Lovely neighborhood tavern with exceptional food, interesting and varied menu, and wonderful location near the Royal Crescent and Royal Victoria Park. Service was warm and friendly, befitting a local restaurant with elevated food and spirits. While this is on the fringe of where most tourists venture, it’s a worthwhile stroll in one of the most beautiful parts of Bath.

Had Sunday lunch. Wow. One of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a restaurant anywhere. The quality of the food was excellent and the selection of vegetables was great. Just to top it off the Eton Mess was wonderful. I can not recommend enough.

We were very impressed with the imaginative food at this gastropub. The appetizer, entrees and dessert were so fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. It was a joy to eat here and staff was friendly and attentive. The chocolate brownie was beautiful and one of the best we have ever had.

It was very noisy and despite booking in advance they did not prepare the table. We were sat between the toilet, the door to go outside a s another entry. We left as soon as we had our meal.

The food was good, it was not crowded, but the service was extremely poor in terms of timing and response. The service charge of Just over £15 was totally excessive for the quality of service we received. I am afraid the only thing g I can do is vote by my feet. Won’t be back. Brian Carpenter

We have been to The Marlborough Tavern on numerous occasions and, as always, we can't fault it! It is still the best place for a Sunday roast and ideal for lunch and dinner any other day. We will definitely continue to return.

I cannot fault the service and attention to us as customers. Granted there were only a few guests but we felt that we were treated very well and they were as accommodations as they could be. A little disappointed with the choice of dishes(only 5) but this could have been due to the fact it was a Saturday lunchtime. On saying that, the food that was served was delicious.

Excellent friendly service. The food was quick to come out and didn’t disappoint. The Roast pork was perfectly cooked with crisp crackling. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which was probably one of the best I’d ever had.

It was lovely for my meat-eating guests but really wish there had been a few more interesting vegan options. A curry and a burger are adequate but uninspiring. The staff was really good and sweet and the service and atmosphere was lovely. Just wouldn't go again with the menu as it is.

Nice place, close to the Crescent. Very good service, but it is recommended to reserve to have a good table. Traditional English food,. We had a good fish and ships, vegetarian curry and truffle fries. The only inconvenience is the level of noise, quite high, even though tables are rightly spaced.

In the past we have always praised you for great quality and price. Last evening I had fish & chips. £17.50. Very pricey, however, I know costs are increasing so I went with it. However, the quality was poor. Oven chips - yuk and although the haddock was nice when I got to it there was 3 times as much batter as fish. The staff were lovely and the service VG. Sadly I don’t think we will be coming back.

You are right, the price of fish has sky rocketed recently, so unfortunately we have had to increase the price slightly. However, this should not affect the quality. I can assure we do not use oven chip, as our chefs cut them by hand. Maybe on this occasion the fillet of fish was substandard, I will be sure to alert the kitchen to this. Fabulous and perfectly executed dishes made from the best fresh produce. I was also extremely impressed by the attention to detail in choices of side dishes such as breads, olives and butter. The service was delightful and super efficient. A delightful little place!

We were seated right away and waited awhile for any service at all. They seemed to b e short staffed with one person performing several duties at the same time. We both had burgers and fries which were juicy and tasty. We asked for ketchup and didn’t get any . Finally we flagged down another waitress who brought us some.

This is our first visit to Bath and Marlborough Tavern. Ambience was great, staff friendly. Food was delicious. I made the mistake of not looking at the menu before booking on a Sunday which was a Sunday Roast menu. The roast was delicious, great portion, everyone was pleased with their selection. Would definitely return next time in Bath!
