’s always been delicious but today it seemed very over cooked and chewy. Overall I probably wouldn’t visit the Kensington Ivy again and would stick with the Richmond and Wimbledon restaurants! The Zuccini was amazing as always!!
Beautiful setting with some amazing dishes served up. One of the party had chicken and polenta and found it a little bit dry, but overall attentive service and lovely food.
Its noisy so hard to hear yourself think/talk. Food good but I think it is overly expensive - £320 for supper for 4?
Great food in a lovely setting. Service was a bit slow but it was very busy. Monkfish and prawn curry was delicious.
