I felt the service was great however the food was subpar. We were celebrating an anniversary and do not get to go out much so we were really looking forward to this date night. Unfortunately, our entrees were not very good at all. When a manager came by our table to check on us, I let him know that our food was not all that great and there was not much of a reaction so I kept quiet. I wish we would have had a better experience because I was hoping it would be our "go to" place for special occasions:(

I previously enjoyed Melting Pot, but my experience this time was poor. The hostesses were indifferent and inattentive. The booth wasn’t as private as I had at their previous location. The power to our cooktop was flaky, requiring us all to exit the booth at one point so our waiter could fiddle with the power cord. The mocktails they brought for the kids weren’t fun, coming without any fruit or umbrellas or the like . The waiter had a cold and plowed through his comments while coughing and sniffing over our table. He was also more intrusive than I would prefer. Finally, the food itself wasn’t as tasty as I’ve had in the past. Melting Pot has always been such a fun and intimate experience, worth the premium price. This visit really soured me on the place.

Hi Richard, So sorry to hear that your experience was lackluster compared to before. I just wanted to reach out to you to thank you for your feedback as well as to assure you that we've taken an extensive look at all of our cook tops to ensure such a problem does not arise again. We did some investigating and intend to counsel your server on his conduct as we have with our hospitality specialists. We do hope to have you back in the future to give us another try. Best, Erin Shelton Manager

Everything was great. Food was fantastic. Server was outstanding. Food took a little long to come out, but otherwise a great dining experience. I will come back again and again.

Great experience at the Melting Pot. Food was excellent, service was great. Kids ages 11 and 14 loved it. Fun family dinner option where you have plenty of time to talk -- spent 2+ hours for 3 courses. Dinner was a little pricey but worth the experience. Reston location had half price bottles of wine on Wed night which was nice. Kids shared an entree and each had a full cheese and dessert course - was more than enough for them. Favorites were spinach artichoke cheese dip, filet minion, potstickers, and milk chocolate dessert pot. We didn't upgrade the dessert dippers and still had more than enough. Looking forward to another visit in the future.

This is my eight year old's favorite restaurant. Relax and plan to spend a long time at dinner (about 2.5 hours) if you order the four-course menu.

We came here on Father's Day and glad we did. The food was outstanding and we had great service. They had a decent priced special for Father's Day and I'm happy that I selected this for my meal. Everything was great!

Our waiter was very good however he was assigned way too many tables. He was doing his best however it took way to long to attend to requests. Way too long since we were (as most do) spending several hundred bucks there. And this was on a Tuesday night!!

We had dinner at your restaurant on Saturday 6/8 with our daughter and four of her friends to celebrate her birthday. We had requested the birthday package with balloons for the table and a photo. When we arrived at the table, the balloons weren't there - the hostess went back to get them. The picture wasn't available, either - our waiter (Zach) asked us to provide our email address so it could be sent to us, but we still haven't received it.

The food was good as always, but there were very long delays between courses which we've never experienced at any Melting Pot. Can't blame Zach (who was very friendly) because it may not have been his fault. We all ordered the four-course meal but our daughter and friends (at a different table than ours) were confused. Only two ordered the salad, and at least some of them thought we had to pay extra for that so didn't order one. Of course, these were part of the four-course package price, so we ended up paying for them.

Our favorite course is the cheese fondue so we were very disappointed to receive such a small serving of bread - we had to ask for more since there was still half a pot of cheese left - but it took a while to get it. When we made the reservation, we were told that we could ask that certain menu items be made unavailable to the girls to keep the price down - so we said "no lobster". Yet two of the girls ordered the lobster, so I guess the message didn't get to Zach. That drove the price up a bit.

We are hoping this was just an anomaly and next time things will be better. We would be reluctant to schedule another birthday or any big event at Melting Pot given this somewhat disappointing experience. $380 is a lot to spend on a dinner that had this many problems.

