Would have been 5 stars across the board except for the fact that another table had 8 people + child when the limit is set at 6 people max at the moment. They were some distance way so I felt safe enough but they were in contravention of the C19 ruling
Lovely location, a haven in a busy city. Very nice, very Intimate, excellent food.
Restaurant was very nice and clean. Staff what served us was nice and helpful. Food was excellent 👌 extra bonus for live music.
The service was professional and friendly . The server was confident and helpful. My menu choice not only looked delicious it tasted delicious.
Lovely meal, service and staff were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back again
This was a delightful surprise, I live close by and happened upon it by chance. Lovely setting, lots of outdoor seating, wonderful food and impeccable service. On top of that, they have continued with the help out to eat out thing, so we got a bargain too!! Can’t wait to go back!
I attended the Lock & Quay with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. The staff there were all wonderful and took great care of us, including making recommendations and ensuring we were always looked after. The food was very good (we ended up having 3 courses). And an added bonus which we didn't know about before we went was that they are still doing eat out to help out, funding this themselves. I will definitely be visiting again and recommending this restaurant to my friends.
Very nice meal staff lovely and friendly and the cleaning is spot on
Food was excellent and service has really improved.
Only negative comment staff not wearing visors. or masks which they were previously.
It was absolutely lovely. Thank you
Absolutely delicious food. I would definitely be visiting again. All of us enjoyed every mouthful.
Felt really covid safe and the food was great
Food was nice! Service a little slow but they explained. Waiters should wait to clean the table when everyone has finished eating. Overall good experience. I would go back.
Friendly, efficient staff who were very helpful. Great views whilst eating - would definitely recommend.
Decent food and a nice ambience even on a rainy day.
Well worth a look but get there early as it can get busy.
Good value for money, nice area as well, would recommend
Awful service - went here on the Eat out to Help out thing and found the staff completely overwhelmed and unable to cope. They told us to use their app to order food and didn’t tell us what to choose on the Eat out scheme and therefore charged us full price for a shoddy service

Great food, staff were fantastic throughout!
Many thanks for your reviews! hope to see you soon
My wife and I both had the fillet steak and hand cut chips. My steak was cooked perfectly and the blue cheese sauce was amazing. Service was excellent. The restaurant is taking all COVID19 precautions so we felt very relaxed and reassured. Highly recommended.
Friday lunch at the Lock & Quay was excellent! It was the first time I went back since the lockdown and with new measures in place, I felt that the environment was safe and pleasant, safety measures followed and the lovely welcome as usual by Denise.
We tried the new summer salad (salmon, crab & prawns with pineapple salsa), delicious!
As the weather was nice, we sat outside and very much enjoyed our lunch. We will definitely be back!
Great place off the beaten track but with great food and great service. Will definitely be back!
Outside on a good day although there is no table service outside. But we sat inside and the service was amazing. Food portions are very large. I had the lamb roast and my girlfriend had the duck and it was plenty. We did need to ask for more bread for the camembert.
Lovely setting friendly staff and good food ideal place to sit and relax with friends or family really enjoyed the experience and would go again
We went on a lovely summers day and they had a great band playing which made it all even nicer. They were understaffed but the staff were hustling and doing their best which we really appreciated. The food wasn’t amazing but when I sent my roast beef back because it was over cooked it wasn’t a problem for them. For some reason though I just think a place like that could really serve amazing food and that just didn’t seem to be the case for the price they were charging. We will most definitely visit again but more for the ambience than a gastronomic experience.
While the food was good, and the surrounds unique, it wasn't what I had hoped. On Sunday morning, I did a search for places that served afternoon tea on the western side of the London metro area. I wanted to go to afternoon tea on Sunday afternoon. I chose the Lock and Quay because of all available information on Open Table.
However, when I arrived at the Lock and Quay for my scheduled afternoon tea, and when I was finally helped, a member of the staff informed me that the Lock and Quay doesn't do afternoon tea on Sunday, and only does afternoon tea if the reservation is made at least a day in advance - neither of these things were articulated when I made my reservations. So, not sure where the problem lies - Open Table or Lock and Quay. Either way, no afternoon tea for me on my last day in the UK. I passed that disconnect on to the team there.
I did, however, like what I saw of the restaurant and surrounding area, so I decided to stay and eat from the regular menu. The food was good, and there was live music, so that was unexpected plus.
Hi Elizabeth Many thanks for your review, Im so sorry that we was not able to supply afternoon tea last Sunday. I have written to open table as im still unsure as where this has been advertised .. Im pleased though that you stayed and enjoyed your fish & chips. Hope to see you again on your next visit to the UK Kind Regards Denise
we went on a Thursday lunchtime, weather was lovely so we ate outside
Professional staff, excellent service, great food. Reserved a table outside, to celebrate my friends birthday and brought our 2 dogs (hence the outdoor reservation). The staff could not do enough for us, and made our visit throughly enjoyable. I organised a cake, and they played Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder over the tannoy. I could not have asked for more. Highly recommend this restaurant, especially to hire for a special occasion.
I booked this as i was visiting London with my daughter and grand daughter and it was close to our hotel. Luckily I used my sat nav as it was quite difficult to find but worth it as it was a lovely quiet location by the river. It was a really hot day so chose to eat outside as the restaurant inside was really hot and stuffy. There was a singer playing which made the ambience really nice. As it was so hot we chose a sharing platter plus a prawn cocktail
which was really nice although the waitress had to get another as she dropped the first one. The young staff were really nice and chatty but can’t say the same for the lady serving at the bar she just didn’t seem that friendly. Overall a lovely location bit of an oasis although drinks were expensive. Would go again.
Hi Denise6 Many thanks for your review, so pleased to hear you enjoyed your lunch outside at the weekend. Thank you for bringing to my attention the bar person issue.... which i will action accordingly . Hope to see you again soon Kind Regards Denise
A lovely peaceful location beside the canal.
Good food and service.
Excellent service, food & atmosphere. Also good value for money.
Hi Angela Many thanks for your review , much appreciated . hope to see you soon Kind Regards Denise
We found the food very well cooked and the service was excellent and it is set in a very pleasant and peaceful location. We shall certainly be returning for further visits.
Disappointed that when we arrived at 7 pm, our server agreed that we could enjoy happy hour half-price cocktails only to be told when the bill was printed at the end of the evening, that we had been charged in full due to us arriving 2 minutes after 7 pm. Not impressed!
Food was excellent but very slow delivery.
Food was ok. Steak was over cooked. Too expensive based on quality of the food.
A peaceful and picturesque dining spot with plenty of outside seating. The staff were friendly.
Enjoyed both our meals and the "tapas" for starters. Probably 5 miles from the airport, but in the middle of nowhere.
i have visited this restaurant ,on at least 5 occasions now
The drinks are a little pricey , but the food is fantastic
The service is always excellent , the staff are very friendly and attentive
will be going back
The food was overpriced . They brought the wrong wine over. Whilst waiting for the table I ordered drinks to have whilst waiting - the bar staff insisted we order them when we get on the table. They took the order finally and the drinks took too long! The food was overpriced for the portion .
Food was really good but service was very poor considering there was 3 tables occupied including us They made mistake with drinks order and still added cost to bill ??
