Ivy Kensington Brasserie Ratings and Reviews
We have been for lunch and dinner on a number of occasions and have enjoyed each visit but the other couple had not. The staff are attentive but not intrusive, the menus is varied and reasonably well priced for the location. The ambience is conducive to good conversation making for an enjoyable evening
Was also here the day before for dinner and decided to book breakfast as we were staying close by, so quality rather than the quantity of a hotel buffet breakfast. Coffee was amazing, my wife had lobster Benedict which she loved, although it was a tiny amount of lobster. I had two scrambled eggs with toast; first toast got sent back as it was 20% blackened and the eggs were quite firm and very salty, made worse by me as I put salt on before tasting. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the staff really did look after us, however on both visits they were let down slightly by what was coming out of the kitchen. Probably wouldn’t bother with breakfast there again because, while it’s a small point why would anyone burn the toast and then the waiting staff serve it unless they weren’t too bothered about their customers?
I always enjoy my visits to the Ivy Kensington. The reception greeting is always warm & helpful & even when booked solid, they will always try & find an option. I have only recently discovered them for brunch & have on both occasions greatly enjoyed this meal - both for the menu range and presentation. Staff service is always excellent.
Fabulous atmosphere, always friendly, great service (even when they make mistakes). Great consistency whatever the time of day. Only reason for the reduced stars on value is I do think the wine list needs some attention and is general a tad overpriced, relying to a certain extent on names rather than quality.
I booked a table for my husband’s birthday and we couldn’t have been more impressed with the food and service.
The restaurant itself is lovely. Really nice decor and sets the scene.
All the staff were attentive and could not have done anything more for us. They were fab!
We opted for the 3 course set menu as it was an early dinner. It was very good value. My husband had the bang bang chicken, steak and creme brûlée which he enjoyed and all looked to be decent sized portions. I’m a veggie so I had the onion soup (which was the best I’ve ever had), the aubergine (which was gorgeous- so filling- sometimes the veggie options are tiny but not this one! I ordered chips on the side thinking it would be tiny but I did not need them at all!) and the vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce (also lovely).
We cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Thank you so much- it was a lovely start to the evening!
Came here for a quick dinner with a friend but ended having three courses and sharing a bottle of wine. Buzzing atmosphere when surrounding restaurants were empty, delicious food and charming and attentive service. The lighting is perfect and the interior beautifully decorated with pages from the Catalogue for the Great Exhibition which took place only a short walk away in Hyde Park.
We had a very good lunch with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service very good. The food is always excellent and delicious and the wines are very good too. It has become a popular place for us to eat with friends or family and never fails to meet our expectations.
My parents and me stayed at "The Ivy Kensington Brasserie" over new years eve and i really have to say that it was fantastic. The location is breathtaking and the food is delicious. I really recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to spend a special night somewhere. Also the service is wonderful and everything is clean and orderly. I really fell in love with the restaurant.
We booked the semi-private room for our New Year's Eve group celebration for 12. Our experience was top-notch! Appetizers and cocktails were beautifully presented, we were given plenty of time to enjoy without being rushed to the next course. Our waiter was attentive, never an empty glass or dirty dish left lingering on the table. Main courses and desserts were fresh and served all together. The food was delicious! WE will for sure be booking again.
I have eaten here a few times. The food & service has always been outstanding.
It was very busy on the evening we dined this time , but our table was ready when we arrived & despite the rush the service was fast. I had the duck curry which was delicious! The cherry ice cream sundae was also mouthwatering!
We will be back again soon
Really lovely Christmas ambiance. Fantastic service - not rushed and even when they thought our table would be needed for the next booking we were looked after - in fact we didn't have to move in the end - which made it a great afternoon - we were made to feel very welcomed and special. Thank you
The restaurant looked so inviting with all the Christmas trees outside. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly girl who showed us to a nice table in the corner. Appreciated the white tablecloth and thick napkins. Waiters were very efficient and friendly and the food was gorgeous. Overall a very pleasant experience.
