Was told to have Sunday roast while in London and this place came highly recommended by a local Chef.
What a treat..delicious and generous food , great Yorkshire pudding and roast (both chicken and beef), followed by a light and refreshing avocado and lime cheesecake. Lovely service by Anubis. A must go if you are visiting London
Decent place - good service, relaxed atmosphere and worth a trip to
It's hard to find words that can say how I like the steak. It was incredible and the perfect end for my birthday. When I'll come back to London, I definitely will come back to Jones Family
Delicious food, great service and really good atmosphere. Had a lovely time in the restaurant.
Our waitress was phenomenal. One of our party had some serious, and complex allergies that she spent time to understand properly, and worked seamlessly with the kitchen to manage them.
We all ate steak, which was extremely tasty, and beautifully cooked. The sides were great, and a good sizes too. I will definitely be back.
Fantastic steak, lovely staff bit too keen. Tables too close together, still had a great meal
Unfortunately my views of this restaurant have changed since my first visit. I took my partner here for valentines and we ordered the lamb ribs, but there was NO lamb at all.. only fat! We complained to the manager and she was very rude (didn’t seem to care) and gave us a measly £1.80 off. The service was very bad, the waiter kept ignoring us (probably because we dared to complain) and was very unhelpful with any questions we’d ask (from wine to food recommendations) and didn’t seem bothered to try. We left and no one even said goodbye, never have we been treated so badly as paying customers.
The meal definitely wasn’t worth it and we didn’t have a good experience. Would not recommend again. There are a lot more friendly and enjoyable restaurants to choose from in Shoreditch.
Great service. Our waitress was so attentive and lovely. The food was good but sadly my partners steak wasn’t the best cut. really enjoyed the root veg though! Loved the space and would come back
A++ I would really recommend this restaurant, the food amd service was outstanding :) Will definately be going back again soon.
Layout of the restaurant was a strange experience- felt like we were huddled together in a room with now option to sit elsewhere or line of sight.
Also, my seat was really low and soft- I folded up my coat and sat on that to be a little more raised.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and fantastic staff. Couldn't fault it
We had the beef roast which was very nice. The meat was good quality and the portions were just right.
This was the perfect place to eat after my son's graduation ceremony at the Barbican Centre. It felt special enough for a celebration, warm and cosy, with great low level lighting. We really enjoyed having a cocktail in the funky bar upstairs before going down to the cosy restaurant below. It was busy (even for a Tuesday night) but the service was good and the food was great. We all enjoyed our meals and I can recommend the duck starter which was lovely and my son enjoyed his steak.
Just one minor point: I had seen online that there was a separate vegan menu but that wasn't offered to us and I had to ask for it. Why not offer all menus to everyone? You don't have go be vegan or vegetarian to enjoy those dishes.
I had researched a few restaurants in the area as I really wanted everything to be right and I'm so pleased I made this choice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Absolutely fantastic!! Will definitely return in the future.
Amazing food, would absolutley go again!
Pleasant place. Good ambience. Table service was slow. The food was terrible. My daughter's steak was ordered medium to well. It arrived thoroughly pink throughout. My pork chop suffered the opposite fate. Badly charred on both sides and inedible on some levels. The flavour was definitely ruined. The kitchen seems to have problems. We didn't make a fuss with the waitress because that would have ruined our evening. I'll just vote with my wallet and never return.
Delicious birthday meal. We had prime rib steak with triple cooked chips and it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. On my reservation I had said it was my birthday and was welcomed with a card signed by all the staff which was a nice touch. Not cheap but worth every penny. Would definitely recommend.
Great food & lovely staff!!
The food was delicious and the service was great! It was our second time and we count on going again
Four of us had a meal on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. The food was amazing, service was excellent and I even got a bday card from the staff. A nice touch. We’ll be back.
