Always a pleasure to eat at the Ivy. Covent Garden is a particular favourite as the food and service are always impeccable and we know if we go there with friends or clients, or if we recommend the establishment, we are never disappointed. Another successful evening and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Bravo to the chefs and all the delightful staff.
I went for a business breakfast. The service was good and the food most enjoyable. Once we moved to a quieter part of the restaurant the noise level was fine.
We visited on sunday night and have to say what a great night, we booked so no issues getting in and were shown to our table quickly, drinks were ordered along with the food so no fuss, The food and service was spot on and couldn't be faulted, we had salad and prawn/squid followed by salmon and prawn/monkfish curry, we shared the chocolate bombe to finish.
All in all a great night and we will definitely return.
We would have loved to take our coffee outside on the terrace but there is no licence after a certain time which was a shame but it didn't detract from our evening.
The Ivy Market Grill was amazing. Our food was outstanding and the entire atmosphere was perfect. The staff ensured we were happy at all times and did so without being intrusive to our private dinner. Absolutely amazing experience throughout.
The waiter service was not good for the standard of the restaurant. Food and drinks were served across the table. When our food was served the waitress had no idea which sauce went with each dish, we had to work it out for ourselves. Three of our party had sirloin steak but one was a completely different cut and when we asked if it was sirloin the waiter called another over who just stared at it and just said it was sirloin. We were not convinced. I would not go back to this restaurant.
Wonderful as always
Had a lovely Sunday brunch with family, nice food, staff very attentive. Lovely atmosphere and not hurried in anyway. Really enjoyed it.
The particular waiter we had must have been new as he was pretty hopeless
We had an excellent breakfast here, sitting outside on the terrace - extensive menu, very good service and very reasonably priced.
Been here before, fantastic as usual.
Fabulous meal - food, service, table - everything! Thank you. We’ll definitely be back!
Thank you for a lovely evening. My boyfriend and I were absolutely delighted at our experience with you on Saturday evening celebrating his birthday. The service was 5/5 alongside with the food and drink - not to mention the wonderful salted caramel espresso martini!
Loved the vibrant atmosphere, service good and food awesome. We all had different dishes, all beautifully presented and prepared to the highest standards.
Excellent in general, however I had two open table card vouchers (£200 and £50) and only one would work which was disappointing.
Our waiter was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for him .
Always excellent in every way. Everything is great here especially the friendly staff and we will certainly return again in the near future!
Food was poor the fish & chips was all batter with no fish and tasted as if it had been in the fryer for way too long. Requested mustard with a steak which came half way through the meal. Overpriced & underwhelmed. In my opinion style over substance.
Well attentive staff.
Looking forward to next visit.
Welcome from staff was good however felt rushed to order desserts as soon as main course was cleared. Waiting staff not overly friendly or chatty
Not the best one I’ve been to, very dark at the back of restaurant, not great service and the waitress got all 8 drinks wrong after we’d waited half hour for them. Good food but would return to this one again.
Great food, good sized portions- staff extremely attentive.
Enjoyed the meal very much and a great venue to meet up with our American relations
The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxed and classy. The food (I had a vegetarian full english) was delicious and I was happy to pat £13 for it considering breakfasts for half the price are nowhere near as good. The service was good but there were a lot of different people greeting us and checking on us throughout the meal. Some service was a little clumsy but overall everyone was very friendly and professional. A definite must for a relaxed meal in Covent Garden!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Loved it.
Great doos and service in a fantastic location
Had to wait nearly 50 mins for our main meal after our starters. The table is only allocated for 2 hours and as we had a theatre booking we literally ran out of time to have a dessert due to the delay.
I must say our waiter was friendly & exceptionally helpful and when the food arrived it was delicious!
Afternoon was just average. Only scones are nice. The rest were average.
No selection of teas given.
It was a pretty good lunch, but the service was a little bit slow
Amazing restuarant, been twice now, the food is outstanding as is the service. Definitely one of our favourites. But best to book as gets quite busy being in Covent Garden
Good service, lovely food and lively atmosphere. One of my favourite places for lunch.
Market grill was an excellent restaurant and I would definitely recommend to all tourists visiting. Food was excellent as was the service and the surrounding area is a must see in London
High quality meal and good wine selection, made for enjoyable evening.
Third visit for old schoolfriends' meet up lunch, has become a firm favourite. Despite being a busy service, we were not hurried out. Always a pleasure to meet and eat at this restaurant.
Perfect .. lovely menu, cool setting and excellent service
I've previously only had good experiences at Ivy Market Grill. On this occasion, though, our waiter was fairly surly. When we returned a creme brûlée because it was completely soft - i.e. no brûlée - (all the rest of the food was terrific) he and the manager declared rather imperiously that this was 'how we do it'. It left a sour taste in what was an otherwise lovely evening.
Excellent service with plenty of professional staff. Food was great and beautifully presented. the chocolate bombe pudding was amazing and served in such a nice way.
Will definitely return.
very classy. Food excellent. Thick cut chips to die for. Would certainly recommend though it might be difficult to have 3 courses in time allotted
A pleasant experience, although not many vegan options. Please add some more! The service was rather abrupt, and when we wanted to pay, there were three members of the waiting staff standing around chatting, not paying attention to the customers.
The Ivy has a very good brand; its restaurants are all beautiful. To an extent, they are vitims of their own success. The tables are very close to each other, which can make it noisy and means that it is always full and buzzing. As a result, however, service can be slow and the food isn't always as hot as it might be. The waiter we had on Wednesday was absolutely delightful and a real advert for the place. I love the proper tablecloths, crockery and cutlery and I really enjoy the variety of the menu.... but I wish I could get away from the feeling that there are simply more people in there at busy times than they can cope with! A good addition to the Covent Garden restaurant scene, though, for all that.
We had a really lovely meal for my birthday. We chose from the pre theatre menu which was extremely good value and the food was delicious.
We will definitely return.
