Great service, beautiful interior, the food was also very tasty with perfect sized portions. I would recommend and visit again. Thanks for a great experience
Very relaxing dinner with bubbles! Thank you! Very good service!
A poor start as our table wasn't ready and we had to walk around the block twice before being asked to wait at the bar whilst they got it ready and order a drink.
20 mins later and the bar staff ignored us (granted they were busy) and we were then taken to our table.
Interestingly it wasn't the table they clearly had planned for us as it was one that we noticed when we first arrived was ready to be cleared.
From then on, all excellent.
Great and attentive service, lovely food and drinks - the outside space on a warm evening felt like being on holiday
food was lovely
My only complaint was it was sometimes difficult to make eye contact with the waiter, but that is very small compared with the generally excellent level of service
Great service and food. Friendly accommodating staff will to help.
Love this place, waiting staff very attentive & food fabulous!
We arrived on time for our booked table for lunch and were made to wait 25 minutes to be seated as the previous party had not left - we were told this would take 5 minutes. No apology was given. We were sat at the bar and wanted to order drinks but the bar staff were going impressively out of their way to avoid eye contact with us so we could not order - we had to speak again to the hostess who in the end took our order herself. Again, no apology was given. In terms of the food, my colleague and I both order the scallops as a starter with both of our meals overcooked and the scallops tough and rubbery. For the price of the meal in total, the food was mediocre at best. I was also sat next to the waiters station and on several occasions staff hit my chair when navigating through the restaurant. Overall, the whole experience was really disappointing. We work in the area and had not eaten here before, but certainly won't be returning.
Service was very slow, and the food was average!
Very nice surrounding and atmosphere.
the decor, vibe, and service were great - the only thing I was expecting to be a little better was the food. I ordered a chicken Milanese which was rather rubbery, and the prawn tempura were also a bit rubbery, and quite tasteless. We did have delicious profiteroles, though!! Staff were delightful and the restaurant is clean with fabulous interiors in a wonderful location. Would recommend.
Need a lighter summer menu. Crispy duck salad not that great - strange flavours with watermelon and didn’t work
If you want an afternoon tea in London, go somewhere else. The sandwich offering was poor and there was a distinct lack of tea, one small pot is not enough. You can’t fault them on COVID regulations, after squeezing your order onto a tiny table, indeed you never saw a sole until it was time to pay the bill. You knew they were there though, you could hear them shouting to each other. Honestly, it’s overpriced, you’re paying for ‘The Ivy’ name. We visited London on a Monday where afternoon tea offerings are limited at the moment, don’t do what we did and book it because it’s one of the few available, go ANYWHERE else.
On arrival and throughout our visit the staff were superb. Very welcoming and helpful.
The outdoor seating in the closed road wasn't entirely what I'd had in mind as the usual standard for The Ivy line of restaurants but the venue had made the best if it and it wasn't a big deal.
We loved the little birthday cake surprise at the end if the meal. Such a wonderful gesture, thank you!
Service was pretty poor, sat down for 40 minutes before being offered a drink, we then waited 20 minutes for someone to tell us that the drink was unavailable. We felt very forgotten by the staff and they were pretty rude. Food was good though!
Lovely al fresco setting - excellent attentive service, delicious food and lots of choice
Great food and great service. The tempura prawns and calamari with the miso dip was particularly amazing. Service was quick and it was lovely being able to sit outside in the sunshine. Would definitely visit again.
Top quality food ......... wine a bit expensive
We were celebrating a 50th birthday and wanted somewhere special...they did not disappoint! Fantastic waiting staff who were very attentive but not smothering, food choice and quality superb. We had great seats outside on the patio looking over Covent Garden and the ambience was perfect. We retired inside for late evening cocktails to finish off and the interior was as inviting as the patio. We will go back fo sure and look forward to trying other branches. Confidently and highly recommend, but book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Lovely restaurant, good food and excellent service. Will definitely go again.
The socially distanced seating arrangements were comfortable given how busy the whole area was yesterday, alarmingly so too. Food was excellent. The waitress was friendly, helpful and totally professional. Lovely setting and a super evening.
Good service, good menu, nice food and not overly expensive
There was a small problem with our order but the manager was very helpful in rectifying this.
Good food, lovely atmosphere and great service. Thank you!
I always love the ivy and this did bit disappoint
Really poor un-attentive service. Expected more based on place and pricing - but as an example, drink didn’t arrive for 20m had to ask - the couple at table next to us arrived after and had mains and paid and were leaving as ours was arriving - and our was an uncomplicated salad. But the icing on cake was the largely uninterested server - who as we were paying shouted over us to a group of ladies leaving and said thank you ladies have a great day! And then looked at us and said take card out! - which was an instruction to take the card from payment machine. Now the food was nice but I’ve had better and for sure had better service in a takeaway than here . I’d say if service makes you miserable find another career before people catch on and find another restaurant.
