The Liberty Tavern
First time visit to this restaurant and I would return again. It was a relatively quiet evening, not too busy in the upstairs area, yet in the beginning I felt we were rushed along. We only had the first course for about 5 minutes when the entrees showed up. That seemed too fast and I made a comment about it, but the server and the waiter were not the same people so you can't really fault the server for brining the food when it's ready to go; no, this was clearly the waiter not pacing the meal correctly. Suddenly the fire alarm started ringing. False alarm thankfully, but no one on the staff seemed even remotely concerned about it. I asked the waiter if everything was okay and he said yes, false alarm. Okay, on to the food. Everything was prepared well and had good flavor. I had the salad and my friend had the soup. Both were good. For entrees I had the hanger steak (excellent!) and my friend had a pasta dish, which she reported was good. No dessert, but I enjoyed the LT Margarita while my friend had wine. All in all the restaurant was busy on the ground floor for happy hour, but otherwise it was not too loud. I could see where it could be louder if the restaurant was really jumping. In the end the waiter let us linger as long as we wanted.
I haven’t been here for a few years and the menu has changed from American fare to Italian. I think it should be renamed if this menu change is permanent. I had pasta and it was not very good and was not a good value. I’m sorry to see this since you can actually hear yourself speak here.
Great wait staff and service. Salad was a bit limp / saturated with too much dressing.
The Liberty Tavern is a very friendly family restaurant. There were people/families/friends celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, etc....My friends and I were celebrating my birthday we went for Sunday Brunch. There was a variety of food to choose from on the brunch buffet something for everyone. Note: Make a reservation so you won't have to wait. The Tavern is two levels and they pack the patrons in every nook get friendly with your neighbor. Overall we had a great time in will go again.
Go very hungry. The brunch buffet will not disappoint! Big selection of great food, try to pace yourself.
Nice dining room upstairs with soft lighting and a nice selection of entrees and drinks from the menu.
Love this place! It never disappoints; the food, drink and staff were just amazing. Thank you LT!
Excellent Brunch! Perfect for family and friends gathering.
Our first time there. We'll go back for sure. Great service and food. We had the Sunday brunch buffet. Great value and selection
Delicious Sunday brunch buffet has all the standard fare plus delightful twists like breakfast pizza and mussels. Save room for dessert!
I had been there the number of times. So, I took my boyfriend there for the first time. He loved the meal. Workers are friendly and the restroom is cleaned. We will be back there AGAIN!
Absolutely delicious Sunday brunch. The quality and amount of food they offer on the buffet is a great value, especially for the area.
Great food and service, but the tables are too close to each other.
Delicious brunch, friendly service
Arrived 30 minutes early for reservation and was seated immediately. Saturday Brunch Buffet has plenty of choices, something for everyone. Sit upstairs if coming for the buffet.
Great Sunday brunch. Food was plentiful and tasty. Scrambled eggs were dry and my only negative comment. Our server William was fantastic. Staff was attentive even though the restaurant was packed. We will be back.
Went to brunch - a la carte menu was limited but what we selected was very good. Wine pours were generous. Service was actually excellent which always makes it! Fresh fast and friendly - would recommend
The staff was awesome! Our waiter recommended the roasted chicken and it was delicious. Well done and juicy. I admit I couldn’t put my knife and fork down. My friend had pasta and she loved it. Overall, great experience.
nice server, seated quickly, but server got several items wrong..(bread requested instead of fruit w/omlet but fruit brought), wrong water refill for my guest, no extra butter brought after initial amount used up, a "there you go," instead of a "thank you," when check was brought. Too laid-back service. More direct attention needed.
We can always count on a great dinner at Liberty Tavern. We were celebrating a birthday that night, and we brought in cupcakes for after dinner. They were very accommodating about this.
One of our favorite restaurants. Great service, outstanding, creative food but not silly or pretentious. Good to go early as it gets very busy!
My favourite go to neighborhood place, by far. Manager Arie Valdez has organized a well honed service team on top of an excellent menu that changes by seasonal offerings. Never fails for me, no matter what the occasion.
It was one of our favorite restaurants and it appears to have gone downhill.
The food was delicious and the service was friendly. The prices were reasonable for the neighborhood.
My husband and I always love the Liberty Tavern, and this visit was no exception. We benefited from their "Restaurant Week" special, which allowed us to chose 3 courses from the menu for $35. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable.
We dined here for restaurant week. I love that you can choose from the whole menu. The grilled octopus, Amish chicken, and cherry pie were all superb.
It was good. I enjoyed my food. The ice cream is delicious
Went for Sunday brunch, was decent. Not worth a trip but ok if you are in the area.
It was too hot and crowded! I recognize that you need to make money, but once you say a large Larry next Tom I was unable to get out of my seat to return to the buffet. Also i was under the impression that Liberty Tavern was participating in Restaurant Week for brunch. It should be made clear that you are not participating for brunch. I strongly suggest that you look into your air conditioning unit for upstairs. All in all, it was not a good experience.
I truly LOVED this place!!!! The food was amazing and the service was even better. I can tell it was family-owned by the flavor of the food lol!:) I loved the fact that they have a live dj on the weekends!!!!!!! I will totally be coming back and bringing my friends and family!....
We sat outside and, thus, the noise level was low. But inside it was high.
I was disappointed by the quality of the food. Left something to be desired for sure.
I normally love Liberty Tavern but it was so crowded for Restaurant Week, it removed some of the enjoyment. Very noisy with tables close together. Our server was wonderful but stretched in too many directions. We were relieved to walk out.
Terrific upscale casual dining.
Normally a good meal but today the chef overdid the vinegar and pepper I left most of it over
Went for Restaurant Week. Wonderful choices. My companion and I enjoyed everything (tavern salad, lamb burger, and white pizza). The desserts were not your typical desserts (ice box brownies with ice cream and panda cotta). Excellent! Our server was outstanding
Good location for a Sunday Brunch. Buffet was well stocked for the one all-you-can-eat fan in our party.
The Tavern was perfect for our purposes -- a mini-family reunion that included an infant and a toddler. Staff were VERY accommodating and patient, seated us in a relatively secluded space so that our nursing mother could do her thing, and the food was enjoyed by all!
We had a great time with the outdoor seating! The food was really tasty and the service was great!
Fun place to go with my daughter and her friends. Wine selection was a good, all our food was on point.
