The Lewinnick Lodge
Perched atop the cliffs of Pentire headland, with stunning views across the mighty Atlantic, Lewinnick Lodge offers a spectacular dining experience.
The Lodge is open for breakfast at 8am and serves food throughout the day until 10pm (10.30pm in the summer). The ethos is simple: fresh, seasonal produce prepared on the premises, using the very best the Cornish larder has to offer. We aim to cater for all tastes on our regular menus but if you are a lover of fresh fish & seafood then our specials will have you coming back time and again.
Other facilities include a large sun terrace, open fireplace, large public bar with pool table/live sport. We are also dog friendly in the bar area.
A lovely lunch with a friend by the sea! Friendly staff, good food, innovative Mocktails and a great atmosphere, especially as it was a little quieter than usual; perfect for our long awaited catch up! My friend really enjoyed her fish and chips and I savoured every mouthful of my moules and chips! Great coffee as well, not too bitter as it often is at other places. I’m a regular visitor and often introduce others to this great eatery on the Cornish Coast. Once they’ve visited they always return, a testament to all concerned!
Fantastic food. Ate here 3 times during our holiday and each time was great.
Very welcoming staff. We had an lovely meal, only 2 courses though, because I felt the desserts were a bit pricey, at (on average) around £8 each.
Starters and mains were reasonably priced though.
We always feel at home, almost like we part own Lewinnick Lodge. We go every time we are in Newquay (we have an apartment on Pentire). Whether it is just for a drink, breakfast, lunch or dinner we always have a good and relaxing time. It isn't quiet. There is always children and dogs - we love that too. People talk to each other and have fun. We will be back there next weekend for dinner. Can't imagine Pentire without Lewinnick Lodge. Love it. xx
Staff were very friendly and attentive, however one of our group had the pork (large plate) option and although delicious was not enough! More vegetables would have been better. Not being a fan of fish or red meat, it would have been nice to see at least one chicken dish option on the menu (unless there was one and I missed it?) The ambience is great, although I did mark it 3 out of 5, because at my end of the table we were sat directly below the air conditioning unit, so felt a little chilly.
Despite these points all of the food we had was delicious! We live locally and run Airbnb accommodation and are always confident in recommending Lewinnick Lodge as a place to eat and drink.
We were very lucky and were sitting in a window overlooking the stormy sea! The service was poor, it took a long time for our drinks to arrive and the food was equally slow. However the staff themselves were friendly and helpful.
We had a lovely unrushed meal - although it was busy as it was half term - will definitely be back.
Great service, friendly staff and top quality food
It was ok...but I left a message on open table and emailed lewennick lodge to say that it was my husband’s birthday and there was NO acknowledgment of this. Not impressed. Our server was lovely, the food was mediocre.
Excellent service and food. Lovely place to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
We always bring friends and family to Lewinnick when the visit. We recently celebrated my Uncle and Aunts anniversary and they were totally looked after by the staff.
Really good food, service and location. Been here many times and not had a bad experience yet!
REALLY good food, really friendly staff and a great room and atmosphere. Our two kids loved it too. It was good when we came here a few years ago, and even better this time!
Cracking Sunday roast. Beautiful view. Brilliant staff. Good atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Can’t fault it in any way.
I’ve been here a couple of times now and the food is always very good. Well worth the money and the staff make you feel very welcome
Wonderful sea views all year round. Great staff. Yummy food! Dog friendly in bar area and garden.
Always good and didn’t disappoint.
Would recommend to anyone who wants above average in quality, service and ambience whilst dining.
Beautiful location with really good food.
Friendly helpful staff.
What more do you need
The staff was lovely, the food looked and tasted delicious and the portion size was very generous
Amazing location and great food. A very popular place so definitely need to book in advance
Lovely food, great views, good value, but so busy that the background noise was very intrusive
Good menu - plenty of choice, prompt friendly service and fabulous location.
Usually love lewinnick. Came for breakfast with friends. Coffee was warm at best. Waited ages for breakfast, table next to us who came in after us got theirs first. We asked when it would be ready. Once it came everyone was apologetic but again the food was only just warm. Felt like mine had been ready awhile ago but was sat waiting. Disappointment.
We have been here several times before and again this visit lived up to our expectations. Although the restaurant was busy the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and service was great. To top the evening off our waitress found out that we were there to celebrate a birthday so when serving the desert it came with candles, a nice touch.
Lovely setting with excellent waiting staff. Bar staff were a little slow and it wasn't busy. However food was fantastic, good choice and cooked to perfection.
Another excellent meal at The Lewinnick with good service, friendly staff and first class food. Thank you, we'll be back.
Asked for a jug of hot water to warm up bottle for baby, waited for 30mins and ended up going and getting as no one brought over; No apology from bar staff who were arrogant and obnoxious when asking for the water. Also long wait for food and drinks despite only having maybe 4 tables to cover. Shan’t be going again which is a shame as view is incredible.
The food and service were first class, fabulous selection of wines, beer and food. Glorious views too. Our waitress was excellent.
Only slight negative was the restaurant was a bit chilly. Please turn up the heating slightly. Thanks
Our lunch at the Lewinnick Lodge was much improved on my last visit several years ago. All the bar and waiting staff were pleasant, welcoming and professional. I had the prawn and salmon sourdough sandwich which was absolutely delicious and I would thoroughly recommend.
Excellent service. Food very good value and quality, cooked to perfection and well presented.
Excellent and would definitely return - in fact I have, often!
The food was well presented but of low standard 2 pieces of small cut of venison lots of grissle. The smoked haddock had no fish pieces only a sauce very bad for the high cost not happy
Lovely food and lovely staff, rather loud all girls birthday party going on, not your fault some of them shrieking full volume.
Lovely dinner, beautiful setting and great service. Only came for dinner but would love to come back and stay in the lodge, too.
Absolutely stunning location, fabulous food and excellent service. Can highly recommend.
We had a lovely meal, which we all enjoyed. The service was a little slow, considering the restaurant was not that full. (Only7 tables occupied)
We’ve eaten here many times before and will do so again!
Delicious mussels, fresh hake and tasty puddings made for a great lunchtime visit
Had the best time room was clean view was amazing ,friendly service,we were not rushed out,the food was outstanding, view in the restaurant was lovely so relaxing, bar was lovely staff very helpful, nice cosy atmosphere, lot’s of family we’ll behaved children and pet’s,front of house was lovely, all in all would highly recommend a stay ,can’t wait to return, was a perfect gift for our children from Christmas, lovely walks with great view’s .
Beautiful location, been coming regularly for last 15yrs, it used to have a more upmarket restaurant (hubby tried frogs legs here in 2008) but restaurant now serves more pub grub, but with high prices of upmarket restaurant.
