The Mayfair Chippy
Fish & Chips is the specialty, but we also serve traditional classic British dishes such as our famous Shepherd’s Pie and Steak & Kidney Pudding. To complement the fabulous food, we also offer a selection of world wines and retro cocktails.
Located in the heart of Mayfair our independent restaurant boasts 1 AA Rosette, we are also proud to appear in the Michelin Guide 2016.
We are open 7 days a week for Lunch and Dinner, with the addition of our new Weekend Brunch menu, not only can you stay, you can also take away.
Great food, need a reservation to avoid not finding a table
Best Fish & Chips ever
Extra great service and attention
Friendly welcome, good food, efficient and attentive service. Great location too. Highly recommended.
Went on a Sunday evening. Very busy. Staff were as attentive as possible considering the number of customers.
For my part, I still think this is one of the best Fish and Chips location in London.
Fabulous service and outstanding food, the shrimp burger was spicy and wholesome and the crab loaded chips were superb. The staff were so lovely and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. I will recommend this chippy to everyone I meet for lunch or an evening meal in the area!
A beautiful, modern take on a traditional Chippy. The menu does not disappoint with all things fish and some interesting additions. The goat's cheese and tomato salad and the crispy fried prawns are a must!
The best fish n chips I had. Portions are huge but everything was very good. The only downside were the issue with the winefrige so it took a while before our wine was really cold. Extremely good value for money. Would recommend to anyone.
Great service, amazing food. No need to book a table.
Excellent. Couldn’t fault The Mayfair Chippy. Great fish and chips with accompaniments, excellent Sauvignon Blanc and great warm chocolate pudding and ice cream. We loved it all and we’ll be back. Thank you . J.
The service lacked as we needed to call the waitress several times for the same request. I would’ve also appreciated if the waiters informed me of other options / cooking preferences hence i found out about the options post dining. However the taste and quality of the food was great .
If you want the absolute best fish and chips in London you have to go here!!!!
Easy to book on OpenTable! The chips with truffle and cheese toppings were AMAZING.
Consistently good and affordable. Well positioned just off Oxford Street, very close to Selfridges and other shops, small and large
The main focus is obviously fish and chips but also with a little twist that makes it different to the larger restaurants that try to be all things to everybody. Well worth a visit
Loved it! Excellent fish & chips. The house pickles were delicious too!
Incredible all round, food is out of this world, staff friendly and professional! Would highly recommend!
Quality of the fish was excellent although batter lacking taste which lead to you over seasoning in order to make it enjoyable.
The fish and chips were delicious, delicate fish (skin off) with a light batter and chunky chips with just the right amount of crunch and softness. The crab on toast was one of the best I’ve eaten with a generous portion of crab that was not lost when eaten with the avocado cream. The soft shell crab burger was fantastic and I will be getting it again when I next go! It’s a lovely little restaurant that is very well priced considering it’s location in central London.
Very enjoyable experience with excellent food and great service - look forward to returning soon!
The staff & food were absolutely brilliant.
The inner room unfortunately, echos a bit & had a rather loud (but tolerable) group were dining at the same time as us.
But would I go there again? A resounding YES
Food excellent, meal ordered with the hp gravy which was meaty flavoured but to my taste. Fish cooked perfectly as were chips. Served in a fryer basket, nice idea but prefer a plate for easier consumption. We'll worth a visit.
Great experience and great food as usual. Professional staff, attentive and friendly. The food is amazing, especially the Fish & Chips of course. I’m not coming as often as I would but this makes every visit even more special. Absolutely recommended.
I have been to the Mayfair Chippy several times before and thoroughly enjoyed the food this visit was the first time my friend had been and we were both disappointed.
Our meal was served very quickly but the fish was wet and to be honest quite tasteless. On my previous visits the restaurant has been absolutely packed last night was the complete opposite. I know that everything is trying to recover from the COVID lockdowns but I’m not sure that I want to return or recommend again. Such a shame as it was one of my go to gluten free options when in London.
The staff and service was good
Excellent as always
Best fish and chips in London. Mushy peas too. Cooked beautifully and seasoned to perfection.
The staff were lovely and the food was delicious and arrived quickly
Best fish and chips in London without doubt. Great ambiance and staff were very nice
Great menu options, lovely staff who are very attentive, and excellent location and atmosphere!!
Excellent experience as always eating outside this time was fun
Great place that has to serve good honest grub owing to the surrounding competition. Great food.
Food was brilliant as well as the service! Would defo recommend
Very nice and welcoming staff. Tasty food and good seating area outside!
We have eaten before. We had the classic fish and chips and shared a black pudding starter. All delicious.
Lovely food and service, second visit in a month and will definitely return
Excellent food, freshly cooked, particularly the gluten free batter option. Quite possibly the best chippy in London, or at least definitely in Mayfair
Dinner was really very good; starters included crab salad and retro prawn cocktail. All fresh and tasty and served with delicious warmed soda bread.
Mains were haddock and chips and my wife had the grilled fish dish of the day, sea bream on this occasion. Food was served piping hot and my haddock was fresh and moorish. We also had a good value house rose to accompany our food. All in all a great meal with very attentive service. I would return again.
Food was really good! I would really reccomend the oysters and classic fish and chips - the quality of the meal was great and would definitely return, only complaint here was that the curry sauce was cold. The waiter was very nice - i didn’t catch his name but he was very courteous whereas the other lady wasn’t very attentive - she wasn’t rude but she didn’t seem focused on the customers so she came off as standoffish and didn’t offer to help with our plates when we moved tables so we were walking around the restaurant shifting our own plates and cups!
Great services - great food!
Hi it was first visit and we were very pleasantly surprised.
As a guy with northern roots fish and chips are important.
Well done Mayfair Chippy top marks for fish and chips!
We will be back !!
Best fish and chips ever. I first came across The Mayfair Chippy during lockdown and have since dined in at the restaurant - as we are allowed to do so now.
My boyfriend and I now dine here almost every other week. I recommend the Mayfair chippy special or the fish butty. They’re both delicious and the fish is crispy and perfectly battered.
Despite having Mayfair in the name, it is very reasonably priced too.
The Mayfair Chippy does offer delivery in partnership with Deliveroo.
