The Masons Arms
A pretty beer garden at the back is perfect for al fresco dining in the warmer months and it has a thatched seating area with a heater and blankets for those chillier evenings. Due to covid we are only able to have 2 tables in this hut so please call if you would like to be inside the hut.
Surrounded by lovely Somerset countryside The Masons Arms is perfect for a quick pint or bite to eat, a full dining experience or a longer stay to explore the area. The welcome is always warm!

Lovely country pub. Very welcoming and dog friendly.
Lost one star as had to ask twice for second drink and coffee. The waitress appeared to have forgotten
Wow the food was amazing, I now understand why they offer a smaller portion (still ate it all though!) a real friendly old school pub, lovely to see friendly welcoming people and also see so many well behaved dogs around! Will absolutely be going back!
Met up with a friend of many years ago now residing in Canada, had a wonderful time, food delicious, good wine! Serving timing perfect!
Good service and setting. Menu choice and vegetable selection limited.
This is a typical country pub,not modern but olde world. The food was homecooked and outstanding the portions were huge.A very enjoyable Sunday lunch for my husband and I.
We know the Mason's Arms well. It is one of our favourite local pubs for dining out. The ambience is lovely, a traditional English pub, with furniture, oak beams and decor that is welcoming and mellow. The food is always extremely good and value for money though the helpings can sometimes be on the over-generous side. We
can confidently recommend the Mason's Arms for a lovely relaxing dining experience.
Roast dinner was amazing and the portion very large! The brandy parfait was so refreshingly good, best pudding all Xmas! Well spaced and friendly staff. Great, can’t wait to visit again thank you! Lovely views at back too, great place to stay am sure!
A quiet gem of a country pub/ restaurant.
Ambience was convivial, food was excellent, especially the Tagliatelle and the service quick, friendly but unhurried.
Will book again
New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve dinner; the staff were fantastic; great food, great campsite: thank you!
Sadly no longer the food or service we've always had over 20 years with the previous owners. Shame as it's our local!
We switched to Takeaway due to COVID concerns and it was fabulous!
Fantastic food at a great price. Will certainly visit again.
Lovely pub, food was quick and delicious and the service was great.
Two of us had good meals. Mine was very dry and not how it was described on the menu. Service was very good and when I mentioned the poor meal they didn’t charge for desert.
Great location to meet up with friends, in our case travelling back to Kent from Devon, who could stop for a nice lunch with us en route.
Excellent food & service would definitely recommend
Very disappointed. Sub standard food which was over cooked and cold. Won’t be recommending the masons arms
Sunday roast was delicious, plenty of it. Staff were attentive but not overbearing.
Great value for money. The chicken chasseur (from the specials menu) was tasty and hot in temperature ( not sure however it works well in the black bowel in which it was served. The tagliatelle however was found to be rather tepid and bland. The chocolate and seseme desert was awesome, although personally, we're glad we opted for +vanilla ice cream, which prevents a seseme overload! The brittle was a bit sticky! Excellent wine. Superb value for money overall. Wish the table candles had been lit, or removed!😏
Wonderful choice. Vegan choice good. Quality of food great.
Lovely pub full of character. Not our first visit and it was great to be back.
Great food and lovely service. Pudding was amazing
Amazing as always
Lovely welcome, food was delicious, service spot on and good value for money.
Rigby my dog was also made welcome with tummy rubs and doggie biscuits
Had roast dinners followed by ice cream. Amazing food and friendly service as always. Will be back again :)
Fish and chips overdone but edible. Forgot my veg, had to ask for it. No one asked us if we needed drinks when delivering food when both had empty glasses. Waiter stood outside kitchen texting on phone when tables needed clearing.
We had a late roast lunch on Sunday. Food was lovely, staff very friendly. Lovely atmosphere
We stayed at the campsite and it was really lovely. The landlady was very welcoming and helpful. We had a lovely meal and some drinks in the pub and the service and food were fab. Thank you for a great stay would definitely recommend 🤗
We both had The Mason Burger and a Pint which was very tasty and refreshing. Would definitely recommend, but is slightly expensive but worth it..
Very pleasant evening, staff very efficient and friendly with it. Menu a little limited, but quite understandable in the current COVID/Brexit world, but standard of food excellent.
Dreadful food overcooked did not complain because with friends apologised to friends
Room excellent. Breakfast disappointing. Dinner ok
Excellent food, good value for money, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!
I can honestly say this was one of the very best places I have stayed and eaten in. Friendly, warm and very comfortable. My dog Gracie was made such a fuss of, which of course she fully deserved!!
Food was very good, we had delicious nachos for a starter, and 2 types of burger for a main.
Only minus point was the cost of beer. It was £6.50 for Birra Morretti and around £5 for Amstel.
So overall 4/5, well worth going just order a coke or something if you don't want to get stung with drinks bill.
Fab food lovely atmosphere. Staff very attentive.
Welcoming atmosphere, perfect for 4 paws and two legs, good range of beers, fairly priced wine list, interesting menu, food well cooked, nicely presented with decent portions.
Delicious breakfast of fluffy pancakes, bacon and maple syrup.
Friendly staff who seemed eager to please.
A very good little pub. What it does it does well. Attentive staff and the food was as it said on the menu all served on time hot and presentable. If you want decent pub grub done well with great well kept beer then this is the place. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars for the service is because the waitress forgot some of our order but maybe she was new! However she made up for it in her apology and how she dealt with it. Overall I plan to visit this little gem again and I have no doubt that the continuity of standards will remain both in the food and service. A very enjoyable night thank you all.
