The Light House
We loved the red roses on the table and the fact that our table was away from the rest of the tables in the restaurant , as we were a large group .
Service was impeccable , very attentive and smiling kind ladies .
Replied to all our questions in the nicest way and accommodated the fact that we had an incident and stayed longer even if the restaurant was closing . We really appreciate the support .
Food wise , there was plenty of choice on the set menu and we were happy .
Excellent lunch. Only downsides were an absence of chips for our ribeyes, owing to equipment failure, and slightly overworked service crew; it seemed like they were shorthanded, although they did a good job.
A great restaurant. Lovely food, charming service and good value for money.
We will be back!
The menu was less enticing than it has been in the past. Steaks were great but cod was tepid.Starters were OK.We left feeling less wowed than in the past which is a great shame.
Always exceptional food and service. A wonderful local restaurant
A local treasure
went with my wife and 2 adult sons for my wife's birthday.Warm surroundings, friendly staff, excellent food...exceeding my expectations so very happy and would recommend it.
Interesting menu with unusual combinations. Lots of choice. Delicious, freshly cooked food. Friendly efficient service.
Always a warm welcome, lovely friendly atmosphere . The staff are lovely.
The only negative comment would be that the plates could be hotter , therefore keeping the food less look warm.
However apart from that the quality very good
In the past we have found the LIght House to be slightly hit and miss, but on this occasion it was spot on. Thoroughly enjoyed the food (two orders of the scallops followed by pheasant and duck) with a good selection of wines by the glass. Courteous service as always.
Fantastic quality food at very reasonable prices. They also cater to kids very well. I'd thoroughly recommend it and this is our 3rd visit.
Lovely little place. Have been there twice for my birthday. Staff seemed a bit hetic to start off (different staff asking for drinks when we ordered, food bills twice) but overall good atmosphere and lovely food
Arguably our best New Year’s Eve dining experience here. More shocked on the menu ( and lower price ) and the usual smiley but courteous service. Only another 364 days to wait.
The food was outstanding!!!
Will definitely be back!
Lovely food for our Sunday family lunch - plenty of choice for everyone on the set menu, the cod with colcannon was outstanding. Service could be more professional - staff were nice but not really familiar with the food, and a beer had to be ordered several times.
A regular haunt of ours when we fancy a treat locally. Food always very good & my allergies are well- handled.
One or two dishes had small portion sizes.otherwise all was good
Delicious Christmas Eve lunch. Simple menu with plenty of choice. Good service. A lovely way to spend a Christmas Eve with friends.
Have visited the lighthouse many times and on this occasion it really disappointed. Food not seasoned and uninspiring. Expect a lot better for the price. Very disappointed
Lovely restaurant, delicious food but high service charge which we are not sure gets to the staff.
Lovely birthday lunch with my friends. Everything was spot on
The restaurant was nicely decorated for xmas and the server and host were very friendly. The food was delicious, we had the pate, scallops and goats cheese salad as starters and the venison, cod and lamb as mains. Really good menu options. Would go again.
Excellent friendly lovely restaurant in Wimbledon Village. The place was popular and had a lovely ambience. The staff went out of their way to give us a lovely table and the service we received was excellent. We had expected the set menu which is excellent value. However as Christmas we were offered a la Carter . The choice of food is very good and the taste delicious. Highly recommend and we will return . Thank you .
Absolutely charming restaurant and staff incredibly helpful.
Great food, execellent service and ambience as usual
Fantastic food and lovely staff, couldn’t ask for more! Will definitely be back.
We're so lucky to have such a diverse range of quality local restaurants in Wimbledon and the Light House is amongst our favourites. Our last visit co-incided with Jazz Night which added to the ambience. Food, wine and service were all up to their usual high standard.
Fabulous pheasant risotto. sea bass was hot and crispy. Very tasty. Fellow guests were also very happy with their meals.
Wonderful food and service
Lighthouse has a nice ambience, friendly staff , quiet for talking and reliably good food. Makes a nice evening out.
Excellent lunch at the Light House to celebrate my Mum’s birthday. Our waitress was lovely, service all round was great, food was very good with high quality ingredients and good portion sizes. One of our favourite places for lunch!
7 of us for midweek lunch. We moved from the window to take 2 tables alongside the wall. Privacy was adequate.
Clean and tidy restaurant with a bright and modern feel.
Excellent friendly waitresses taking orders quickly. Most of us had 3 courses all very tasty. Brought our own wine but corkage is reasonable. Bill of £30 per head was good value. We stayed and had coffee and all agreed we had been well looked after.
We got here lots and it's a fantastic local restaurant. I keep forgetting that the fish dishes are always fantastic, but not this time. Seared salmon rolled in nori with wasabi cream and pickled vegetables for starter, then super crispy-skinned sea bass with creamy/buttery pureed cauliflower for main course. So good!
The food was excellent, everything was cooked perfectly. The menu is small but has sophisticated as well as simple dishes.
Delicious food. And very good and friendly staff. Tables well spaced out. A very pleasurable weekend lunch.
Reception, service, environment, food, drink and dessert.
Thanks for the excellent service.
Great food as always and really enjoyed the music and ambience at the jazz evening.
I have given 4s for everything because it’s too easy to put 5 for everything. I always think the acid test is whether you would go back ( given how many good restaurants there are in London). I definitely would. The second is whether you would recommend it to friends and family- again I would. Very pleasant experience overall. Go!
Always a pleasant event going back to The Light House. The food was good and well presented, the service attentive as usual; having taking advantage of the Friday night Special Menu it was good value for money too. The restaurant wasn't too busy so the noise level was acceptable, unlike other times. In summary all good!
