The Lewinnick Lodge
Perched atop the cliffs of Pentire headland, with stunning views across the mighty Atlantic, Lewinnick Lodge offers a spectacular dining experience.
The Lodge is open for breakfast at 8am and serves food throughout the day until 10pm (10.30pm in the summer). The ethos is simple: fresh, seasonal produce prepared on the premises, using the very best the Cornish larder has to offer. We aim to cater for all tastes on our regular menus but if you are a lover of fresh fish & seafood then our specials will have you coming back time and again.
Other facilities include a large sun terrace, open fireplace, large public bar with pool table/live sport. We are also dog friendly in the bar area.
with Pesto & parmesan or Tomato & basil sauce topped with cheese
Vegan Cream Tea
scone, jam, honeycomb margarine, a pot of tea
Sticky Toffee Pudding
caramel sauce, soy vanilla ice cream
Great location and a really good meal with lots of choice for everyone.
This was the 2nd time back here in a few days. The restaurant and outside area are idyllic and the food and drink amazing. The staff serving are really friendly and attentive. The only downside I would say is there are a few members of staff who think they are above you, making you feel unwanted there. This was particularly a large gentleman who was initially at the desk inviting guests in and one younger person who was taking people to their tables. But please if you can ignore this, overall the experience was good.
Had a lovely meal at Lewinnick. View in a good day is second to none. All staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Would thoroughly recommend.
We went during the government eat out scheme so value was great, always enjoy the atmosphere here. Great views and food
Had a lovely meal here with my partner and everything tasted amazing
Food was excellent Very good service. Great Views.
The Lewinnick is my local, my favourite and never disappoints.
Even under these very trying circumstances, the Lewinnick delivers and should be applauded. Thank you to the delightful staff, for the excellent service and the oh so very good food.
A lovely experience, great food, felt happy and safe, all guidelines followed but didn’t detract from good atmosphere, would recommend.
Great food and good views.
You will need to book.
Great views. Good quality food and friendly service
Food was amazing! Service was excellent, friendly, helpful!
Great food in a beautiful coastal setting. We will be back next year! 😊
Efficient and friendly service. Good food seemed freshly prepared and high quality - all of us pleased with our choice. Calm, relaxed atmosphere.
Fabulous food and overall dining. Beautiful setting and staff very friendly .
Great food, friendly staff, good value with the Eat Out offer currently but would say can do more around COVID, customers being allowed to move tables prior to eating and not being cleaned before someone else sat down and staff standing very close as well. We would recommend the Fish and the Burger, felt like a treat!
Lovely Sunday lunch, a bit of a mix up with the Gluten free...but soon sorted by the helpful staff.
The amount of food was good but lacked a bit of taste. Had to add lots of salt and pepper to my roast and my beef was a bit tough. The lamb roast was tasty and the kids meals were good value and they loved their ice cream desert with the added fruit etc. It was a nice touch.
Not sure we were not told roast dinners were available. Not a good variety of choice. Waitress couldn't understand us or didn't want to . Air con was very high . This made the experience uncomfortable on many levels
Great service, Great food, stunning location!
Breakfast was fantastic as always but service was extremely slow. Around 20 mins wait just to take the order, followed by another 20mins wait for the drinks and a further 20 mins for the food to arrive. The table next to us also passed comment on the extremely slow service. Our order was taken very abruptly with no smile or warm welcome. Although busy on the day we went it must have been expected as virtually all tables were pre-booked.
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing location! Will come again
Excellent food and a lovely view, would definitely recommend
We arrived a little early but the hostess was great and got us seated quickly. The restaurant is well arranged and Covid-safe. Our waitress was great, very friendly (even succeeded in getting me a beautifully lean steak). Dessert (dark chocolate torte) was amazing.
All in all we had a lovely evening & will definitely be back.
Amazing delicious tasting food had to have all 3 courses as it was so tasty. Great service social distanced tables and open and airy
Wow! I booked this on a whim searching "restaurants with a view in newquay" and filtering vegetarian friendly. I saw the pictures but thought because it's a lodge/hotel, it would likely be similar to a billy bears or chain pub and the pictures potentially edited or the food substandard! I was so wrong!
