The Kew Garden Hotel
We really enjoyed our meal for Father’s Day. The service was very friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and I really rate Kew Gardens hotel for their great choice of children’s meals.
We went for sunday lunch and the food was delicious and generous. There is not a huge choice of dishes, especially for vegans or vegetarians, but what we had we all enjoyed. However, I was most impressed that the wine list was marked with wines suitable for vegans / vegetarians. This is something extremely rare to come across and i really appreciated it. A brilliant step forward!
Very friendly staff and environment. Good food - deserts were fantastic!
Staff great. Food great. Wines great. What’s not to like.
Amazing new lady there called Rhiannon who was an absolute gem and couldn’t have done more for us and our kids. We’ll be back even sooner next time! Thank you!
PERFECT WAY TO A LOVELY DAY THANKU TO THE LOVELY GIRL WHO SERVED US
Attractive restaurant, lovely staff very helpful with wine choice. Restaurant was cold and draughty. food was very good with the exception of the reheated chocolate brownie which tasted of burnt chocolate.
Great food, slow service, but I would definitely recommend for a Sunday roast!
Both my partner and I had the venison ragu but it did not have much flavour and was just about warm enough to eat. My other two friends had lovely hot and delicious meals. Burger and fish. Service was v professional
We had excellent service at the Kew Garden Hotel and good food. A treat to have so many vegetarian choices and the vegan fish and chips was delicious. The restaurant has a great ambiance and the staff are particularly friendly. I left my mobile behind and they rescued it for me until I was able to return and collect. This is our first visit but we will come again and recommend it to our friends. Very handy for Kew Garden Station and Kew Gardens. Glad we have discovered this pub/hotel.
Excellent chicken pie, table close to the fire on a cold evening and charming waitress!
Frankly rather disappointing. Strong fish smell as walked into the pub which was remarkably empty bearing in mind we were in the pre Xmas period. Frankly I might have left if we hadn’t got a table booked and we weren’t with friends. Food was OK but seemed a bit pricey
My partner and I are getting married at the Kew Gardens Hotel in a few months time, think that says it all!
Low noise levels is a huge plus in our view.
Lovely food and friendly service. And very festive - beautiful Christmas trees in the bar and restaurant. Would definitely go back.
Sadly a terrible experience all round, food took 2 hours to arrive, we were late for our slot at Christmas at Kew and 2 of the meals were undercooked. Rooms are basic but clean and not as I expected having looked at the website. The boiler broke overnight so there was no hot water or heating and breakfast the following morning (although lovely) took nearly an hour. The staff did their best but unfortunately just a catalogue of problems from start to end :(
We had the roast and it was delicious! Their yorkshire pudding is probably the best I've had. Also, don't forget to try the stick date pudding!
Great place for Sunday lunch!
We experienced a warm reception a private booth and enjoyed a beautiful meal from a varied menu all at an affordable price. The house wine was lovely. The location near Kew Gardens was excellent.
Exceptionally rude waiting staff, limited & overpriced menu.
Service was extremely slow despite the restaurant being not busy. The worst deserts I have seen anywhere in years. I has panna cotta seved in a breakfast bowl which was disgusting.
Tried a different location for lunch before a lovely stroll in the gardens, v nice and friendly server, the food was good although tiny portions of greens,
and a small bit of carrot and 3 very small roasts was very mean and unnessary, had to ask for more gravy as my partner had barely enough to cover her food, yorkshire was adequate but hardly the best in town, overall and pleasant lunch let down but silly veg portions, £90 for inc 2 sides and a bottle of wine.
Great evening with friends, staff were lovely and attentive, our pies and burgers were delicious. Good wine list too.
Kew Garden Hotel Restaurant was quite close to our flat and we were considering to try here for a while. Last Friday we've found the occasion with my family of three to try. The menu is quite unique and calls for every kind of taste&expectations. We've tried the scallopes, stuffed chicken and lamb steak along with a few pints of delicious lager and ale. My son selected the fish & chips from the kids menu and it was both delicious and could stuff a grown up man. The service was great, considering it was quite crowded during a Friday evening, we've had everything in time and place. The waitresses were quite friendly and helpful about sharing their recommendations when asked for the drinks. Thanks for everything and we sure'll be back!
P.S: Book a seat early in the day before giving here a try since it gets quite crowded around restaurants at Kew, especially during Friday and weekend evenings.
We’ve been regulars here over several years but the food has taken a nose dive. My sea bass dish was stone cold and the advertised fondant potatoes were tiny, rock hard and burnt beyond forgiveness. My husband’s fish and chips were not as good as they used to be but edible. To be fair, the staff immediately apologised and deducted the cost of my dish from our bill. We were impressed by their professionalism especially the new lady Nichola but it’s such a shame that an otherwise lovely venue is let down by a struggling menu.
Booked online and had a choice of seating when we arrived. Buzzy atmosphere and great service from the bar and wait staff. My husband had scallops which were exceptionally well cooked, delicate and served in their shells. My sole was cooked to perfection with a delicious brown shrimp, samphire and tomato sauce and we both had chips as side dishes, hot, crisp and salty just as they should be.
When it was to leave the bar staff kindly ordered us a black cab so that we didn’t need to walk home in heavy rain. I can thoroughly recommend the Kew Gardens hotel, prices are reasonable and the food is excellent.
Great roast on a Sunday but service is extremely slow & not very attentive.
Poor food choice (they didn’t have a lot left!), it needs a big makeover. We couldn’t to leave! Good service however.
Father’s Day lunch food was great and service very good
Came for a quiet lunch on a trip to Kew Gardens. Food good and service fine .
Good friendly atmosphere and staff, although the service was a little slow at times. The food was very good, but not much choice for vegetarians or vegans.
We had a dinner reservation on Sunday evening. When looking at the menu the waiter informed us of things that were no longer on the menu.....often happens....however he also told us there no potato’s or vegetables on the menu. As this was a Sunday and the main courses were roast dinners, meant we would have to have paid £19 for a cut of meat! We left and found a wonderful French restaurant. No excuses for not having the essentials for a roast dinner, not impressed. Room needed a lick of paint, furniture was very rustic which didn’t compliment the modern bed and bathroom,.....which also needed a paint touch up. The balcony was dirty, it needs a wash down and a sweep.
Pleasant local eatery with good service and friendly ambience.
Waiting staff very friendly and food was excellent, family meal enjoyed by all. Recommend.
Lovely roast lunch for Mother’s Day. The service was quick and friendly and there was background live music which was great.
We have been here many times, it is our neighbourhood lunch time venue.
Everything was excellent as usual, however the live music, which was very jolly and added to the atmosphere, was too loud. It was impossible to talk at times. We were sitting in the conservatory at the back of the room.
Mother’s Day lunch, all lovely
Took a while to get served and then food and drink took a while to arrive.
Sunday lunch looked more like the leftovers.
Waitress was good but let down by the main course.
The Sea bass, on the menu at £16.50 was a single small fillet - poor value. The burger option included 2 burgers which were as dry as cardboard and tasteless. The Children had fish and chips which they seemed to enjoy.
All topped off with a service charge of 12.5℅ made for a surprising bill !
The heating wasn't working and it was absolutely freezing!!
good food and not too noisy so it was great to be able to talk to my friends.
