Ivy Kensington Brasserie
Sample our extensive range of quality food and delicious cocktails at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or are visiting some of London’s best loved landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall.
Our garden terrace is situated at the back of our restaurant and provides the perfect respite away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Adorned with flowers and foliage, it is the perfect spot to soak up the sun during the summer months. Due to the nature of British summer our terrace cannot be booked ahead, so please just pop in.
Open seven days a week and comprised of a main restaurant, bar and a semi-private table for ten for an extra special experience, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
We were rather disappointed with this restaurant last Sunday evening. The food is wonderful and at a fair price for a venue of this kind. However, the service left a good deal to be desired; although the restaurant was far from full, the service was very slow and the bread, which we had ordered for the beginning of the meal took such a long time to arrive that it eventually came with our main course! The room is beautifully decorated with scenes from the Great Exhibition of 1851, but the tables are far too close together and the music too loud. I asked if they could turn it down, but they did not. I felt they did not care about their customers, although the manager was very friendly when we left! They need to tighten up and aim to give the diners a more memorable experience.
Efficient, friendly service and good food. We had a 6 month old baby with us and the staff were charming with him. Very noisy in the front of the restaurant
It was beautiful I loved it and our waiter was very good x
Friendly efficient staff. Beautiful food. Excellent cocktails
Highly recommend this restaurant.
Overall the experience was ok. We sat at the bar for a drink as we were slightly early. It took a long time to be served at the bar, even acknowledge. Once seated we were near the kitchen so plates going past, fine not a problem until a waiter drops plates right next to you and there's China everywhere. It was cleared and wet floor signs put out. We were checked to see if we were ok, but not what you expect. It was very busy where we were sat and then staff were tripping over the wet floor signs. It was a 30th Birthday gift for my friends I would of expected better if I'm honest.
We had a reservation and had to wait for our table to be ready. It was very busy and noisy. There was no personal touch from staff. The food was good and we were not rushed.
Service was unfriendly and impatient. Food was average. Pretentious.
I have been to this ivy twice before and it was far better. This time the service was poor the food wasn't great couldn't cut the broccoli with normal knife had to ask for a steak knife.when we ordered items and was served had to ask when certain other items would be served even though they were ordered at the same time. The beer that is on the menu is awful they used to sell peroni but stopped so what is being sold is awful couldn't drink the first one called the ivy and asked for it to be taken away and the second was just bearable but would not recommend. The main course was the ivy shepherds pie which was full of gristle even when we asked for the bill we waited what seemed like forever. The only plus side was when leaving a tip was told to take it back as service charge was included. Very disappointed as the other times we visited it was excellent....
Waiting staff couldn’t understand English very well. I remember a time when you could not only order your food without trouble but you could engage with a bit of light banter with waiting staff while at it and that made the whole service experience more enjoyable now.
We had an overall excellent evening at the Ivy Kensington Brasserie. The food was great, service was great and I can’t think of anything to improve :)
Will definitely go back.
Really liked the food, service, decor and ambience. Only down side was the noise levels. They don't need background music. It only raises the volume of conversation. And sitting near the bar the noise of the cocktail shaker added to that! Not much you can do about that though. And there was o my one barman so Fri is could be a bit slow in arriving. However given its location it is very good value for money. I was only sorry I didn't have room for the passion fruit baked alaska so will need to return to sample that one day.
We needed a nice place like this for a long time !
Beautiful restaurant, beautiful food at amazing prices. Only chose due to set meal choice.
The Ivy, Kensington, reminds me of a wonderful old-world tea house my aunt would take me and my sister to, back in the 50's for a special treat. I was likely about 8 yrs old and the restaurant was Lyons Corner House somewhere around Regent and Oxords Streets. The Ivy is contemporary, but retains the comfort, style, service and respect we grew up with after the war. I love the design features and I've always loved Art Deco. I visit everytime I return to my home town.
