It seemed like they leaned towards Japanese impressions this season, but with an appropriate use of western cuisine components to go somewhere beyond the traditional Japanese foods. The serving staff are incredibly attentive and provide explanations of every course. We didn’t opt for the white truffle upsell, wanting to save the dishes as intended. The food was phenomenal, the wine sublime and the service impeccable. I always love coming here, it's so friendly and unassuming and the staff are so professional and enthusiastic about what they do. Special thanks to young Josh, who looked after us all evening and was a credit to the team - thanks for putting up with our high jinks and the free loaf of bread to take away! It was the one I missed when it closed over the lockdown and the one I looked forward to returning to when things opened again. I wasn’t disappointed when I finally got the chance to eat there again and maybe love it even more now. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is so relaxed, the decor beautiful and understated, the service attentive but relaxed. It all just works.
