Really bad service, very disappointed in The Ivy, Kensington today. We waited forever to order, then again for drinks, again for second round of drinks. In the end I had to go to the bar to order. The bill was asked for twice as it took so long!! We weren’t in any rush either! Not a good dining experience.
Ivy Braserrie is always a reliable place for a special occasion with friends. The food were delicious, service impeccable and the ambience was pleasant. It was rather hot that evening, and tad uncomfortable. I also wish they change or vary their menu a bit. But great experience nonetheless
The food was lovely. The restaurant was lovely.
The service was poor.
Fantastic food and service could not fault a thing. Brilliant thank you
The tempura prawns and the black cod were excellent ; the zucchini were- unusually- a let down as they were limp !. But we had a good time and would recommend the Kensington Ivy
Food was good, service was quite good. Waitress tried to accomodate our odd requests. Bar staff sid not know what a Shirley Temple is. (Grenadine, lemonade, ginger ale).
The service was sadly the worst experience I have had out of all my Ivy visits... had to wait 20 mins to a Diet Coke... not great :(
Great food and service, supported by a friendly professional team.
The food was average but the service was awful
Ordered wine and it was sat on the bar for 20 minutes before being put on our table
Was given a normal knife for a fillet steak and wasn’t able to cut it so had to ask for a steak knife
Another dinner dropped a glass and 2 waiters looked up then left the floor and it was about 4 minutes before someone attended the customer
They forgot my side order which I had to request
We had to beg the waiter to pour more wine so we eventually just asked for the wine to be left with us.
Overall, the ivy brand has slipped
I won’t be returning
Had a great lunch with my friends after not seeing them for 8 months. The service was great & we were able to chat & catch up! Second time I've been & did not disappoint.
Amazing food and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended
We had an excellent family meal at the Ivy!
Very nice food in lovely surroundings with friendly service. Just a little too hot in this lovely weather. May need some fans!!
Very nice place, the only thing is that it's a bit too noisy, which is a shame as otherwise it's really lovely the food is very nice and the staff really good.
Quality food and drinks and good service in lively entertaining environment. If you are looking romantic dinner for two, possibly not the right place. If your looking for a fun dinner with class but not to stuffy then go for it!
The Ivy Kensington was lovely. We were in The Terrace which is a little cramped. The menu was comprehensive, the service was relaxed and efficient, the food was yummy. Good choice.
I like the Ivy Group and meeting my friends in one of the restaurants of the chain quite often. Unfortunately this time I was very disappointed in the service provided. We have waited for a long time, none of the waiters was paying any attention to the customers, the order was wrong and had to be changed. We got the bill without asking for it and were asked to sit by the bar as there was another reservation. My friend is pregnant so "sitting by the bar" is the last thing we wanted. I had a reservation and nobody told me that we only have a limited amount of time, if I knew that - I would chose a different restaurant.
And please, teach your stuff to smile, a nice smile on a Saturday morning in sunny London is what every customer would happy to see;-)
Excellent and helpful with children and catered for their needs
Been here A few times. Services was very slow and completely unattentive - felt like serving own wine at one point. Food was ok but the sea bass was poor and other 4 guests rated it a average
The Ivy as a theme is good but best to go to the original or Chelsea for the best experience - this one doesn’t hit the mark
Food very good which was surprising bearing in mind how busy it was and how you felt you were just a number. Tried hard to enjoy the evening but just so rushed, clearly the aim was to get as many covers through per table. Tried very hard to get a glass of Pinot Noir with my main course but no joy, clearly not a priority as I’d already had a main course served. It’s a shame that covers are all encompassing as the food is excellent
Food was excellent, service was of a extremely high standard.
Will visit again.
Having had a super time previously at the Richmond Ivy we had high hopes for our first visit to the Kensington Ivy. Upon walking through the door we could see that the decor although interesting was not to the standard and interest of the Richmond Ivy. The initial service was good but suddenly the staff serving us disappeared...must have been a shift change. This caused a huge wait between our starter and main course, also requiring us to get the attention of serving staff. The staff were all friendly and helpful, although the bread we ordered never arrived. Our food arrived hot with good main meals and desserts but the crab cakes as a starter were disappointing and lacking taste. The food was presented well, the table well laid but overall it did not reach the 'very good' category, where our Richmond experience was almost excellent.
The ambience was always excellent as always busy Friday lunch but service is slow even the staff tried as not enough staff, food average as usual as we know not going for the quality of food but the buzz of the place. If stick to the lunch menu it is good value for money any drink of coffee is expensive. Quite noisy have to shout to be heard
Everything good apart from it was really hot in the restaurant.
Excellent service, food high quality, excellent ambience
Food was fantastic, home cooked style and tasty. The experience was ruined by a fellow customers child crying.
The table glass had finger prints on the side, but overall satisfactory.
Its become almost my 'local.' The service is excellent and the staff are attentive but not intrusive. I'm always confident of an excellent meal and the consistency of standards.
This was one of the best meals I have had in London recently
Gone down hill. Waffle topping was poultry, all eggs are cold (as in the case of poached) or dry and rubbery (you should not be able to pick up your scrambled eggs in one big lump), seating is too cramped. Used to be worth the money now it’s a rip off. £1.50 for one strawberry cut into four does not a waffle topping make!
Had a great Saturday evening celebration dinner for two at the Ivy High St Ken. Three courses of excellent food, great cosy romantic atmosphere and very friendly staff. We felt very welcome and would def return. Recommend.
Lovley place.Great menu and really super staff.Would go again.
Lovely setting with delicious food and excellent service.
We were celebrating my daughters 22nd birthday and we all met for brunch. Beautiful decor, very friendly staff and excellent food, would definitely recommend.
The atmosphere is perfect for evening dinning. The food, the cocktails and the staff were all excellent!
Staff were attentive and very helpful. Service was good, and timing for each course was ideal. Food was delicious.
Great place to eat prior to going to the Royal Albert Hall, buzzy atmosphere, professional team, great food, inventive menu - good prices
Whats not to like
I would have liked to sit on the patio as it was the hottest day of the year, unfortunately it was closed, the restaurant has bi folding doors to the street so it was bright and airy
Will go again and would recommend
Average food, terrible customer service from front of house host. The coffee is pretty good though.
We were there celebrating my Wife's Birthday, ahead of going to the Royal Albert Hall that evening. The food, service and ambience were terrific, and the staff very attentive. I would strongly recommend to other.
Tea was cold, and not impressed with the service and food. Do not recommend.
As always, it was a wonderful evening at the Ivy - service was excellent. Thank you for a lovely evening.