This was honestly one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever eaten at. The cliff side views remind me of a tranquil beach club in Bali I visited years back, the 5pm sunset was stunning, even the drive up was breathtaking through the village heading toward the sea. The whole experience was wonderful. Glass balcony all around, floor to ceiling glass windows, I couldn't fault it
Despite coronavirus meaning one way systems and reduced capacity was in place, we certainly didn't feel affected. The restaurant layout was well balanced, your table was private, the general atmosphere was calm (other than 2 tables of toddlers kicking off but they were gone by 5.30, thank god!).
The food was wonderful. I also chose this place for it's decent veggie options. We had the feta and humous and bread and butter to start. My partner had the veggie sausage and mash and I had the fish and chips. We shared a sticky toffee pud to finish. We also had 1 alcoholic drink each. The total bill was under £60! We couldn't believe it. You'd usually pay for the view too!
This is a must visit place! We drove 6 hours each way for a long weekend and absolutely dropped on here, being the only place we'd booked for a meal out for the weekend, we couldn't have chosen better!
Thank you Lewinnick Lodge, we'll be back
Food was fabulous with lots of gluten free options. The view from the lodge is absolutely spectacular and the staff were all pleasant, friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our time at Lewinnick however it was very different to how it used to be. The food was good and the staff were lovely. Sadly at this point in time due to COVID the atmosphere is very different. This is definitely not the fault of Lewinnick.
Fantastic, despite COVID restrictions the atmosphere was great, the setting is fantastic and the food was delicious! Thanjs
Really nice place and good food. Would recommend.
Views spectacular, food was enjoyable ,
Service was lacking any genuine interest and toilets were poor.
The sun was in my husbands eyes and although he changed position we eventually had to ask to move tables .
They put someone else on the table and someone else had the son right in their face . No blind of any kind on the windows ..... it must happen every sunny day but obviously there’s no willingness to put the customers needs first . In my opinion this attitude comes from whoever is managing the venue as the staff’s attitude tends to emulate whoever is at the top. Shame because it’s got everything going for it except the small things that make somewhere special .
Have been there many times, bar and restaurant both have a beautiful sea view. Experience was ok - not memorable. Service slow, refunded drinks and appreciate the gesture but wouldn’t rush back.
The most amazing restaurant - we had a lovely lunch and experience!
We will definitely be back to visit again.
Great views and excellent food at a fair price. Can be slightly noisy because of the hard surfaces etc but will depend on who’s sitting near you. Overall highly recommend and suggest checking out sunset time to make the most of the views
Fab service, fab food, good guidelines in place for Covid. So happy with everything we went back following day for breakfast!
Great food with stunning views. A little bit pricey but worth it just the once on your break.
Great food great location and felt comfortable with covid measures in place. We have visited many times and will again.
Never fails to disappoint - lovely menu, delicious food, good for lunch and dinner, great setting and good service.
4 of us booked in for breakfast and everything was perfect
Going again next Thursday 😀
Thanks to the wonderful breakfast staff x
Fab location and good food but hosting was lacking . Asked for our order but hadn’t given us a menu and then kept us waiting when we were ready to order and then waited 45 minutes for food to arrive. No communication as to why the wait was so long .
No niceties ..... as if they felt they didn’t really have to try as the location was so good . Disappointed
I had to go up to the bar to request things on five different occasions as no one came over to our table.
I had to Ask to order, request salt and pepper, place another drink order, ask to order desserts, ask for the bill.
Although I’m a local and I know the venue and the food is very good I feel as though the portion sizing is very small for the attached price. I have raised this before in the past and been advised it must have been a one off but the portion sizes remain very small.
The burger recipe also appears to have changed? It used to be a delicious homemade Lewinnick burger which now appears to be a minced patty? It was not burger texture and was not nearly as nice as the original burger.