Sadly, this was the WORST experience we had at the Melting Pot. We frequent the Reston Melting Pot for celebratory dinners, however, the service was horrible on this particular occasion. I would have normally spoken to the manager when having such a poor experience, however, we were with some friends and did not want to make a scene. We sat without drink refills for a long time, even after asking for them. We sat in front of dirty dinner dishes while our server tended to the tables around us. The manager seeing that we sat came and took one of the cooking pots, but the other one sat boiling away, until finally the manager noticed we were STILL sitting in front of it, and took it. The server was not very friendly or attentive, very different from other experiences here. For the ridiculous amount of money that we dropped with 7 people, we should have had some better service, for sure.

We went here for our Anniversary and we were pleasantly greeted and taken to our table. This was our first time at this location and they were so friendly, the food was good, and when I accidentally left without my AMEX, the manager called and let me know before we even got to the parking lot. Of course, since I didn’t recognize his number, I let the call go to voicemail. I noticed when we got home that I had a voice mail. So back to the restaurant I went. The complimentary champagne and the beautifully decorated plate wishing us a happy anniversary was an excellent end to the evening.

I like to bring the family to this place for special occasions such as birthdays, when my son wins a soccer tournament, etc. The thing that always trips us up is the ordering process because it's so dark in this place that I can't read the menu and when you have kids at the it's hard to spend time reading. Overall, though, we love coming here and the kids are always begging us to come back.

We had a wonderful time at the "Enchanted Afternoon" event at the Melting Pot. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and accommodating. Our server, LaTifah, was exceptional! She went out of her way to make sure my family had a wonderful experience. She was great with my kids and even brought out special items for them to eat with the fondue and was cautious regarding my daughter's food allergies.

My husband is handicapped so a booth does not work for him. We were put in a dark corner of the bar where he had great difficulty getting in and out of the chair. This restaurant needs to become more adaptive for the handicapped. The waiter was very attentive, however he recommended we try the grill, it was his favorite. The grill is too small for 4 people. The flavor of the food cooked on the grill was very good, but it took a very long time to cook for 4 people on such a small area. We ended up changing over to the fondue. The food was very good.

Most importantly, the food is excellent, and they bring LOTS of it. My wife and I cannot finish a single four course made for one person, let alone one each.

Further, the ambiance is nice; they don't blast loud music. The servers are all very kind and great at their job, and seem like genuinely nice people.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who asked!

Party of 5 seated at two tables intended to fit 2. Not enough space to fit all the plates, trays, glasses, etc. Had to stand up occasionally to reach the pots. Dimly lit and hard to see menu, which should be simplified from both an offerings and pricing perspective. Bums rush once the official table turning time arrived. As always, pricey.

Our server seemed annoyed that we ordered 3 cheese courses. I'm sorry, that's what we wanted to eat. He didn't have to complain about it to us. We especially chose to go when we were likely to be one of the only tables in the restaurant because all that tableside stuff would take time. We bought a bottle of wine and everything.

Arrived on time for our reservation. Watched as other families who arrived after us receive all of their courses, including main courses, and finished before we received our main course. Long delay supposedly due to a snafu in the kitchen. Didn’t receive updates and were left to wonder as to what was happening. Took 1.5 hours to receive our main course - more time than we expected. Food was good.

I was seated promptly around 8pm. The cheese was made about 8:30 which at no time was my coke refilled the entire evening. Probably around 9 the salads arrived. I told the waiter that we had to finished around 10:20 because of prior commitments. We received our entrees close to 9:30, so we had to rush the cooking process because we still had to do the fondue with chocolate. That was made around 10 which was totally rushed and I had to seek the waiter for my check. This is probably my worst experience at the Melting Pot. I don't blame the restaurant. I just had bad service.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Melting Pot Reston and enjoyed it very much. The highlight of our visit was our server Kaziah. She was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and personable. The food was very good also. We like to get the salad, cheese, and dessert dishes. No entrees. Just enough food for the two of us and the drinks were outstanding.

We have eaten in many Melting Pot restaurants all over the country and have never had such bad service. We barely saw our server. She was extremely slow and rarely checked back. We had also asked for the balloon package as we were celebrating a 50th birthday with some close friends. The balloons never materialized even though my husband went up to the front desk to ask about it after we ordered. It was a disappointing evening. Not at all what we expected.
