Our family run restaurant is open daily serving lunch and dinner. Our menu specialises in quality local ingredients from our scotch beef sourced from master butcher John Gilmour to our fresh seafood from Bernard Corrigan's of Glasgow.

    Disappointing. Went for Sunday Roast and was told the Sunday Roast menu was replaced for Xmas - fair enough. Was given the options, and when I ordered, the option was unavailable. So, ultimately went for a third choice. We ordered the sausages and mash followed by some strawberry ice cream for our daughter, and the chateaubriand 500g with mac cheese, fries, mash, peppercorn sauce and some broccoli for my partner and I. The kid's sausages were really hard. You could tell they were good meat, nice and flavoursome and good texture, but arguably, they hadn't been cooked properly. The steak was unevenly cooked too. We asked for it medium rare, but on the outside it was closer to well done, and the centre was blue - this is a serious problem for anyone ordering a steak and sides that's costing £100 for two people. In hindsight I should have handed it back, but sometimes it is awkward to do so. The mash was dry, and although it was flavoursome enough, and I could tell there was butter through it from taste, the texture was very questionable and poor. The hand-cut chips were slightly undercooked and still quite hard in the middle - which was disappointing. The broccoli with chilli and garlic was good though, but it's probably the easiest dish on the plate with some garlic oil and chilli flakes added to the pan so, not worth celebrating. I had also noted it was my wee one's birthday when booking, and not a mention of it when we were there. I know that's not mandatory but when the food isn't all that great, you half expect the service to be a bit better. So, overall was quite let down by the whole experience.

    Shown to table. Drinks ordered. Questioned if we had booked as another group called Smith had arrived . I couldn't get booking up on my phone due to poor quality WiFi and waitress standing to attention while I tried several times. I eventually had to go outside in sub zero temperature to get confirmation up on my phone. I headed for the table we had been allocated to find my family heading towards me with coats etc as they had eventually found my booking and needed our table for the other smiths .We sat waiting for our drinks for 10mins at new table and eventually another waitress asked us if we would like to order a drink and we explained that we had already ordered 20/25 minutes before at previous table. Got drinks and ordered food. Food was fine except for granddaughters sweet which was a joke. Waiter had told us it was 2 scoops of ice cream so ordered a vanilla and chocolate and when it arrived in what looked like a butter dish it was one tiny scoop if chocolate that fitted on a desert spoon and our granddaughter was so disappointed. Bill paid and on gathering our coats etc my scarf was missing .A waitress at our first table had said we could put our coats on the chairs of a table that was joined onto ours but she would have to move the table later as a party of 9 was coming. I asked if we could put our coats somewhere else as we didn't want disturbed during our meal and she said I will take them just now so we gathered our belongings to give her and she changed her mind and said it would be quite a while before she had to take the table and chairs away so my scarf must have slipped onto the floor unnoticed. I feel not much effort was taken to find my scarf and the whole night was stressful and instead of having a lovely anniversary experience we left feeling angry. Will never set foot in mcmillans again. Disappointed and disgusted with mcmillans.

    We enjoyed our meal at Macmillan, delicious food and prompt service, nice chat from the staff and great Christmas decoration. Enjoyed cocktails after the meal also, loved all the extra touches. Would have preferred to be seated in the main area of the restaurant, felt a bit isolated off to the side, though didn't affect overall experience. Highly recommended!

    For a 'chop house' the £25 chop was dry and tasteless. Not even the charring marks gave it flavour. The compensation was that the accompanying veg was nice. This is the 2nd time here, the first a number of months ago I had the steak. I didn't review that time as I thought it might have been an off day, but that steak was also bland and tasteless. Back to this review, I will not return as my experiences of the food have been very disappointing. On a positive note, staff were excellent

    Another great meal at The McMillan, this venue is becoming a firm favourite when having family get togethers, so much so we are planning for our next visit already. Food was amazing - tasty & good size portions, surroundings lovely and staff very friendly & attentive. I'd highly recommend a visit.

    On arrival it appeared that there was no table for us despite booking a table weeks previously. We were not impressed with the table we were given and had to ask for the music to be turned down. The food was good but plated on massive plates which were fine if you were having the Sunday roast. However, the chicken looked lost on the plate. Service by our waitress was friendly but overall we felt the service from arrival to leaving could have been better. Perhaps our age group did not fit the vibe the restaurant wishes to promote which is why on arrival, the young man appeared to juggle his table plan and put us at the furthest away table at the back of the restaurant.

    We came for our 1st wedding anniversary and had an amazing night. Our server Holly was amazing! The only criticism that we have would be for other side options to be included in the chateaubriand deal instead of potato options - but other than this we had the best time thank you.

    Myself my wife and daughter went for a Sunday dinner as not been in a while tried their weekend menu 3 course for 28 pounds we had a lovey meal first time trying the weekend menu as normally eat from the main menu. Cannot fault great value for money defo go back for weeks. Menu again on a Sunday

    We came in for a roast. The roast itself was pretty good, although there should be a vegetarian option for the roast. My friend ordered fish and chips and the fish was good but the chips were terrible, very dehydrated and stale, like they'd been left under a lamp for ages. For the price, it was quite disappointing. The roast potatoes were the same, they could be so much better. The rest of the roast was nice though