What an absolutely perfect evening had for our engagement meal on Valentine’s Day. 5* service and food . Highly recommended
Great meal but service was a touch slow once seated. Front of house service was very good though.
Great service, great food, great vibes! Would recommended anytime.
Better than my expectations!! It's a must go place
Everything was perfect
Fabulous restaurant, with highly attentive and welcoming stsff. The atmosphere is one of fine dining, but relaxed for any occasion,
Decent food and quality. Service was good. Value for money.
The food was good, but the experience i would not recommend, as in the middle of our lovely dinner we noticed one of the guest was drinking from the broken glass, we let the waitress know, the glass full of wine was removed, with a simple sorry and NOTHING was done to compensate it. I was simple shocked. Not even wine was replaced. After i paid the bill I mentioned it to waitress again, how unbelievable no one cares about costumers. Its a broken glass its degerous! We got a manager coming over and training to ask so whats wrong with you people. In the end he said he havent been told and offered us a glass of wine as an act of kindness. Its unbelievable poor quality of service.
Service was very slow. We were going to order dessert but because the waitress took so long, she did not even clear the table or give us a dessert menu, we just paid for our meal and left
WE HAD A GREAT EVENING
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT TO ALL WHO KNOWS ME.
Lovely restaurant and delicious food. Beautiful deco, like stepping back in time!
Nicely presented restaurant, staff very attentive. The noise level was quite high initially so we struggled to hear the waiter at times but he got our order correct. The prices were ok for London and we all enjoyed our meals.
Lovely building and place to be, but the food was really quite basic for the price, and didn’t seem up to original Ivy standard. I.e poached eggs were hard, coffee and tea was warm not hot. Not major things but not what you expect. Felt underwhelming for my first visit to any ivy restaurant.
Squeezed into a table near the door while the rest of the place was empty and being set up for lunch, just didn’t feel special at all.
Great food, friendly staff. Shame we had to wait 15 mins for our table. Very nice atmosphere.
Terrible service, waitress argued that the white wine (which was £40 a bottle) was cold enough when it was only at room temperature! They offered to put it in an ice bucket but would not allow us to have the ice bucket anywhere near our table.
Over priced, over rated, noisy and dark! We booked weeks in advance but were squashed on a table of four when there was six of us. Our bill had other people’s drinks charged to it and nearly a £40 service charges added without being asked.
Toilets did not work, no running water. Waiterress was sent in with two bottles of water to flush toilets but told ladies they could only have a wee and not a poo!! Shocking for £90 per head.
Absolutely superb food, excellent and attentive staff. Very busy night but this didn't faze the staff at all.
Tolles Essen und toller Service. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und auf Zack.
The quality of the food was excellent and the service from our waitress could not have been better.
We had a wonderful champagne afternoon tea. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was quite noisy but that may just be due to the acoustics of the building
Great buzz in the place
Ideal lunch spot but tables are too close together, fine if you want to get intimate with neighbours, not so great if you want to get intimate with your date.
Very nice food, nice cosy feel to restaurant, quite busy had to wait a while for drinks.
Although we enjoyed our early evening experience at Ivy Kensington Brasserie, we did not enjoy the Shepherds Pie which for some reason was made with large pieces of stewing steak, not the traditional lamb mince!!! We were in too much of a rush, to complain and ask for a replacement dish, but wish we had done so on reflection.
My husband and I went to the Ivy Kensington Brasserie for an early pre-show dinner. Our first time at an Ivy Brasserie. We really enjoyed the experience - great food and good service. Would highly recommend.
We had breakfast last Friday. I found the front of house unfriendly & unhelpful, didn’t offer to take our coats or show us where they could be hung up. The service was extremely slow despite the restaurant being half empty. The toast arrived at the end of my breakfast and I had to flag down a waiter 3 times to remind them. The coffee was luke warm.
Not a fantastic start to my day.
Absolutely wonderful way to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Something really special.
