Good food and good wine in a nice place. Most enjoyable.
Great food good service a bit noisy and close together tables! The girl on the table next to us had an extremely varied love life ........difficult not to overhear!!!!!
Great fun and great atmosphere
We had a dish that was undercooked... It was replaced which then highlighted that the first dish did not have the sauces and dressings that were described on the menu. Apart from that... All was fabulous x
Great location, great food, great service, great birthday treat
We enjoyed our pre theatre dinner, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is very convenient for the Royal Opera House. My husband “uptraded’ to the Steak & Chips which was £3+ extra but there was only the choice of well done or rare and not medium, the steak was supposed to be with garlic butter but there appeared to be none so it was rather dry. I had the chicken breast but it seemed to be a leg or wing as there were some bones, it was tasty though. The service was good but we would normally only tip around 10% yet 12.5% is automatically added to the bill which means the dinner works out must more expensive than you think. Having said all that it was a pleasant place to have dinner before the theatre.
Very disappointed that after ordering the lamb dish, there was no mint sauce available.
Great atmosphere v friendly staff and lovely food xx
i certainly enjoy socializing at the Ivy, particularly the one in Cobham in Surrey. they only thing I find is that on a few occasions I find that the prawn cocktail has no taste and the silver goblet its served in is not practical to eat out of.
the fish cakes and shepherds pie is divine - I also find that there are not sufficient desserts.
also I find both the covent garden and the cobham Ivy so loud, I could hardly hear my partner sitting opposite me.
the waiter we had at both Ivy's were extremely polite and wonderful.
In view of where this restaurant is situated right in the middle of a busy tourist spot this was good value for money. Ok the drinks are a bit expensive but you expect that where it is. Would definitely go again.
Good food for lunch time.
Really lovely restaurant
I had the Smoked Salmon starter and the Lamb main, my friend had the Parfait starter and the Chicken Milanese. All was really yummy and good portions.
Will defo come back
Went with 3 friends for a Christmas day out before the theatre and the service and food were amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful and all the meals really good quality and flavours.
Went for late brunch last Sunday. Usual impeccable service and welcome. My Japanese guest impressed with ambience and food quality. Service always manage to give plenty of space and time without hassle, but always there when needed. Really love the place!
Just one thing not good their Christmas pudding was nothing like Christmas pudding disappointing
Service was attentive and friendly and food was great as always. The place was busy for Sunday brunch but enough staff to make sure no one was ignored. Didn’t wait too long for food. There was a real buzz about the place and at busy service times reservations a must.
We were seated straight away. However we must have been asked three times within 15 minutes of sitting down what we wanted to eat. We wanted our drinks first. We had ordered two Cocktails which just sat on the bar for a while before we had to ask the waitress to bring them over so we could drink them. The food was good. The waitress was very attentive but maybe a little to attentive (except when bringing Cocktails)when we just wanted to look over the menu with a drink before ordering. I appreciate it is busy and they need the table, but we were finished within an hour of being seated which I didn’t think was excessive?
I’m not sure I would return.
Really lovely restaurant, food was good but the service was terrible. Took 35 minutes just to get an orange juice and then we were rushed to leave at the end of our meal (despite there being empty tables either side of us). I was really looking forward to trying the Ivy but left completely disappointed, the servers need a refresher on customer service.
We visited for Breakfast on Sunday 9 December 2018 on our visit to London and were allocated a corner booth as requested when we made the booking and was in a good area of the restaurant. The full English breakfast was very good and we enjoyed our visit.
Breakfast arrived very quickly and was Luke warm, mentioned this & they were happy to re cook but again was luke warm.
Good cuisine and good service even with a crowded clientele. Booking time was respected and waiters do a good job.
Best place at Covent Garden.
Reserved a table for 3 on Sat 8/12I was disappointed with the restaurant, the table, service and level of attention. I have frequented The Ivy in Bath and Norwich and was so impressed with the attentive hospitable service. The ambiance was perfect and the decor truly amazing. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the Ivy Market Grill in Covent Gardens.
First time at the Ivy Market Grill and I have to say they pulled out all the stops. We had a great table tucked away round the back and nowhere near the door, which suited us fine.
The food was good with a very wide selection (not always a good sign) but what we had I thought was very good for a "grill" establishment.
The thing that really made it was the waiting staff who were lots of fun, very attentive and full of good advice.
Thank you for a really enjoyable night.
Comfortable relaxed atmosphere for any occasion. Well mannered staff with excellent service, attentive but not overpowering. We were not rushed. Food was lovely and though a lively, chatty atmosphere not too loud for conversation.
Great location close to Covent Garden and many theaters. Reservation is necessary at weekends. The tables close to the entrance can be chilly when it’s cold outside.
Very crowded being so close to Covent Garden. Makes it very loud and tables packed together. Despite being rammed our server was very attentive and wait times were low.
Starters were delicious but the burger for my main was a little over done.
Good value for money.
Such a lovely place! Staff was very friendly and the ambiance is incredible. We had the Champagne High Tea which was delicious. Great value!
This is our second visit to the Ivy. The food is wonderful, I had the snow bombe for dessert and it was amazing!
The service is unobtrusive and we never had to wait for our glasses to be filled.
The location is perfect, decor unique and excellent value for money.
We will be back.
An excellent venue with great food, excellent service and a wonderful ambience.
My Husband and I have a Pre-Theatre Brunch here last Saturday and were really happy with our experience. The brunch was amazing and really reasonably priced. Service was also excellent. Would highly receommend .
The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, as well as exciting and inviting; and the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was tasty, and the wine was delicious. And the location in Covent Garden was so convenient! What more could anyone want on their trip to London?!
This is our second visit and the service was great but sadly the food wasn’t great for us. This was a Christmas shopping trip so We went for breakfast with our daughter and sadly I felt the eggs had already been pre cooked as they was luke warm and hard . My husbands English breakfast was cold! My first experience was amazing which was such a shame.
Excellent breakfast and service.
Thank you for making a birthday experience very special
Another superb meal
The waiter was great ,food great only one little moan , we were sat on a table on the corner by the kitchen doors so I was constantly knocked as staff were walking past serving .
Nice option when in the area for a show - not as fancy as the original ivy on west street and definitely more affordable with an appealing pre theatre menu. However, very busy and chaotic and lacking in the atmosphere of an upmarket restaurant which some may assume would come with the name, but has a definite “chain” feel to it.
Food and atmosphere nice for Christmas time trip to London. Service adequate, but not special, especially the horde of hostesses crowding the door then taking it out on customers who were coming and going.
Lovely place, great food, outstanding service - all marred by the constant opening of door to patio to serve outside on a freezing afternoon. Cold draughts of air sweeping in to make you shiver ! Would only return in summer
as a regular at this particular ivy it never fails to disappoint on service, quality and value for money. please do not let high standards drop!
