Firs time at the Ivy Market Grill. Good and service was excellent
The food was great rabbit pie was fabulous, and the mashed potato was the dogs danglies!! The staff were very helpful, pleasant and happy, which makes a change from most waiting staff in London. Can’t wait to go back and try something else off the menu!!
Well done to the Ivy Covent Garden your staff deserve a pay rise!!
Great atmosphere super food and overall very good service. The restaurant was busy so really kept to the 2 hour table restriction
Would have liked one or two more sandwiches & less cakes (as we had to take the rest of the cakes away) but was lovely 😊 would recommend!
The brand has been spread too thin. Good quality was on par with a All Bar One at best.
Waiter was friendly but food was mediocre
Lovely food and good service. Really enjoy going to the Ivy as you are never disappointed
Lovely staff and made sure our dining experience was superb. Delicious food and no rush to leave the table. Outside dining much appreciated.
We was sat for 40 minutes without any one taking our order , when breakfast arrived we still hadn’t received our drinks and had to ask for them .
Great service and amazing food. The best, the time frame! lovely place to go for a dinner after the theatre!
The restaurant was very very busy. We had to wait nearly 20 minutes for our table.
We were just left hanging around the reception desk, getting in the way of staff and other customers.
We were told the previous diners on the table were not finished yet.
I asked if we could stand at the bar and get a drink, this we did.....but were then ignored at the bar and didn't get a drink.
After a total of 30 minutes, we were seated. We asked for drinks. After a further 15 minutes our food order was taken. At this point I asked for the drinks yet again.
Eventually, after 45 minutes, we got our first drink.
The food was delicious when we finally got it but no one checked on us to ask if everything was OK or asked if we needed any more drinks......the usual good service was very sadly lacking although there were many staff rushing around.
However, I would still recommend The Ivy for it's ambiance, it's great staff (when you eventually get their attention) and good food.
Found choice of sides with Sirloin Steak poor no salad available except green leaf . Waiter only interested in getting us served quick and on our way . It appeared he just wanted to get the table free for another cover .
Went on Thursday night and the place was very busy and noisy, tables very close together so you were hearing evryone else's conversations. The three girls dressed in red at the till (sole job appeared to be showing people to their tables) were also very noisy and seemed more interested in chatting and laughing together than attending to any customers.
Very poor service - no personal interaction with our waiter who disappeared regualrly and didn't keep an eye on how we were getting on so our drinks and food came a bit late. He seemed to take personal offence at us asking someone else where our glasses of red wine were after our mains had been served to us (by another waiter) - there was some story about a bottle being dropped behind the bar but the point was he didn't bother to come and let us know there would be a delay.
Food was nice - nothing exceptional, starters were better than mains (the pork cheeks were a bit tasteless and the rabbit and langoustine pie very underwhelming). Good creme brulee for pudding.
It was our 35th anniversary and while we knew this wasn't exactly a 'fine-dining' place it came across as very 'fast-food' in style.
We've eaten in the Ivy in Edinburgh a few times and always found the food and particularly the service to be outstanding - such a shame this place is so poor in comparison. Doubt they'll care though as they seem to get plenty of customers!
Great venue and wonderful and attentive service.
It took 30 mins from being seated to taking orders. Then asked after dessert to vacate table in the next 10 minutes. Also bill included someone else’s drink order-service could have been improved on a lot
Amazing food, quick service, lovely atmosphere. Would reccomend
Have been to your restaurant many times and have loved the food but yesterday when I ordered my strip steak it came in one piece totally dry and overcooked nothing like the other times when I have eaten the same meal.
My daughter and I had lunch before going to the theatre.
We opted for a main only and some sourdough bread to nibble on!
I had the chicken Milanese which was delicious but my side of thick cut chips were disappointing! They were rather tasteless and not very hot!
With some many lovely restaurants to choose from in Covent Garden, I’m not sure I’ll rush back.
I think sides should be included in the price of a main course!
Great location for ROH.
Friendly staff and very helpful very
Our waiter was over enthusiastic to begin with, asked a lot of questions but didn’t listen to the answers. Served the wrong drink, which was not replaced or taken off the bill. On two occasions he bumped into me, once skimming my head with a dirty plate. The food was very good at London prices which we accept. Had to ask more than once for the bill with no option not to pay service charge.
Horrendously overcrowded, food is not a restaurant level at all ( i ordered same meal that I ordered before the lockdown - it is unrecognisable. Almost inedible) very hectic and slow service, most probably because of the crowds they stuffed into the space. Will not go there again. Humiliating to pay so much for such low quality. It is not food - it is fuel. Not restaurant- more like a petrol station.
This was my first trip to London in almost two years - thwarted by COVID-19. It was a day trip, along with a friend, to see “Hairspray” at The London Coliseum.
So lovely to visit The Ivy Market Grill again as part of aforementioned day trip. The food was as lovely as ever and the service was excellent. Our visit there helped to make for what was a much needed tonic after the awful time we’ve all been through.
Will be visiting again soon I hope!
Great menu selection and good quality food, coupled with reasonable prices.
Brilliant veggie breakfast and lovely staff. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and even got a special treat for my birthday!
We found the dining experience very cramped there was no privacy it was extremely warm and made it quite uncomfortable, there restaurant is beautiful decor etc but we didn't enjoy the experience
Lovely atmosphere and great service and food, will go back many times.
This is our second visit here. Have been waiting since March 2020 to be able to come to London again. I chose your Shepherds Pie again, it was just as good as the last time. No room for desert, but had coffee and wine anyways. Great time.
We had a pretheatre dinner booked and so we were pushed for time. We were delighted with the speed and efficiency of the service. The food was delicious and our waitress was great. Thank you Ivy Market Grill for making our evening a success.
Nice meal had to wait a while for the wine starts finished before it came
Food & service was excellent, was seated very quickly & waiter taking our order was very helpful. Lovely atmosphere over all & would highly recommend
The staff were lovely, but they were rushed off their feet. It was hard catching the waiters attention and I didn’t get my side with my main course, it came after, and our drink order was unbelievably slow. This was disappointing as it was a meal to celebrate one of my son’s graduation. I was stressed having to keep asking the poor staff to get our drinks and food. However having said that the staff were so delightful and positive when they must have been exhausted by the sheer number of diners. The restaurant spontaneously took the price of two of our drinks of our bill as an apology so I’m sure it is not always quite so frenetic.
Exceptionally tasty food served hot which do many places fail to do. Tables a bit close to each other but that’s the only criticism. Very good service.
Excellent meal, friendly attentive staff, lovely bustling atmosphere. All in all a nice place to eat in nice surroundings.
We had a lovely time food excellent and service very good thank you so much
Fantastic as always. Thank you for the great service.
A fantastic restaurant, with fantastic food and really lovely staff. The atmosphere was lovely! I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family and i can't wait to have another meal here!
I don’t like empty wine glasses and would prefer the white wine on the table . The main courses were brought too quickly before we had finished our nibbles . Otherwise very good .
I always wanted to go to the Ivy and so my mother and I decided to treat ourselves with a night on covent garden and to visit The martket grill. We were not disappointed. Food and ambiance amazing friendly and felt special. Good choice for vegetarians. I will be back for my next big birthday. It is defantly a treat cost wise.
Unfortunately not a good experience. Arrived for a Evening meal, very dark no lighting, couldn't read the manu adjoining table had a iPhone torch. Could not see the food. Steak was fatty and overall expensive. Best avoid and spend your money else where. Been to ivy before in Marlow and that was great .
