Gorgeous location, a friendly genuine smile and positive greeting from the bar staff, a limited but delicious menu offering options for all tastes and food preferences and reasonably priced. Highly recommend but be sure to book in advance!

Lovely village, pretty pub, mostly ok but really lacking in love and care. food ok but nothing special, no seasoning or real flavour. Had to go to bar to ask for wine list and order wine. Ignored after being given menus for some time. truthfully the cauliflower cheese should never have been served. Brown mush. had to ask for horseradish sauce with nice slices of roast beef. No sign of owners, guess it must be managed. travelled thirty miles to get here as reviews were good but would not return.

Lovely pub, great meal went for a walk beforehand by the river Windrush. Dog friendly so able to take our dog in the restaurant area, even had Doggy biscuits at the bar. Nice specialty gins, cosy fire meal really good although a little pricey, well recommended

The Maytime is set in a lovely village and is a very pleasant place to spend time. The building and garden are very well maintained and there is an air of quality about the whole place.

We had a traditional Sunday lunch which was very nice if a little expensive and eating in the garden was very pleasant. (There is an outside bar too).

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Maytime Inn, celebrating Mothering Sunday, where the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Our food was served in good time by their helpful staff, it was well cooked and tasted really nice, all at a fair price.

Really lovely Mothers Day lunch at the Maytime. The staff were friendly and the roast beef was excellent. Its in a really pretty location and the garden is nicely kept. Perfect for an afternoon drink in the sunshine. Highly recommended!

Only tiny issue was that it got really warm during the lunch rush, and we couldnt seem to open the windows.

Took the family for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. Service was great and the food was excellent. My son was so impressed he reckoned it was the best Sunday roast he’d had (apart from his mum’s of course!)
The gin selection is a bonus too.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience that we will definitely repeat

Our first experience at Maytime was very pleasant. The pink gin as recommended was very refreshing. Setting of the cafe was nice and cosy. Staff are attentive. We had Sunday roast, my hubby and I both had the pork loin and was tasty. We specially like the Rhubarb and Lemon pusse dessert. Will certainly revisit and recommend Maytime.

A pretty Cotswold inn in an attractive village. An unusually good Sunday lunch with for me a wine choice that could have been better. Perhaps it’s better to stay with beers and the large variety of gins. Must be a good summer choice with its large garden and views of the river. Very good. value overall.

Lovely pub and the food is great. The service was extremely slow though and there was really no excuse as it wasn't that busy. Unfortunately this often seems to be the case in these beautiful country pubs which is a real shame.

As much as we enjoyed the food the service overall was very poor. We had booked for a birthday treat but we're not made at all welcome on arrival. The waiting staff were friendly enough when they brought out the food but there was no other contact, we weren't even offered deserts etc., I also had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. It was not overly busy in the bar or restaurant!

Visited the Maytime Inn for Sunday Lunch.

On the plus side, the roast beef was excellent; good quality meat and vegetables, the pub is in an idyllic location and has a great atmosphere inside, and service was polite, friendly and efficient.

In terms of things that would have made things that extra special:

The first thing to note was that the service was almost too quick and too efficient. We felt a little hurried to be seated at our table when we were enjoying a birthday drink at the bar and we felt that this was unnecessary as the restaurant was not full.

In addition to this, our food was brought to our table virtually as soon as we sat down (we were asked to order at the bar). As a result, everything felt as if we were being served lunch at some kind of mass catering event where everything is brought out as quickly as possible. This is a bit of a shame because it doesn't actually do the quality of the cooking any service at all.

Finally, whilst the food was cooked very well and was very tasty, we felt that the gravy, which was already poured over our dinner, was almost too generous, resulting in the dinner being a bit "soupish". We would have preferred to have been given a gravy boat/jug where we could have served our selves.

Over all through - we would definitely visit again as the food and location were excellent...we just feel that things could be slowed down just a little so we could enjoy a more relaxed Sunday lunch.

This venue has quite a few new staff. They were very attentive but, at times, the attention was a little over the top. I think asking someone if everything is OK with their meal is what should be done - but on this occasion we asked several times whilst we were eating - which was a little too much. That being said, we have been here quite a few times - taking friends and family with us. The atmosphere is always lovely and the food cannot be faulted.
