The Mendip Inn
Styled by the talented team behind Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, The Mendip Inn takes the concept of a great British pub and adds an exciting, contemporary style of its own without losing that sense of welcome you get at the very best pubs.
As well as the A La Carte menu, we also offer the best Sunday lunch in Mendip and a children’s menu. Our menus offer wide range of options for vegetarians.

A disappointing Sunday roast, poor value for money.
Very pleasant lunch that helped to make the day special
Visited at lunchtime, a group of 4 adults concerns of Covid-19 were beginning, so may be reason why not very busy. Staff were welcoming, good menu and food very tasty and freshly cooked. Woodburner was lit, so felt warm and inviting. Recommended.
Very nice evening out with friends and lovely food as well
We only booked our table on Sunday morning, but it was ready waiting for us when we arrived. The staff were polite and friendly and the menu had a good variety of dishes on it. Most of our party had the wild boar terrine to start, which was delicious and the salt and pepper squid were crispy and perfectly cooked. Between us for our main course we had the roast beef, scampi and chips, pork and apple burger, vegetable pasta and a children's pasta. All our food was freshly cooked, tasty and a generous size. We did not have any puddings as we were all rather full. Overall the pub was very good value and even though my mum has a citrus allergy and often finds eating out problematic, she was not made to feel awkward. We will definitely visit again.
Lovley food, however the pub was cold which made it unpleasant to sit still and eat a meal
Mendip Inn is now in our top 3 out for 15 local places for a brilliant Sunday lunch.
Great food, only thing could be better if more gravy available
Great place good food great selection of beers and wine
I would recommend the Mendip Inn because the service was second to none and the food was served promptly and tasted great
A very friendly country pub with lovely food. We stayed two nights with very good breakfasts both mornings.
A pleasant Monday evening meal. Attentive and pleasant staff.
Roast beef very disappointing. Reheating pre sliced (possible pre packed topside ) was not what I expected.
The smell of the gents toilets were wonderful too whilst eating.
Never have a bad meal here! Lovely with children, portions are good and food is tasty!!!
Food was ok if not exciting, but service was truly slow. Would not go again.
Amazing roast and really friendly staff despite the 2 children and 1 baby in our party making lots of noise and mess!
Want to come back to try more of the menu but can definitely recommend the roast and desserts!
Thank you for having us!
Staff was very attentive, even though their was a huge group in the restaurant as well. Food came out fairly quick and taste was great. We will definitely go again
The food was very bland and tasteless very disappointed, will not come again.
Perfect, good food well served and presented. Will definitely go back
I felt the service was good, but we came for Wednesday steak night which was advertised on the website and also on the menu but in actual fact had been discontinued and this was no longer a thing. We went for steaks anyway as that is what we came for but our steaks were both missing the confit tomato and mushroom, however the table next to us had both on their plate. Charging £3 for peppercorn sauce is extortionate prices, it is not worth that in any shape or form. I spent £6 just on sauce. Also the nachos we ordered were poor quality, £9 for some tortillas covered in mozzarella and some tiny not even homemade pots of guacamole, sour cream and salsa. Our desserts were the worst part of the meal, the sticky toffee had been re heated for too long and was chewy and dry, not enough sauce either. And the blood orange set cream that was supposed to come with orange segments had actually come with chopped mixed peel which is wholly unacceptable. The set cream was small, far too set and such poor quality for £7! I love the whole idea of the Mendip inn, but the quality is very poor. We could have gone to a Michelin star or rosette for the prices we paid that night. I didn’t complain at the time as the waitress was very young and I didn't want to make her night rubbish, but I really regret paying £60 for the quality that we got that night.
Relaxed environment with great food and a cracking roast!
Going again into 2weeks. Most helpful with the grandchildren
Amazing food! I had the falafel roast, and brownie for after. Both food so so incredible! Family also all had the most wonderful meals! Would 100% recommend and would definitely go again! (Price is fair and certainly worth the treat of how good the food tastes!)
We had an excellent menu with many gluten free options and the waiter even arranged for me to have my chicken off the bone (breast). He was very polite, helpful, clean and tidy. The price is fair for very tastey, non chain food. I highly recommend The Mendip Inn
FWe (2) visited on a quiet evening the night before NYE. Food was excellent and service prompt and friendly. Will be back.
A lovely Christmas Meal with my husband. I had the vegetarian – to start the delicious Camembert, with a beautiful Gooseberry compote followed by Savoy Cabbage leaves stuffed with Butternut Squash with roast trimmings, to finish Poached Autumn fruits. The staff were efficient, polite and friendly. Thank you.
Quick service and the staff were very pleasant
We had an excellent lunch from the main menu. Service was prompt and the staff were pleasant and helpful.
Lovely place however very average food, not reflective for the price I feel! Nice friendly staff though...
We had a good welcome, food came very quickly, good service. Would recommend.
Service was a let down , forgotten drink, several staff waited our table but didn’t talk to each other.hence we had to repeat ourselves several times. One male staff addressed my wife as ‘darling’ not on that.
Second visit in as many months excellent service and a good wine and vegan menu
only one downside Car park needs to be bigger
One of my favourite places to eat. Staff very welcoming and helpful and the food is amazing
A lovely friendly pub with exceptional service and food
Great food and great staff! Had lovely nachos to start and fish cakes for main. Was cooked lovely x
Good food in a convenient location for our road trip.
Very good menu choice, good food, good prices, good location
DIDNT LIKE THE FACT THAT THERE WAS A £20 TAX ADDED TO THE BILL ….If this was for the service then I would like to be asked first.
I don’t visit this pub often but have always regarded it as a welcoming stop when travelling that way. Sadly on this occasion the welcome wasn’t particularly warm. We waited well in excess of 5 minutes to even be greeted and then longer to be served. Staff seemed distracted and lacking in patience. We weren’t shown to a table nor did we have the different menu options explained to us. It was a case of ‘sit over there or over there’ despite an advance booking. The pub wasn’t overly busy so would have expected a more personable service.
The food was adequate but not overwhelming.
