The Jones Family Project
The service and food was outstanding. Some of the best steak we’ve had in London. Accompanied by a lovely Lebanese wine. Really nice evening and would definitely go back.
Service was very friendly and attentive. We shared a porterhouse which was good if not outstanding and 2 sauces. The red wine jus was very nice, the béarnaise was also nice. Sides were quite disappointing, triple cooked chips were not especially crispy, greens were too buttery and aubergine dish was just unpleasant. Mackerel starter was again, good but not great although generous in portion size. Ice creams and sorbets (not made in house) were great. Really wanted to enjoy the meal given the reviews this place has, this is my second visit, but given the prices are at Hawksmoor level I can't see why you would choose this over it, or even Gaucho.
Unique surroundings, we had a lovely wine, and was pleased with wine selection. And apart from nice seating arrangement from the host which I hope was done on purpose as we did specify a date night, didn’t feel anything else was done to attempt to make evening special.
Our server was lovely, and everything we asked for we received, felt that his section was quite challenging, felt needed an extra body, which in turn lead to an unsatisfactory service experience. Had to top up our own water and wine. Meat was amazing, and burger very juicy and delicious, great produce! Felt that sides tasted good and well seasoned but lacked wow factor.
Overall happy but felt average compared to other competitors. See
Fantastic prices with great food, and brilliant service.
Great Ribeye steak and cocktails. Reasonable value, didn’t disappoint.
Nice every day dining. Rather loud so if your going for a romantic dinner it’s quite hard to hear each other.
Possibly the best steak I’ve ever eaten! Service was amazing and food was incredible. Can’t wait to go back again.
The food was excellent and everything you expect of a good steak! However, we were quite upset that we let the restaurant know that it was our anniversary and they shoved us in a dark, dingy corner. Although one of the waitresses was really helpful with moving us, we were still put away from the main section which was more atmospheric. It would also have been nice for them to acknowledge that it was a special occasion, we don’t expect freebees, but a little something would have been appreciated.
Got a bit of an odd, immediate ‘no’ when I asked if I could have the nut roast with gravy instead of cheese sauce, but then she checked with the manager and they did it in the end! Food took a while to arrive, but the nut roast and the chicken were TOTALLY delicious so completely worth it. Honestly one of the best roasts I’ve ever had.
Atmosphere is warm and casual; good for a catch-up with friends. The friendly, polite and knowledgeable staff looked after my coeliac friend really well. It’s a lovely place and we’ll definitely be back.
Fantastic . Took my bf here, it's a great affordable option especially if you're looking for something fine dining but affordable and good portions. This is the place
Had a great time at the restaurant though food was not like last time. Still service was good!
Great ambience, but the food didn’t blow me away as, while the dishes were interesting, they were served slightly cold and unseasoned. I didn’t complain or mention it, but I’m sure they would have been very obliging if I had done as the service was attentive and waiters and waitresses very accommodating.
Delicious food and great cocktails! We would definitely return.
Excellent ambiance and great menu. Attentive staff, and when one member of my party had an issue with their meal, the waiter spotted there was a problem without being called over to the table, resolved the issue and offered a free refill of her wine as way of an apology, all without fuss or our intervention. Top drawer service. The food was excellent, side dishes generous and we would all recommend our meals..and none of us went for the steaks which are house specialty, so I look forward to trying those the next time I go here. It was a busy Saturday night, but you never felt unattended, the food arrived in a very acceptable waiting time, and the eating areas are comfortably laid out, so you don’t feel too close to other diners. If you like meat...try here!
Service was great ..... we didn’t feel rushed. Steaks ok ..... nothing special, triple cooked chips excellent & spinach watery & disappointing.
Sat in nice booth & liked the ambience & privacy
Ok restaurant with great service but avg food and not exciting environment. I probably wouldn’t go back, unfortunately.
Excellent service from the bar tenders and good cocktails on the happy hour produced to a high level. Dangerous!
Epic steak. Looked after my friend with allergies, sensitively and helpfully (without restricting the entire menu!). Brilliant service, and great wines.
