The Lewinnick Lodge
Nestled atop the cliffs of Pentire Headland, with stunning views across the mighty Atlantic & beyond, the Lewinnick Lodge offers a spectacular dining experience.
"The lodge' is open for breakfast at 9am and serves throughout the day until 10pm (10.30pm in the summer). Our ethos is simple, fresh seasonal produce prepared on the premises, using the very best the Cornish larder has to offer. We aim to cater for all tastes on our regular menus but if you are a lover of fresh fish & seafood then our twice daily changing specials will have you coming back time and again.
Other facilities include, large sun terrace, beer garden, open fireplace, large public bar with pool table/live sport. We are also dog friendly in the bar area.
Excellent food, in presentation and taste, as always, a really good venue. If only the service was better.
I must admit I’ve always found the lodge a bit hit and miss but this was probably the best experience I’ve had there, couldn’t fault any of it, long may it last, well done everyone chefs waiters and bar staff 10/10 👍🏻
We’re regulars and we go back time and time again as they always provide fab food and ace staff look after you.
Our fave place 👍
Brilliant, next time will stay in the lodge aswell
visited for lunch on my wifes birthday had a window table with amazing views; service was excellent and the food oh the food was perfect to our liking and 3 courses for £17;50 ; Definitely recommend a visit
Great place to eat with a varied menu and daily specials. The steaks are exceptional Service is prompt and friendly. Recommended
An excellent evening with food that everyone enjoyed credit to you all and the price was very reasonable
Steak night was great! Service good and all in all a great evening!
Waitress Laura was a treat too
Consistently our fave eating place. Never fails. Food, ambience, service, setting - all 5 Star!!
We very much enjoyed our Sunday lunch the staff were attentive but not overbearing we did not feel rushed our food arrived in good time and was excellent a stunning location we will return and recommend Lewinnick lodge to our friends.
Maybe an age thing, but noise levels too high for our comfort, particularly with loud large group nearby. Would probably stopped to have Dessert Course and coffee had it not been so noisy.
Our favourite escape in the UK. Always relaxing, amazing views and great food
The menu looked amazing online and the venue is beautiful so we were excited to come.
The choice of mains is brilliant but not many starters or desserts that anyone of us liked the look of. Unfortunately, the food that arrived was pretty underwhelming considering the price - the seafood linguine and lamb shank in particular didn’t meet expectations. Both fairly bland and didn’t look good on the plate.
They didn’t have any cream for hot chocolate.
The music system being played had some sort of technical fault and was making awful computer sounds loudly and repeatedly which wasn’t sorted by the staff. The staff weren’t that warm and friendly although not rude.
We were a group of 7 who came for a 40th birthday party and just didn’t feel like it was a special evening.
Food was great. Starter menu wasn’t very appealing, hard pushed to find something we fancied, specials were thai pea soup? Crispy chilli pork?! Caesar salad?? But the main courses were exceptional. The belly pork and lamb shank were amazing! It was a little hot and noisy in the restaurant which was a little oppressive. Service was very good. Throughly enjoyed!
Food was lovely. Service great. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was it was a bit noisy
Great service, friendly waitress very helpful and great knowledge of the menu. This was our third family trip to Lewinnick Lodge with young children it’s great for all ages.
Good quality food and attentive service
It is our favourite place when in Newquay. Lovely setting, sound and decor. Food is gorgeous and staff are excellent.
Staying in room one at the hotel for our honeymoon which is superb and beautiful room.
We had a fantastic meal... couldn’t fault anything at all.... Food was superb....
Food was awful ...service excellent.
Veg curry was tasteless
Fish very small
Starters a bit weird.
Fab location and food a few years ago was excellent but hasn’t been good for a while now though keep trying !!
Was a lovely evening, food was great although we had to wait a while for food, table at 6 left there at 8.20 wasn’t overly busy either, will go again just to see if this was a one off as food was amazing 😉
Excellent meal , great cheerful service and a smashing view only downside parking can be a nightmare due to the popular location.
The actual breakfast was a disappointment warm bacon cooked but in atractive sausages, cold toast and frozen butter. Main negative comment is your filter coffee first cup arrived lukewarm, I sent it back to quote one of your waiters “sorry we are always getting complaints” a coffee came back explaining I have given you an americano at the same price, I do not like americano! to answer your probably thinking , this was a family celebration I did not want to sour it by complaining.
We have visited Lewinnick Lodge many times in the summer and always love the amazing views, but it was great to visit on an autumn evening as well - lovely cosy atmosphere, food as delicious as always, service friendly and welcoming. Everything is done with care and attention and it’s such great quality.
SUPERB gorgeous Sunday lunch food amazing service fab
Always happy to come here for a Sunday roast, food is always top quality and the staff are very polite, friendly, and don't seem to be robots. Very reasonable prices. If you are looking for a nice Sunday roast with a great view on a (rare) clear sky day look no further.
Last minute booking for lunch. Was seating in the window with lovely view over the water and good views of Newquay and crantock. Staff were friendly, helpful and service was great. Food was pleasant and served within good time. Would definitely recommend to those that want a simple cream tea, small bite to eat or even a lovely filling meal as we did.
Very nice meal from start to finish, our waitress was very efficient. Would absolutely book a table again.
The food here is exceptional. The roast lunch on a sunday second to none. Enormous Yorkshire puddings and the dessert menu, wow
Lovely restaurant with breathtaking views. Really needs to be visited in daylight hours to fully appreciate.
Excellent service and varied menus. One of our favourite places to take visiting friends.
Second visit this year and it takes us five hours to get to Cornwall, so that says something about the place! We love it here however, as we mentioned in the last review, although the food was amazing, the service was amazing and our waiter was fantastic, sadly as mentioned before; Lewinnick Lodge is due a facelift. The floors and furniture are tired and tatty and it is letting the whole place down. The noise level was difficult to cope with this year but maybe with more soft furnishings, this will help it to sound less like a canteen.
However!!! We would still come back! It’s gorgeous, but please take on board what we say as it would be sad to let things slide and customers will wonder if the bedrooms are as shabby as downstairs.
Only our opinion.
Hang on to your Chef(s) and the team though, as mentioned above; it was brilliant.
Delicious! Wonderful place! Fantastic view!
Lovely food with good choice. Really friendly staff only to happy to please. Great views and with really Happy memories. :)
Lovely, restaurant, food, atmosphere, staff...what more could you ask for.
Superb! Say no more!
Great food and lively conversation made for a great evening
Excellent food and service. Made one mistake with a drink order but that was quickly rectified.
Such a lovely evening, superb food, excellent choices for both vegans and vegetarians + delicious Bloody Mary!!! Definitely will be coming again.
Another nice meal (Sunday roast) at Lewinnick.