Iv eaten here many times and always great but this was the worst. Small portions and higher prices. The Ivy Market Grill isn’t the only place to eat around that area. Long wait between starter and mains. Shame. I won’t automatically choose The Ivy the next time we are in Covent Garden
Perfect! Very friendly service and delicious food. We will book again soon.
Leisurely, comfortable temp inside on a very hot day, good service, tasty food - what more can you ask for.
We had a really lovely brunch here in June. The Salted Caramel Martini was absolutely delicious! As you would expect from The Ivy the food is really tasty and well presented. We were sat in the seating area in the side street next to the restaurant on a Sunday morning at 11.30 and it wasn't too busy. The outdoor easting was nicely decorated and our servers were lovely.
Once again fabulous food and service!
Highly reccommend the breakfast
Food absolutely amazing! Friendly staff! Lovely atmosphere.
We went for dinner to the Ivy Market Grill and
Great food and surroundings. Slightly surprised by the service though, the waiters forgot parts of our order and had to be asked to clear the table so we could order desert, which they had to double check what we ordered again 5 minutes after ordering. Other than the service it was lovely.
Recommend eating inside, not outside. Disappointed with the outside dining experience
Lovely evening food and service was excellent hope to visit again soon
Yesterday was meant to be a day in the capital to remember, we'd had a bad week our house move has stalled among other things. So on Thursday we decided on the spur of the moment to travel from Bristol to the capital. A quick download of rail apps and we were booked on an early morning train, booking a restaurant for an evening meal was proving difficult so we went for what we thought would be a safe bet the Ivy Market Grill. We were in London in time for breakfast in Soho. The day progressed walking through the parks and around some of the tourist spots interspersed with the odd alcholic drink or coffee, an excellent experience so far. No lunch we wanted to save ourselves for later. Then it was time for The Ivy. The scallops were a bit bland the duck terrine lovely. Then the mains arrived the vegetables in the curry were very hard and due to my partner having some dental issues made them inedible. My sirloin steak was supposed to have been medium cooked but was still raw in the middle, not only that there was lots of gristle. After the third mouthful of gristle plus the now very exposed raw meat I could no longer face another mouthful. The meals were offered to be replaced we declined but decided to have creme brulees instead. The mains were taken off the bill and the creme brulees were free. However, I was disappointed after I said I didn't want another steak my remaing uneaten sides were cleared along with the uneaten steak yet I was still charged for them. A disappointing experience and we then walked around Covent Garden before going onto Paddington for the train home. The many times we have previously eaten at Ivy establishments the food has always been excellent, it will not put us off these other restaurants particurlarly Bristol and Bath. Will we revisit The Ivy Market Grill? We reserve judgement but what should have been a lovely memorable day will always be remembered and tainted by the experience.
I have eaten in many of the IvyGardens, our local one being the excellent Tunbridge Wells one, the Flagship Ivy, Brasserie of light etc enough times to know the good reliable standard that is usually received in both service and food., the CG one falls way below par on both. Our server felt almost as though he was doing us a favour by serving us, his mask not even on properly, and just seemed very surly. We ordered the burger, it arrived with the chips barely warm and most definitely shy when being fried, they are usually crisp and too good to leave alone but I left at least 2/3, the 1/3 was the search for a single decent one. Worst part was the fat strips, sorry bacon..not only was any meat barely visible but it tasted as though it had sat around for too long in the heat and tasted slightly off.. it had a green tinge to it and an odd smell. Perhaps the tourist location makes this Ivy feel as though it doesn’t have to please as has few repeat customers, but it lets the brand standards drop.
We were greeted with Happy Anniversary when we arrived which was a nice touch and seated quickly.
The service all afternoon was attentive without being pushy. The food was excellent and choice of wine impressive. If you have an occasion to celebrate or just someone to impress - we would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Bravo!
Frequent visitors here. Usual high standards of service and food. Food would have got 5* other than my steak was sent back 3 times. Overcooked/overcooked/ then blue when I asked for medium. Dealt with however efficiently and meal not charged for.
Friendly service, Covid safe. Food & cocktails good value and enjoyable.
We went for a belated Christmas treat, so we're very much looking forward to it. Restaurant was very busy which was great to see. Food is always good at the Ivy and yesterday was no different. Our waiter was particularly good and his service was superb. Lovely buzzy atmosphere and excellent drink options. Will be back.