Was told to have Sunday roast while in London and this place came highly recommended by a local Chef.
What a treat..delicious and generous food , great Yorkshire pudding and roast (both chicken and beef), followed by a light and refreshing avocado and lime cheesecake. Lovely service by Anubis. A must go if you are visiting London
Decent place - good service, relaxed atmosphere and worth a trip to
It's hard to find words that can say how I like the steak. It was incredible and the perfect end for my birthday. When I'll come back to London, I definitely will come back to Jones Family
Delicious food, great service and really good atmosphere. Had a lovely time in the restaurant.
Our waitress was phenomenal. One of our party had some serious, and complex allergies that she spent time to understand properly, and worked seamlessly with the kitchen to manage them.
We all ate steak, which was extremely tasty, and beautifully cooked. The sides were great, and a good sizes too. I will definitely be back.
Fantastic steak, lovely staff bit too keen. Tables too close together, still had a great meal
Unfortunately my views of this restaurant have changed since my first visit. I took my partner here for valentines and we ordered the lamb ribs, but there was NO lamb at all.. only fat! We complained to the manager and she was very rude (didn’t seem to care) and gave us a measly £1.80 off. The service was very bad, the waiter kept ignoring us (probably because we dared to complain) and was very unhelpful with any questions we’d ask (from wine to food recommendations) and didn’t seem bothered to try. We left and no one even said goodbye, never have we been treated so badly as paying customers.
The meal definitely wasn’t worth it and we didn’t have a good experience. Would not recommend again. There are a lot more friendly and enjoyable restaurants to choose from in Shoreditch.
Great service. Our waitress was so attentive and lovely. The food was good but sadly my partners steak wasn’t the best cut. really enjoyed the root veg though! Loved the space and would come back
A++ I would really recommend this restaurant, the food amd service was outstanding :) Will definately be going back again soon.
Layout of the restaurant was a strange experience- felt like we were huddled together in a room with now option to sit elsewhere or line of sight.
Also, my seat was really low and soft- I folded up my coat and sat on that to be a little more raised.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and fantastic staff. Couldn't fault it
We had the beef roast which was very nice. The meat was good quality and the portions were just right.
This was the perfect place to eat after my son's graduation ceremony at the Barbican Centre. It felt special enough for a celebration, warm and cosy, with great low level lighting. We really enjoyed having a cocktail in the funky bar upstairs before going down to the cosy restaurant below. It was busy (even for a Tuesday night) but the service was good and the food was great. We all enjoyed our meals and I can recommend the duck starter which was lovely and my son enjoyed his steak.
Just one minor point: I had seen online that there was a separate vegan menu but that wasn't offered to us and I had to ask for it. Why not offer all menus to everyone? You don't have go be vegan or vegetarian to enjoy those dishes.
I had researched a few restaurants in the area as I really wanted everything to be right and I'm so pleased I made this choice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Absolutely fantastic!! Will definitely return in the future.
Amazing food, would absolutley go again!
Pleasant place. Good ambience. Table service was slow. The food was terrible. My daughter's steak was ordered medium to well. It arrived thoroughly pink throughout. My pork chop suffered the opposite fate. Badly charred on both sides and inedible on some levels. The flavour was definitely ruined. The kitchen seems to have problems. We didn't make a fuss with the waitress because that would have ruined our evening. I'll just vote with my wallet and never return.
Delicious birthday meal. We had prime rib steak with triple cooked chips and it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. On my reservation I had said it was my birthday and was welcomed with a card signed by all the staff which was a nice touch. Not cheap but worth every penny. Would definitely recommend.
Great food & lovely staff!!
The food was delicious and the service was great! It was our second time and we count on going again
Four of us had a meal on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. The food was amazing, service was excellent and I even got a bday card from the staff. A nice touch. We’ll be back.
Tasty meal, with great variety of menu options. Steak was cooked perfectly for medium rare. The truffle macaroni cheese was an unexpected delight. All staff were very friendly and prompt. We were seated in a booth in the restaurant which was great as it meant we could easily chat to each other. Noise levels were pleasant.
