Ivy Kensington Brasserie
Sample our extensive range of quality food and delicious cocktails at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or are visiting some of London’s best loved landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall.
Our garden terrace is situated at the back of our restaurant and provides the perfect respite away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Adorned with flowers and foliage, it is the perfect spot to soak up the sun during the summer months. Due to the nature of British summer our terrace cannot be booked ahead, so please just pop in.
Open seven days a week and comprised of a main restaurant, bar and a semi-private table for ten for an extra special experience, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
Service was slow initially. Wrong drink was ordered but this was recitified. Food was amazing!
Food good but the service was the worst We’ve ever experienced at an Ivy. Won’t be back to this one.
Food was a bit cold and the toast wasn’t toasted but staff were v understanding about us having a messy baby in tow. They looked v busy
Booking online was easy & we were seated instantly when we arrived.
The waiter took along time before attending to us.
The tea came warm rather than hot. The hot milk that we requested also was barely warm.
The pepper-mill was empty, again it was a wait before the waiter noticed us.
The waiter also forgot to bring the water to the table.
I like the ambience of the Ivy & I was hoping the service would match that.
Best of Luck
Once we worked round waiting 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive and getting someone to take our food everything went smoothly
Nice ambiance and enjoyed the food
Our lunch was with a distant relative who we had never previously met. On our arrival we were welcomed in a very friendly way and shown to our table immediately. No hassle or rush to order, and neither did we have to wait long for our choices to be served. The food for each of us was very satisfactory, the vegetables were served in an imaginative way ( fine beans with flaked almonds - lovely!). The desserts were scrumptious (frozen berries with ice cream, individual apple tart beautifully presented). Service was impeccable but friendly and helpful. It was good value for our enjoyable meal in a very nice environment with top-class service.
Great food! I found it very difficult to choose between all the tasty options in the menu. Everything tasted wonderful, great ingredients and wonderful desserts!
Always Ivy, never disappointed. Try it, you'll like it!
Delicious but much too noisy!
A real pity because food is exquisite!!
The food is excellent but kind of expensive for that food
We had not been there long (had one course only) but felt we were being encouraged to leave very quickly. Bill was placed on the table while we were still finishing our drinks, and the waiter then tried to take my glass while l was still holding on to it....
Lovely lunch. Excellent service in stunning surroundings.
We sat in the garden room. Despite pouring rain outside we were cosy. Lovely food.
Clearly ordered vegetarian starter and main. Have not eaten meat for 30 years. As main was a pie took a bite to find it was meat. Even worse was no real apology, no discount no customer service recovery attempt. Great decor, buzzy place just dreadful delivery.
A great atmosphere and fantastic food, very friendly staff too!
Sadly the food was not up to standard, and the service was Not good, very slow and patchy.... the ambience was nice, but noisy.
A friendly welcome was received at reception & although two of us were early we were shown to our table.
We attended The ivy garden Kensington on weds to celebrate my daughter & her boyfriends graduation
The table was well placed so we could all converse easily.
The food was lovely & the champagne perfectly chilled.
Some had cocktails which they enjoyed although the Pinot Grigio some of our guests ordered wasn’t cold enough for their taste. Rectified by placing in a wine bucket
I regularly eat at Ivy restaurants & generally the food is of a great standard & service friendly but very efficient.
Although service wasn’t swift we were unrushed & had a lovely evening.
We all enjoyed the evening & will no doubt return.
A pleasant ambience in the garden room, which even in October was warm. The garden room was less noisy than the main restaurant.
Rather disappointing experience I must admit. We waited far too long to be served - at least 10 minutes before our waiter acknowledged our arrival and took our order, then another 15 for the desert menu to be brought. The waiter serving drinks did not bring the water I had ordered and didn’t think to take away the empty wine glasses we didn’t need - I had to ask him to do so. The host at the door didn’t hold the coat to my mother when we were leaving. Overall this made for a lacklustre experience. I don’t usually make the effort to leave negative reviews but this really made for an underwhelming dining experience and I will not be coming back. Disappointing particularly as the original Ivy is such a fantastic place, one expects that reputation and standards of service to be upheld in its sister restaurant.
I came here with my all family and everything was great.
