The Marlborough Tavern
Food is essentially, though not slavishly, English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. Its food reputation is matched by their service - always friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and there's an extensive wine list and selection of local ales to choose from. The Marlborough's pub garden is arguably Bath’s finest; a walled courtyard space, that’s perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

The food was really good, I had mushroom arancini (never had that before) and pagers & mash. My wife had a game terrine and a fish. All very good.
Lovely food, especially the lemon meringue posset, very good
Fantastic staff and a top-notch Sunday roast dinner!
Great pub and lunch venue, have been many times and they always do a great roast. Was a bit off par on this occasion however, perhaps it was the 5pm slot that was between lunch and dinner, but the food was a little cold and some of the veg over cooked.
We were seriously impressed by the quality of the pub.... best roast I've ever had!
Excellent sunday roast and great service, as always.
Excellent food in a great location. Highly recommend the ruby burger!
The Marlborough Tavern is always a great choice. Great food, service and atmosphere. Even Covid can’t spoil it!
Waiters took great care to be socially distant and were very friendly and polite. We had steak that was beautifully cooked then the chocolate bronie with salted caramel ice-cream absolutely delicious.
Very well cooked pub staples with nice service and sensible not overbearing safety measures.
Amazing food. Excellent attentive staff. Gorgeous cocktail. All this and dog friendly too.
Very pleasant very clean good service and dog friendly.
The food was very good indeed. Perhaps it was the social distancing but the pub didn't have a great atmosphere and my wife found it underheated.
Great menu, delicious food, good service and atmosphere. Would recommend
Excellent Sunday roasts, vegetarians well catered for.
Me and my partner came here after reading a handful of reviews online, and we were very excited. I think it’s safe to say that we were absolutely blown away by the superb meal we had. Everything was perfect and there are absolutely no complaints whatsoever
Roast was delicious and waiting staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely go back.
Amazing roast and sticky toffee pudding! Friendly service!
First time visiting, after reading the reviews.
Really nice location, the food is amazing with good service.
Great food and even greater staff! A great experience all round
Despite Covid restrictions we were made to feel v welcome at Marlborough Tavern. Cauliflower & courgette curry was delicious. Children enjoyed their fish & chips. Felt v looked after - great service & delicious food. Thank u
Good food, slightly overpriced. Table service was very good.
Great food and service as always .lovely calm atmosphere too . Recommend the fish dishes .
Very good flavours, excellent service. Still a good amount of atmosphere depsite restrictions. Covid-19 measurements very good.
Such a shame that really poor chips with my wife's fish & chips ruined her meal, the fish was great but the chips were rock hard and almost certainly oven cooked, my meal was really good so as i say a real shame. May seem picky but if you order fish and chips then chips are a key part of the meal and they were poor.
We did make the staff aware so not an after the event complaint, they did offer a free pudding but that wasn't the purpose of raising this so we declined that offer as not necessary.
A nice pub with good service and if they got this right I would recommend.
Good variety of gin based cocktails. Mixed review on food, I had Beef Teryaki, starter and Scalllop main which were both tasty and excellent. My husband had Wild Mushroom Arancini Balls, starter and the Hake main; he was very disappointed in both; no distinct flavour or appearance of Wild Mushrooms in starter and the Lobster Bisque that came with the Hake was not tasty enough! Did not get asked how the meal was until the mains was cleared away, was not our waitress and she immediately was sorry and compted dessert of our choosing.
However would return one more time and hope for a better experience.
Great Sunday lunch, one of the best we have had.
Welcoming staff who made a family birthday meal a special treat
Lively restaurant with excellent service and great food. Good choice of seafood and vegetarian options.
Wonderful as usual! We'll be back as soon as we can.
The Marlborough Tavern is a favourite but a little disappointed on this occasion. I had the pumpkin soup which was ok but tasted mainly of garlic. Also the bread was stone cold and ok it was sourdough, but I think it was from a packet of pre-sliced. At least it could have been warmed, or toasted even better! Being picky now, but the “butter” wasn't butter but one of those boring spreads from a plastic tub. Sorry, could do better!!
Excellent all-round and impressed with set-up for COVID
The food was first class and the portion size was perfect. There was some noise but not excessive and the ambiance was good I do not like to sit in silence in a restaurant so it was great.
Brilliant food - my wife had the scallops and I had the steak for our mains after a couple of delicious starters! All COVID-secure and a great find in Bath.
Disappointing experience. Very noisy pub, slow customer service and when main meals arrived only warm as best. Portion sizes small. Final point - coffee very average. Will not recommend or bother returning.
Greatfood, great service and covid guidelines well follwed
We had a lovely evening, everything was perfect. Food was delicious, service attentive and a lovely setting.
Service was outstanding . Fish and chips yummy. My only negative is menu choice but I think that is a lot about Covid and me not being a big burger lover which I know a lot of people are.
A lovely Friday lunch with friends, the food and service were very good.
Great food and atmosphere. Good veggie options and very accommodating staff
Menu was restricted. All Pub Grub.
OK but rather boring.
There are much better in Bath.