Tasty meal, with great variety of menu options. Steak was cooked perfectly for medium rare. The truffle macaroni cheese was an unexpected delight. All staff were very friendly and prompt. We were seated in a booth in the restaurant which was great as it meant we could easily chat to each other. Noise levels were pleasant.
We were in London for a long weekend and staying in Shoreditch. Stumbled upon this restaurant on open table and liked the look and sound of it. We were a little early so had a drink in the bar area first. Staff were polite and friendly and the service overall was good. We shared the Chateaubriand which was lovely. Has a nice menu and fell about the place.
One of the better Sunday lunches in Islington. Fantastic duck fat roast potatoes, delicious gravy and sumptuous carrots and parsnips. The poussin was succulent, but tricky to eat off the bone and while I’m a big fan of mash on a roast it was a little too much ‘soft’, a 3rd or 4th roasty would have been much preferred. The addition of sprouts and cauliflower rounded out my five a day but they were a little bland and al dente and certainly didn’t compensate for my one piece of carrot. At two courses for £18 it’s a decent value roast compared with others in the area and the browny was delicious. Will probably return (the rest of the menu sounded tasty).
Loved the nut roast and the service was excellent. Spent a very pleasant Sunday afternoon here. Will definitely come again.
Really tasty food and good wine would definitely go back
Very good food and great service. A great restaurant.
Great service as always and the food was incredible
Had high expectations of restaurant to celebrate our Engagement the night before, however we were extremely disappointed with the service we received. Food was OK, but overpriced for what we got. Very inattentive staff on the night. We were sat in the corner of the room which we didn't mind, however we did not expect to be ignored for every round of service for example, once we sat down it was approx. 10 min's before we were asked if we wanted Water, then took 10 minutes to come and give some tap water, then another 10 minutes to ask if we want a drink, another 10 minutes for it to come and so on.... Our Main course was steak, I spilled sauce over the table so asked if I could get some more, this never came. When wanting the bill there was no one to ask the bill so we had to go up and pay ourselves. Not sure why Opentable (when booking) asks why we are visiting as when we put to celebrate engagement, you would half expect a mid range restaurant to acknowledge something like that. Very Disappointed overall.
Tasty food great service had dinner here with our 8 year old son we all enjoyed ourselves.
The main reason for our disappointment at the restaurant was the wait for over half an hour from finishing our starter until our main arrived. We had already said we were under a little time pressure when we arrived, so this lengthy wait did not help. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy our meal as a result.
Ordered the the vegetarian and fish selection off the Xmas menu, food was OK but expected much higher quality cooking for £38. Good cocktails.
Went for dinner here with two friends and was very impressed with the quality of the food here. It was far better than many much more expensive restaurants. The Atmosphere was nice and the staff were helpful (if a little
over-stretched; though it being Christmas time there were a few largish dinner parties there which might explain this).
Would definitely go here again and recommend the place to friends.
My friends and I really enjoyed our lunch. The food was great and the service friendly and efficient. We loved the different areas of the restaurant and after our lunch we went upstairs to have our coffee. Great place and would highly recommend.
Far too noisy for me, personally, but, otherwise, such a great spot! I booked another table straight away!!
This is a sensational restaurant. The food (steak) is one of the best in London and this is a gastronomical sensation. I have been on a number of occasions and it is always brilliant!
Excellent. Very good Sunday roast, though I will order an extra portion of roast potties next time - only got two each, which was# extra annoying considering how good they were. Three had beef, two of which enjoyed one found was a bit chewy and should have ordered it medium. One poussin which was lovely, very moist. Very good value too. Will go again for sure.
Great Sunday lunch
Lovely beef Sunday roast with great quality meat from Ginger Pig. Veggie option good, but lack of roast potatoes was slightly disappointing. Nut roast was also a tad too sweet. Other than that it was very good and the staff were fantastic.
We ordered steak medium to well done it was a joke not half cooked service was slow so wasn’t worth asking to be put into the oven agin.. overall very disappointed with everything, portions are very small was hungry after it..
