Ivy Kensington Brasserie
Sample our extensive range of quality food and delicious cocktails at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or are visiting some of London’s best loved landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall.
Our garden terrace is situated at the back of our restaurant and provides the perfect respite away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Adorned with flowers and foliage, it is the perfect spot to soak up the sun during the summer months. Due to the nature of British summer our terrace cannot be booked ahead, so please just pop in.
Open seven days a week and comprised of a main restaurant, bar and a semi-private table for ten for an extra special experience, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
I think it was a bit noisy but everything else was fune
Food was delicious but service was a bit slow because the restaurant was full.
Always enjoyed the meals at the Ivy Brasserie in Kensington. Happy to recommend and revisit soon.
Had loved the Ivy Kensington. Mostly good service, nice buzzy feel to it. High noise level. Prices have gone up as well especially their miso cod.
Would not go back, service was shocking, food was average.
Food and atmosphere were great but the service was not very good. The waiter seemed very unsure of himself and we had to ask numerous times for different things. I would expect more professional service from The Ivy. But still a good experience overall and recommended for a nice evening out.
Food was absolutely delicious.
Tables a bit too close together.
Noise level was so high it was very distracting and difficult to hold a conversation without shouting across the table.
Reputation exceeded expectation.
The food was tasty wine was good service was good.
although I ordered as desert salted caramel and got lemon flavor .the thing which bothered me all evening was the air conditioning. It was turned off for just 5 minutes . Thank you
Chaos to begin with waited a long time for service.
Seemed short staffed
All came well in the end and food enjoyed.
We went to the Ivy Kensington before a concert at Royal Albert Hall - a great location with lovely decor. Food was good value and a cut above normal - very fresh and tasty. Service all good as well - we just had a thoroughly good time and will go again.
Great atmosphere but was disappointed with the attitude of the waitress
Great food and attentive service, although we had an excessive wait for our main course.
We came to dine at the ivy kensington for my husband's special birthday and it was indeed special.
The place is absolutely lovely inside and the dining is quite relaxed.
The service was a bit hit and miss and I was surprised that when my husband ordered a fillet steak that's all it was, everything else was extra.
The food was delicious but in my opinion a bit overpriced.
Well worth a visit though.
Went for dinner. Our waiter was not exactly friendly. Had two orders of roasted chicken. Both were too dry.
Lovely surroundings but mixed atmosphere and food. Welcome at door feels slightly over the top more in scale with a plush establishment rather than a relaxed family friendly brasserie as it feels inside. Tuna starter was excellent but crab was rather meagre and lacking flavour. The bread was excellent, also the Eggs Royale. But sadly the Lobster Linguine was disappointing, especially for the price. Pointless way of serving it at the table - pouring into the bowl, and very lacking in flavour and garnish. Would return but probably just for breakfast.
Terrible food, prepared the day before. The duck salad had a fruit fly nest in it, when we cut into the salad a swarm flew out.... awfull
The service wasn’t great- very slow, had to ask for things multiple times, servers didn’t seem to be that happy to serve anyone.
The service was very slow, no attention was being paid to our table. I had to ask the waiters to take the plates each time.
Thank you got making Angela's 50th Birthday Breakfast a one to remember!
It was a good meal and pleasing experience, but would have been better if steak, egg and chips had still been on the menu.
Had a lovely meal great food and service great decor really looked after us highly recommend
All fine. Restaurant too hot. Good food. Waiter was lovely but seemed too busy. Had to wait for things to be cleared and orders to be taken. Also brought spinach side with pine nuts on ordered by my husband. I’m allergic to nuts. Should have mentioned before bringing to table. Said they weren’t nuts
Absolutely fabulous from the food to the service to the ambience. Can’t wait to return to this establishment. Very reasonably priced, we paid £100 for a two course meal for 2 people and a bottle of wine. Food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Would 100% recommend this restaurant.
My sister and I cited the by n Kensington and had a lovely lunch of fish and chips it was delicious and couple of glasses of wine and for pudding we had the famous bomb it was delicious and we enjoyed the lunch at the ivy very much thank you.
We sat on the garden terrace on a lovely evening. A very nice experience overall but had to chase our main course as were due at the theatre. Our meal was very nice. Would definitely go back when not short on time.
Lovely place, great service. Only problem vey busy as only decent restaurant on the high street so very noisy
In a nutshell - convenient location, good food, very noisy, service - sketchy. Particularly unimpressed with the waiter who actually said they only serve doubles and not singles when we ordered a second round of drinks, after having served us singles for our first round. When we called the manager over he was very apologetic and explained it away as a “misunderstanding”. However on the bill we were charged for a round of doubles, so had to call the manager over again. He did take it off the bill etc etc but it was just a palaver over something that to start with was not what one would expect at an establishment of this calibre.
Excellent steak. Fun, vibrant atmosphere. Great night out. Service was fine but waiter lacked some polish and wasn't hugely attentive. For example, I had to go and collect my own glass of wine as it was sitting on the bar and my steak was calling out for it. The Dover sole was a little small by standards, and certainly for the price, but overall a solid 4/5 experience.
We had a wonderful evening - thank you. We especially appreciated the vegetarian menu - an attractive and varied choice
Mains arrived as they were clearing our starters!! Was totally rushed. And waiter was too focussed on bigger table near us to attend to us properly. Not great
Fair price !
Perfect venue for lunch with my daughters. Delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed a shopping interlude before coming back to the restaurant for afternoon tea!
Service was very slow and I had to ask several times for everything. Our waitress forgot a lot of our order. There was no attempt to make up for bad service which was a shame. The food was delicious.
Good service, nice ambiance and tasty food in a convenient location.
Met up with friends and had a delicious meal, all three of us. Chicken breast was juicy and the salmon delicious. A red Australian Chiraz (cliff) perfect ! Good atmosphere but not too noisy even if the Brasserie was full.
I had my birthday pre theatre dinner here and it was great value for money (set menu).
This was my second visit and it will become a regular dinning spot from now on.
The food was wonderful, but the service wasn't that great for the Ivy and for an upscale restaurant in general. We were overcharged in the end, they added 2 items on the menu, which we didn't have, and instead of instantly apologising, they made excuses that another waiter was responsile for our service not that person serving us the bill. This is none of our business. If they can charge a service charge, we don't have to listen to them complain about other colleagues and should've been offered an apology instantly. Anyway, they did apologise in the end (after a third waiter/manager/supervisor came over) but it would've been nice to get a little something as a compensation, that's how it's usually done in upscale restaurants. Would probably give them another chance, as the food was good. Shame about the service experience as it was a very special day for me and my family, celebrating PhD graduation, and it did spoil the ending a little bit.
Food superb as always. We sat on the Terrace for a change and was lovely atmosphere
Couldn't fault anything. The staff were wonderful and very attentive, the food delicious and ambiance was spot on!
After reserving a week in advance and noting that this was a special occasion they sat our party in the back of the restaurant by the loos even though the place wasn’t nearly half full. Absolutely atrocious - need to have better customer service. We live in Holland Park nearby and will not be back after this.
