The food was great. Don't skip the shrimp appetizer - amazing. Service was spotty. Place is too loud - had a hard time hearing the person across the table.

Booked for a quick dinner prior to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall - location is great for that - opposite Kensington High Street underground almost and 10-15 minutes walk to the RAH. Had the fixed price two courses menu - both my brother and law and I had the Steak with Chunky chips - very good. Would perhaps have liked to see some vegetables added, but it was fine. I had the Camembert and crackers for dessert, my BiL took ice-cream - both very satisfied. It was early so we had the Ivy Lager, rather than wine - that is a nice flavoured lager. A tad on the expensive side at £4.80 for 300ml, but it's London and the Ivy... Staff were friendly enough, but slow. There was no single waiter/ress for our table. The first to attend to us was on her first day, brought menus, clearly was still trying to understand where things were on the menus but first day, no complaint. But then she disappeared and it was a question of attracting someone to take our orders, bring the bill and then take the money away (we needed change). So service could have been bit better - seemed to be a few staff standing around chatting rather than keeping an eye on the tables. We were a bit anxious on time in the end despite having a 5:45pm reservation and wanted to be out by 6:45pm ideally. We thought an hour dor two light courses would be easy to manage in an hour. We didn't get out until about 7:05pm. With a 7:30pm 'curtain up' it made it a bit of a rush. Without the concert, maybe I'd have been more relaxed on the service... But apart from that, nice décor, ambience and food and I will return.

Buzzy, friendly, rather too noisy to talk easily. Food is interesting, varied but cold plate spoiled my steak.

Very nice decor and atmosphere. service was faultless and friendly. Had the set lunch menu. Soup was very good, the chicken in the chicken supreme was overcooked and dry. A nice setting , great location so overall good apart from a one off chicken not so supreme.

I thought my booking was for 7.30 but it was for 7! They rang me and kept my table reserved which was good. Upon arrival we were made to feel extremely welcome by the staff on the door who made a fuss of our 11 year old son. The restaurant itself is very tastefully furnished and all the staff are extremely attentive.
My only fault would be that if you buy a steak (for £30) it should come with your choice of side and it not be an extra. I don't mean to sound tight but I am a northerner!

With two vegans in our group the options were very limited. The soup was tasty and the rissotto a bit bland. The "juices and smoothies" were really appalling, virtually all ice, tasteless and watery. Staff oblivious of our existence. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Must try harder for plant based diets.

From when we arrived until leaving, all the staff were very attentive.
Food and cocktails were great.
I requested a little something special for friends birthday with the dessert and they remembered, which was great. A special little treat came out and with a candle....lovely.
Would highly recommend The Ivy Kensington.

Very impressed with our visit to this brasserie for dinner. Food was lovely, wine excellent and service extremely good. Thank goodness no-one came to enquire if we were happy with our food as I hate that! Only slight downside was that it was very crowded and therefore quite noisy.

Enjoyable meal, great buzz about the place, even on a Monday evening. Food was good, perhaps not quite up to the prices but close. Only issue was the heat - really warm on what was a cool April evening. Might need to get some aircon or ceiling fans before the summer!

My first visit. Reception staff were charming, waiting staff not so much, but still efficient. The Ivy shepherd's pie was delicious- four out of five of us chose it - and the salad starters were imaginative, tasty and generous. I've already booked to bring two more friends in May. Thank you Ken. Ivy.

We ordered steaks and a good restaurant should always master cooking a good steak before anything else however it was not great. Medium steaks were not medium. Some still bloody and another was so rare that it was blue!
The ambience and service was great however. Sad that the let down was the steaks!

Have eaten in a number of Ivy restaurants and always extremely pleased. However, the portion sizes in this restaurant seemed to be smaller than usually served in other Ivy restaurants, despite the same menu. Not quite the same high standard of food which I associate with this brand.
Really hoping this isn’t a turn in standards of all Ivy venues, will try the Chelsea or Richmond spots again for comparisons.

A slow start as our table wasn't ready when we arrived. So we were asked to have a drink at the bar which was fine but once we had finished our drinks we still had not been seated. Having seen others walk in and sit down straight away, we felt that we had to ask what had happened. We think that maybe we had been forgotten because we were then shown to a table immediately. This being said once we did sit down all went well. We were attentively served lovely food and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