Definitely recommended. I had the cotoletta which I will order again
Superb service that we really appreciated. Dined late afternoon/early evening but lovely atmosphere and they were getting nice and ‘buzzy’ as we left. Enjoyed our meal very much, personally my turbot on the bone could have done with a few minutes less cooking, but a lovely pre ‘royal albert hall show’ meal that made for a memorable night. Thank you.
I always have nice experience in Ivy brasserie. I have been to High Street Ken, Chelsea and Richmond ones and my favourite one is at the High St Ken. I gave four stars for the service because I had to wait for 15-20 minutes for a still water to be served. This happened last time I went to this branch. I had to remind them twice (for both visits) but still they took too long to serve a single glass of water. It seems like their system is bit weird in this sense.
Anyway foods are always good standard for the money and I usually bring my friends or clients to this restaurant and they are pleased with the food. This time I had a brunch, Full english breakfast, eggs benedict and Royale. Overall I am happy with the ambients and food. The noisy level was bit high as the restaurant was full but the tables were sensibly apart so it was bearable.
Great place to enjoy mil! Everything in high level!
Good for a business lunch or friends catch up. The menu is providing an all round choice of light and more consequent dishes.
Average food and service and below-average drinks.
Disappointing to say the least. Poor and disinterested service, mediocre and basically cold food. Certainly not what one would expect from the brand.
Went to the ivy for my husbands bday. We have eaten there many times before and wanted to try the new menu.
We were seated quickly and that was it. It was 15 minutes before someone came for drink order. We were ready to order everything but he said he had to come back. We ordered a glass of champagne and wine. 10 min later the wine arrived. Another 10 minutes later we had to ask for the glass of champagne that was sitting on the bar. Then we ordered. The guy was quite confused by our simple order. When the food came finally most of the food was good as always but the steak over cooked with a huge amount of fat so mostly inedible. The chicken was undercooked in the centre. No one checked on us. We ordered more drinks but they took ages. Luckily we had water! We ordered dessertsand coffees. Despite reminding them that it was a bday there wasn’t no acknowledgment and we’ve been before where a msg is written on the plate and a special dessert. Despite spending almost 300 pounds we were very let down!
Yummy! Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Went here for a special birthday and was not disappointed.
This restaurant is sometimes good sometimes bad and lacks consistency. The service on Sunday was slow and the food "Risotto" could have been presented in a much more attractive way i would suggest this could be reviewed. Overall it did not represent good value quality v price
Traveled from the states to celebrate a birthday week, all was good but check your check before paying we had a extra juice charge that wasn’t delivered.
The service was a bit slow in bringing things to the table but they seemed oversaturated to be honest. However, they were all very nice and friendly. The food was really good. Their starters are better than their mains
The Kensington Ivy always has the perfect ambiance - never change this! The food is also very good and the service is excellent. One of my home restaurants for a reason!
See you again soon !!
We experienced very poor service which spoiled our evening.
Amazing service and food. Great ambiance. I would definitely dine here again.
Great ambiance, great food, great customer service
Brilliant vibe, delicious food, lovely cocktails. Great place to meet with friends!
Great food, lovely decor and impeccable service. They even brought a tiny birthday cake to the table, which was a nice surprise. £108 for the two of us, for 3 courses, with champagne bellinis to start and coffees to end, seems like good value, for a quality restaurant like the Ivy.
The apple fine tart flambe with calvedos is a good dessert, and probably enough to share between two.
And having a 6 foot, super-model waitress approach your table, carrying a tiny copper pan of calvedos and a blow torch, who then sets fire to your dessert at the table with burning calvedos, adds some fun "theatre" to the whole dining experience. The 6 foot, super-model waitress might not be there for every service, but the dessert is guaranteed delicious.
Starters and dessert good
Main course poor
Fish over cook and dry!!
Ambiance is nice and very chic, ordered a fillet steak and fries for 35 pounds and the steak was on the small side and not so flavorful on its own, without the addition of a peppercorn sauce which made it pretty tasty. Fries were a bit dry and barely filling. Service was great and attentive, but could have done with a bit more warmth. Wife had a very delicious tuna salad though. For the price though I wish I was more impressed
