Ivy Kensington Brasserie
Sample our extensive range of quality food and delicious cocktails at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or are visiting some of London’s best loved landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall.
Our garden terrace is situated at the back of our restaurant and provides the perfect respite away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Adorned with flowers and foliage, it is the perfect spot to soak up the sun during the summer months. Due to the nature of British summer our terrace cannot be booked ahead, so please just pop in.
Open seven days a week and comprised of a main restaurant, bar and a semi-private table for ten for an extra special experience, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
Awful mouldy food rude service
We had a very good lunch -- 3 old friends who have known each other for 45 years! The only point I was disappointed in was that we were asked to vacate our table. So we went to have a drink at the bar. We left 1 hour later and our table was still vacant - so there really no need to throw us off our table.
Really enjoyable late lunch. Service a little sluggish but overall a lovely experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Service was a little bit slow. However we enjoyed our afternoon. Will definitely visit again.
Special occasion so booked somewhere we had never been. Food was excellent as was the attentiveness of the staff.
Lovely meal and lovely restaurant
Would highly recommend
We ordered cream tea.
Scones were good, however cream was frozen. After complaining with the waitress we were given a melted fozen cream and by that time both scones and tea were cold.
Further complaint and finally we received new scones, more tea and a nearly decent pot of cream.
We were not charged but overall not a good experience.
Very noisy and not pleasant having tea smelling fish.
Dining and tea tables should be in a separate area.
Not sure what happened. Server forgot a drink and gave my drink to the wrong person. When I asked where my drink was she pointed at the drink my friend had, and had already sipped and said it’s here....blank stare. As if my friend should pass me the drink to drink, she took the drink to get it made again. Asked a further 3 times about drinks
Friends Bellini finally arrived (after 20 minutes) - no fizz. My Drink finally came and by that point we were over it.
Restaurant wasn’t busy and we usually have a lovely time here. Not sure what happened on this day
The service was dreadful. One guest asked for an 'avocado toast' and was brought toast with a plate of sliced avocado on the side. No apologies. The manager was surly and the rest of the staff reflected the managers' appalling approach to customers. Deserved zero service
The service was not attentive.
The waiter did not convey request if well cooked vegetables which had to send back , and wait for replacement veg after finished main course.
Love this restaurant. The service and food are outstanding. However, the toilets need a serious refurb! Not up to the standard of the restaurant.
Was a birthday lunch as I added in my notes when I called the restaurant however fell very flat thought a candle would come out on cake nothing arrived slightly embarrassing.
Food was good as usual.... had set menu.... could have been more dessert choices...... service was too attentive..... felt like we were being rushed... booking at 4.... was told at 5.50 table needed at 6..... we kept being pestered... are you ready to order do you want a drink.... pudding too quick after mains...... staff just did not leave us alone
Enjoyable lunch in this busy and popular brasserie. Food enjoyable and decent value. Need to book ahead. Will go again when next in London.
Service towards the end really deteriorated. After asking for the bill 3 times and waiting 15 minutes I had to get up and ask a Manager to take action. We were a party of 7 spending a lot of money and didn't expect this to happen.
My daughter knew the place and she recommended it to her parents !
Nice place that I would compare to a Parisian Brasserie with a certain style…
The service is perfect, so is the food (and drinks too)
The client is not a... table number.
We will come back next time we come to London.
Superb food. Amazing location. Lovely surroundings. Plenty of choice. Good prices.
Food is good. Service is also good but not at the level in Soho.
Great lunch catch up with friends. The food was delicious and plentiful. We chose a more expensive wine which made the bill quite expensive as we drank so much! We weren’t hurried from our table and when they did need it for a 4pm tea booking, they gave us a great table on a terrace I didn’t know about.
Definitely recommend lunch here.
Great place for a late supper after a visit to the Royal Albert hall
The service was attentive and the server was knowledgeable about the menu. The food came quickly and was nice, desserts were a little underwhelming-but still perfectly nice. The server brought us a little petite four as a celebration (the meal was a reunion) which was a nice touch.
