The Melody Restaurant at St Paul's Hotel
It was empty - we were the only customers. But the food was perfectly okay and the waitress very nice.
Faultless! Have had several visits to the Melody and love everything about it. The staff are warm and accommodating, food is delicious and the champagne is a big hit.
This was the first time my friend and I had eaten at The Melody Restaurant and we were celebrating her birthday. The room itself was charming, with a beautiful chandelier, a view outside to the gardens. We had the set three course menu and the food was very good. It was excellent value as was the wine. One of the nicest things was how quiet it was, compared with so many London restaurants. My only reservatiojn is that it was a 15 minute walk from both Barons Court and Hammersmith stations. We thoroughy enjoyed our evening, will definitely return.
We enjoyed the food but we lacked the accompanying service. Unfortunately the overall experience was not as desired and we felt the food was overshadowed by the lack of attention to simple things; like offering a wine list, interacting more than just stating the name of the dish or telling us about the fish of the day (once prompted). If the service improved we would certainly recommend The Melody to others.
Very nice food, great service and always keep distance and wearing mask. Had the 28.5 offer, very nice deal. Will come back.
Returned to this local restaurant to support local business. Food and service were good. Ambiance was dead just like pre-covid times. I would advise restaurant to put some music on, should probably said to manager then. The 3 course offer menu is basically the same as standard menu but limited to 3 main choice, and hadn't changed since pre-covid time. If choices were greater we would go back to support and have different things. At it stands we are not rushing back, despite the food and service were decent. I hope management would read this and improve as we would like to go back if food choices and ambience were not so dull.
Great service outside. Very hygienic. Perfect food as always
Very good Sunday Roast. Surprisingly good service given the current environment and would definitely go back here anytime.
Took a friend and her parents here for a birthday treat
Very overpriced for what very average food.
Beetroot starter was tiny!
Main course - steak n chips was ok - but for £22 I expect something wonderful!
Nice enough place - reasonable menu selections - but very overpriced for what a very average meal for four.
And beware - the whisky bar doesn’t stock ANYTHING Irish at all if that’s your preference.
LSE graduation dinner
I'm afraid on this occasion we were disappointed with our meal. The main course was tepid and the quality and taste was not at all as we have had for previous meals here. We ate a la carte and I am afraid we did not consider it good value for money. We have eaten here a few times and enjoyed it but I am afraid this was not a good experience
Superb food, attentive staff, nice ambiance. We will certainly return.
One of our favorite places to go when in London. Located at the St. Paul’s Hotel the meals are always good the chicken is excellent the fish is excellent the land is excellent would go back here any day of the week on this trip we went three times
Are here every day of our stay. Very nice. Wait staff is a little laxed but that’s ok when you’re taking your time to eat. Salmon starter is excellent! And the chicken with Avacado is my favorite! All the desserts are amazing!
Great service, quiet and relaxed
Upon arriving at the restaurant I was ‘greeted’ by my server. I told him my name and that my appointment was for 7pm he checked the booking reservation that had been recorded in their bookings book and angrily responded ‘6:30’ I said, sorry I did change the booking to 7pm on the website. He scoffed at me and then showed me to my table and said “this will do, for you”. It’s so sad that what was otherwise a lovely dinner with a good friend was massively let down by one servers bad attitude.
Good food, nice atmosphere.
Father’s Day lunch
Excellent location and beautifully presented table. The cocktail menu has a large variety as does their food menu.
The food was excellent especially the Sunday roasts. The desserts were stunningly presented and tasted phenomenal. Very impressed and will be coming back again.
It is the second time I book this restaurant. High quality of food and a friendly service. A menu which offers you enough choice but not too much. It is a guarantee of the use of fresh products. Nice meal and well presented. I recommend this restaurant !
Quiet high ceilinged elegance. Looks out on a lovely interior garden. The foie gras is to die for. The ceps risotto with truffle foam quite a revelation. Pork cheeks delicious.
