The Kew Gardens hotel is a Gastro pub, bar and 20 bedroom boutique hotel. We are situated in the heart of Kew village (west London) but away from the hustle & bustle of the city life.
Our restaurant is located adjacent but slightly hidden from our main bar area where we offer a formal table service. Our menu changes on a monthly basis depending on what is in season and best at market.
Boasting an extensive wine list which is updated frequently by regular wine tastings for guests and customers to help us choose our list.
Our full al a carte menu is available in the bar or if your after something a bit lighter we serve an all day bar snack menu.

Whilst we love our local Kew Gardens hotel and pub and usually enjoy their food, we were disappointed this time with the Sunday roast dinner. Whilst the flavours were all delicious and tasty, we didn't get served what was stated on the menu. The menu stated the meal includes red cabbage and kale which instead we got a tiny piece of the cabbage base and no kale. The roast potatoes were very lacking, I had two tiny pieces placed under my chicken and they were disappointing in that they were not roasted nice and crispy and golden, more like boiled and a bit soggy. I think the public see the roast spud as an important part of a roast dinner so it would be nice if the amount of them was increased and they are cooked better. Other than that, the meal was very tasty and cooked well and this would not stop us dining at this lovely pub again.

It took about 30 mins to receive our food ( for 2 people). Although the waitress was good and personable. The lamb starter was dry. There was an overload of pasta served with the 3 scallops. We sat outside in the garden which is pleasurable but it needed better lighting to see our food !

Room very comfortable. Good breakfast menu. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Great location, 5 minute walk to Kew garden tube station. 10 minute walk to Victoria gate entrance Royal Botanical gardens Kew. Great links to central London and theatres.

Unfortunately the meat was tough and the knife was not sharp so not a very good combination. The presentation on the plate was not either as most of the meal was covered in brown gravy with the Yorkshire pudding place on top. I recently had a similar meal at the City Barge at Strand on the Green which was one of the best that I have had .

Kiril could not have been more lovely, welcoming and attentive. Especially hyper vigilant of accommodating uncommon allergies - rare and hugely appreciated. Many thanks to him and to the chef for adapting to these challenges - lovely and also rare to come to a place that truly cooks from scratch and can do so. Highly recommended!

We had a very pleasant evening here. For me, both the starter and the main were over salted. I ordered the roast chicken “Sunday dinner”. I prefer this to be traditional style - maybe additional herbs, but not the spice added to carrots and cabbage, which was not identified on the menu.

For fine dining things need improvement. First the menu. This was a new menu we were told. It was a good menu, . What we had was ok, good quality, but needs to be hotter. The service was erratic. This was due to the waiter not being informed of what was on the new menu. Things got hectic and he left. The wine was brought to table without opening the bottle. At over 20.00 a bottle we expect better service. So better service, focus on detail. On positive side the restaurant was very nice looking.

Food was good but not amazing considering the price - For example, had the fish and chips for £17, but it was no better than a £10 fish and chips. Service was great though, the hostess was very kind and attentive.

Staff members are friendly and service very good, but chef needs to make plates piping hot which would help insulate food (use white napkins to hold plates which is common practice with the heat and avoids touch of the plate). Plate was cold by the time on table and food not warm enough. Eating the Sunday roast was not the most enjoyable as just not warm enough (previously food was hotter). We hope this can be done for next time - let us know if it will be done to reassure us.

The Kew Gardens Hotel is somewhere local we have been to many times before and therefore arranged to meet friends there this Saturday night for a relatively informal meal and catch up. On this evening however, the experience was a bit disappointing. My wife and I had a sharing charcuterie platter which consisted of some dry crispy crackers, ham and salami and not a lot else. We asked for some dips but it was really disappointing. For mains two of us had the seabass which came with curried sauce and samphire and some weird crisps. It was a little tasteless and again a bit disappointing. The desserts were sticky toffee pudding and rice pudding which were both tasty and decent sized portions. The waiter/waitress were pleasant and reasonably attentive although the bottle of fizzy water was warm so we had to ask for ice. The ambience was good, the Kew Gardens Hotel has been a little dead at times when we have been there before but it had a good atmosphere on the night. However by 10pm people were leaving and we had to leave by 10:30pm once last orders had been called which on a Saturday night seemed a little premature. As a local pub it was a shame the food wasn't better and we had to leave by 10:30. In fairness on previous visits when it was just my wife and I the food had been better and we hadn't really wanted to stay beyond 10:30 anyway.

Came here for lunch before Rugby at Twickenham. Excellent location very close to Kew Gardens tube. The food (we had burgers), beer and service were all excellent. Will definitely be back again in future

I don't normally write reviews, but wanted to say how much we've enjoyed a couple of family lunches here before going to Kew Gardens. It's a great place to go with kids - it's large and not too busy, so there is space for buggies, and the kids are able to move from the table without bothering other diners. The manager is so friendly and accommodating, and he's been great both times we've been. The food was good, standard pub fare but high quality.

Wonderful Sunday lunch, lived in Kew for years and only ever popped in for drinks, until now! The food was fantastic, staff were lovely and to top it off it had a Childrens arts and crafts table with supervised company, fabulous lady called Chantal - kids loved it, all round winner and will most definitely be back soon!

Great deal for January. Food well prepared. Side salad a little measly for £4.50 though. The service was fabulous. Special shout out for lady who served us. Will be going again.

This pub has had a lot of staff changes recently. The staff are always lovely but the restaurant went through an off phase, but it's back up to scratch now and really brilliant all round. A really chilled and lovely evening.

Very disappointing experience, which ruined a special occasion. Service was ridiculously slow, people seated after us were eating before our order was taken. Waited 45 mins to have order taken and when meal came finally after another long wait -it was cold, and so were we. We were moved from a nice warm table to a freezing cold corner and forgotten. Seated next to one of a few loud, drunken groups meant even shouting was difficult, so it was not possible to have conversation. It was so dire we thought about leaving a few times and I regret that we tried to make the best of a bad situation. A real shame, the experience ruined the whole evening which was meant to be an important family celebration. Maybe a great pub for a few bawdy pints but not a great dining experience.

The manager was extremely helpful in reallocating us to a table which was more comfortable than the booth which had been reserved for us. She was very cheerful in her approach - very refreshing! Food was good, ambience very comfortable but very noisy. Inevitable when diners are having a good time!

First time here as we were going to Kew Gardens so wanted to be to relaxed and chilled and have something to eat and have a drink before going. Nice atmosphere. Service was good and the food was lovely and tasty. Will definitely come back next year when we go back to see the lights at Kew Gardens