Had a lovely evening, I have given high scores due to service , food, ambience, all of which were perfect.
I will definitely return when I visit London again and will recommend to friends.
Nice venue just opposite High St Ken Tube. Others in this chain have nicer interiors (Bishopsgate and Marlow have airy garden feel to them) but that is because of space availability. Very good quality.
Service was good until had to pay the bill. I had to go and find someone in the end and when I did their card machine ran out of paper which took two of them to sort out. But that said the waiter serving us was very polite and attentive. It was the bill paying that stopped this being 5 star rating.
Food was good. Really nice bar area. Very high quality interior generally.
Toilet was very small. Only room for two in a bar/restaurant that holds about 100 diners. This again may be a space issue for the property but it is too small.
First world problems on my part perhaps. Overall it was a good venue that I would return to. Food very good. Wine very good. Waiter excellent.
Pretentious, over priced and waitress serving rude and unfriendly. Food over priced and not the standard expected from The Ivy.
Very nice food and very good service
I recommend this place
Very busy time Saturday lunch
The food could have been better
The drinks should be at a reasonable price
Overall only average
Sweet potato curry was not very good at all, for any amount of money, much less the Ivy premium price. I usually really like this place so was surprised to find the food so mediocre. Pot coffee was also not very hot and the milk not warmed as I’d asked. Hopefully a one-off bad experience as the food is usually great here.
Service wasn’t good
Great buzzy atmosphere... Great friendly and efficient service. Unfortunate amount of gristle in duck curry...
We had travelled to London for a weekend break the brassiere was a short walk from our hotel it was superb will definitely be returning
We had the set menu, the food was very good , the service was good. Overall a good experience
Fairly mediocre experience in an otherwise quite nice setting. The service was really poor - got my order wrong and seemed annoyed when I pointed it out and asked to change it; after which we were completely ignored. Food (breakfast) was average
the vegetarian food menu at the Ivy Brasserie on Kensington High Street was enticing and we both ordered exclusively from that menu. Sadly when our food came we were served the meat version of the shepherds pie (from the main menu we hadn’t even looked at) rather than the vegetarian version we ordered. Having tasted it - and consumed my first meat for over 30 years - I queried whether it was actually the vegetarian version with our waiter. He seemed surprised that anyone would want the vegetarian version and barely apologetic for his mistake. He did move to get us a replacement vegetarian version quite quickly and another member of staff came and apologised a little more fully but offered nothing to make up for the mistake. To add insult to injury, when got the bill they had charged us for both the meat and the vegetarian shepherds pies! When we queried the bill they corrected it and comped my coffee - the cheapest thing we ordered - to make up for the inconvenience. I was expecting the vegetarian shepherds pie to be taken off the bill as well to be honest because they had made two mistakes and serving meat to a vegetarian is a big problem. Maybe they looked at us and judged we weren’t likely to be regular clientele- not entitled or loud enough- so felt they could get away without offering anything else. Quite sad as the room is beautiful and the food is good - especially a starter of mushrooms and potato rosti, which was delicious!
I visited the Ivy Kensington Brasserie with my friend for her birthday, plus her Mum and her friend. We were heading to see Cirque du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall afterwards, so we were particularly fond of the special Cirque set menu. It was such brilliant value for money, and the food and cocktails was all fantastic. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. My friend is vegan and allergic to nuts, and the staff and kitchen were so accommodating with this. The waiter also brought out a special vegan dessert for my friend at the end!
The staff were great in letting me keep my lunch table for another meeting. Very kind of them.
nice food and nice surrounding
I didn't think it was anything special, the fish dish was average not worth the price also chocy bomb was not great and the rum ba ba was awful. One of the waitress hem was down. Not a great day. Definitely not worth the money.
Food was average given the price. Also £5 for a basket of bread is excessive.
Fantastic as always, great food, atmosphere and staff. Christian excellent and I think Alan superb. Visit four Ivy Brasseries regularly............................... Excellent staff to customer service. Highly recommended...............