Very good value for a London venue; we went to see a show and walked here afterwards. Lovely place to wind down, have a drink and a very good meal. Service was excellent and food beautifully served.
Very efficient staff, a lovely decor and a very peaceful but spacious environment, where diners weren’t on top of each other. Great presentation of the food which was delicious. I ordered the chestnut arancini which was tasty, but a little dry for my liking, but I am prone to liking “saucier” food. Presentation was creative too; as if I was eating from a vegetable garden! Then the duck journey which appeared to be a small portion...but as it was served on an enormous plate so turned out to be satisfyingly filling and mouth-wateringly tastebud tingling. A variety of wines that suited every taste and surprisingly not as overpriced as I would have expected. We were limited for time, in order to get to a concert, and the staff looked after this factor very well; not allowing it to affect our enjoyment of the menu options at all. I would visit again.
Spectacular as always!
Fantastic food. Generous portions for the mains. Fabulous desserts. Highly recommend the Egg Royal! The set menu seems strangely bad value compared to the A la Carte! Great atmosphere although we were sat next to a loudish table, conversation across the table was not difficult.
The resa via Opentable went well.
A warm welcome by the staff and a diverse menu.
Some of my guests where choosing the V platters.
The food was delicious.
The lobster ravioli, a surprise as meal, could have been warmer but this is probably a matter of taste. However it has a lovely taste
My guests where impressed by the venue and good food
Worthwile a visit
Really great service, or Hungarian waitress was amazing and so thoughtful as we had dinner with kids she made sure we were all comfortable and that made for a very enjoyable evening. Definitely worth another trip. The food was also great, seasonal ingredients and very unique dishes.
Lovely and well presented food. As the venue is part of a hotel slightly lacking in ambience but still worth serious consideration for a lovely night out.
Fantastic food, beautifully presented, big portions. Attentive staff. The only HUGE disadvantage is the damp in Ladies toilet - water dripping on the wall and plaster pealing.... with mould build up... very unsightly view. The hotel should fix the damp ASAP.
We've been here for lunch on weekends a few times and wanted to leave a review.
The restaurant is charming with a nice cosy dining room. The food is very good which was a surprise. The service is good but feels a bit amateurish and lacks finesse, there's something slightly off. Perhaps because the wait staff are quite young? The food is presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. It's also an excellent value for lunch for the set menu. One of the issues that we've had here a couple times was when booking with OpenTable the reservation doesn't always show up on their system since they don't have a digital system like most establishments. So you can't do a last minute booking.
Consistently good service here. I often eat lunch at the Melody and the staff are always great. It’s also good to see the same staff often. The recent menu change is also animprovement providing more variety. The BBQ is also a welcome addition
I am a regular user of opentable and far too many restaurants tempt you with their online menu but when you get there the menu is totally different from the online menu. This restaurant is the same.
This is an excellent restaurant. The lunch time menu is a bargain and the food is delightful. The service could not be bettered and the atmosphere is calm . The hotel is quaint .
The Melody restaurant was a lovely surprise. We used it as a pre Hammersmith Apollo gig dinner. Beautiful old hotel surroundings, attentive service and a good value special menu. Will definitely use again.
Booking system is very poor, accepted our booking but no tables available!
Great deal, beautiful setting and good service. Will definitely come again
Really enjoyed in food and ambience, will be back :)
Slow service and wait times for food.
We weren't that impressed by the service. We were told that we didn't qualify for the free champagne in the open table offer as we hadn't clicked the right button when booking (watch out for that!). We got the champagne but we felt our waiter was rather rude about it and it rather spoiled the evening. The food was good though.
Absolutely fabulous. The Melody is a very classy restaurant.
Great historic building and beautiful restsurant tucked away with tasteful decor. Lovely wholesome food and a really festive feel. Waiting service was prompt and the restaurant even sent out a special bday designed plate for my sister. Small and initimate but really nice

Yes, you can generally book this restaurant by choosing the date, time and party size on OpenTable. Due to local restrictions, this restaurant may not be accepting bookings at the moment.
