The Mayfair Chippy
Fish & Chips is the specialty, but we also serve traditional classic British dishes such as our famous Shepherd’s Pie and Steak & Kidney Pudding. To complement the fabulous food, we also offer a selection of world wines and retro cocktails.
Located in the heart of Mayfair our independent restaurant boasts 1 AA Rosette, we are also proud to appear in the Michelin Guide 2016.
We are open 7 days a week for Lunch and Dinner, with the addition of our new Weekend Brunch menu, not only can you stay, you can also take away.
So good! I am not usually a fish and chips person but I was craving it for some reason . My friend ordered the classic vegan and I ordered the classic gluten free cod and chips ....amazing!! A bit pricey but worth it and very large portion. Tartar sauce was so good that I forgot to even try the other sauces! Thank you for not forgetting about us gluten free people :)
Great food and lovely decor. Make a reservation. To avoid waiting!
Great fish and chips and shepherds pie!
The Mayfair Chippy is an absolute Institution when it comes to fish and chips - both the Mayfair Classic and simply cod with chips were outstanding, as was Fentimans Victorian Lemonade… all rounded up by the super-friendly and very attentive service of Stalica. We will come back !
The Mayfair restaurant seems small but has space inside. It looks cool too, modern but not too stylish. I visited several Fish&Chips restaurants in London over the years but most now serve very bland fish and chips. Here the fish has taste as the fries are great too!
Food was good and some of them run out fast. Better make reservations in advance.
I love bringing friends here where they visit London. One of the best Fish and Chips in town. Plus, the service rocks!
A must do for fish & chips!
SO DELICIOUS! We all got the Mayfair fish and chips with cod, it was amazing!!
Was good, ambience was lacking slightly but overall was a good experience.
Godo food, good ambience in lovely May Fair. The best fish and chips in London😊
Good place, crowded and Tiny, but tasty. Good place for fish and chips
A super top fish and chips, the team of the restaurant was very friendly
The food was good, a bit expensive for fried fish... The service was not very attentive. Too many tourists? One table after the other... a bit like on an assembly line ?.... After the meal I asked for a fresh mint tea that never arrived. We were tired, we paid (after having checked the tea was not on the bill) and left.
My friend n I really enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. The staff were friendly and we loved the restaurant.
We had the salt n pepper squid starter which was excellent, the best we ever tasted.
The fish was very tasty too. It was fresh and well done. We will probably have to go back again for the grilled fish. Overall it was a very enjoyable dinner
Excellent place, very tasty food
Usual excellent cod and chips from The Mayfair Chippy!
The food was a let down and the service was very bad
Loved the food
Fish was over fried until the batter was burnt and hard. Quality was not was I had expected for the price and upscale ambience.
The food was scrumptious, we had to sit very close to the other tables. The service started off super but as they got progressively busier we were forgotten about.
The Mayfair Chippy is one of my go-to restaurants when I’m in London, specifically for fish and chips. It routinely gets a Michelin Guide mention...for good reason...the food is excellent. The service is very friendly. Best to get a reservation since it’s a popular place.
We must have been here at least 10 - 15 times and every time it's fantastic - the fish and chips are unbeatable and the service is always outstanding !!
Freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung. Gemütliches Ambiente
The food was lovely, well presented and hot, it's a good old fashioned fish and chips restaurant.
The photos on the website must be few years old as it's looking a little worn but dont let that put you off.
The service charge was a bit frustrating but I would of left a tip anyway but watch out you dont get caught out and tip twice.
Make sure you book we seen a number of people turned away because they were full.
We had such a wonderful lunch at the Mayfair chippy, we decided to go back the following day with some family and friends. The oysters were fantastic! So was the crab on toast, but I believe the overall winner was the Mayfair special, cooked and served to perfection with chips, mushy peas, curry sauce and tartare sauce! Delicious:)
Fantastic food and great service.
I arrived at 8.30 on Sunday evening, and was promptly shown to a seat less than 30cm from the entrance door! As this was a particularly busy restaurant, I had people standing in a line beside me for most of the evening.
Anyway, the staff were polite and friendly so this more than made up for the disappointment of my table location.
I ordered the black pudding fritters with apple sauce, which were superb. They were crispy on the outside and well cooked in the middle, and I would recommend them to anyone visiting this restaurant. My main course was fried haddock and chips. The chips were really good, however, the fish batter was a touch soggy when cutting it. The flavour of the actual fish was excellent.
All in all, I had an enjoyable meal in this exceptionally busy restaurant situated in the centre of this easily accessible street. Parking is limited due to the spaces being reserved for permit holders only. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys the good British dish of fish & chips.
The wine list should be better. And more choices to just take a glass
Had the best fish in chips🎉🥰
Delicious fish and chips plus extras, and good drinks. Such a comfy experience.
Delicious traditional fish and chips, with great starters. Good selection of traditional British classics and other less traditional but tasty items! Very good service. Busy and noisy at peak times with long queues, so plan and book ahead.
We ordered: Sourdough bread, fried squid, crab salad, Mayfair classic (Fish, Chips + all the trimmings)
Pros: The Fish and Chips is unsurprisingly excellent, and the option to have all three (tartare, mushy peas and curry sauce) leaves you spoilt for choice. The bread is also light and tasty.
Comments: The batter was a little too thick all round for my taste but this is just preference. In regards to the salad, scoops of crab are served with other thick sauces (avocado and apple?) with a small scattering of leaves. This made the dish too heavy as a whole, resembling more a selection of dips rather than a salad.
Discovered this place a couple of years ago and returned this week for another visit. The food is fantastic here. Stop by (with reservations!)... you will not regret.
delicious fish and chips with perfect curry sauce!
Fish and chips délicieux et très copieux. Restaurant très bien décoré. On s y sent très bien. S y rendre sans hésiter.
Amazing fish and chips! Polite and efficient service. Nothing short of lovely!
We LOVED it! Be sure to make a rezzie for a table
