The Mendip Inn
Styled by the talented team behind Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, The Mendip Inn takes the concept of a great British pub and adds an exciting, contemporary style of its own without losing that sense of welcome you get at the very best pubs.

Relaxed environment with great food and a cracking roast!
Going again into 2weeks. Most helpful with the grandchildren
Amazing food! I had the falafel roast, and brownie for after. Both food so so incredible! Family also all had the most wonderful meals! Would 100% recommend and would definitely go again! (Price is fair and certainly worth the treat of how good the food tastes!)
We had an excellent menu with many gluten free options and the waiter even arranged for me to have my chicken off the bone (breast). He was very polite, helpful, clean and tidy. The price is fair for very tastey, non chain food. I highly recommend The Mendip Inn
FWe (2) visited on a quiet evening the night before NYE. Food was excellent and service prompt and friendly. Will be back.
A lovely Christmas Meal with my husband. I had the vegetarian – to start the delicious Camembert, with a beautiful Gooseberry compote followed by Savoy Cabbage leaves stuffed with Butternut Squash with roast trimmings, to finish Poached Autumn fruits. The staff were efficient, polite and friendly. Thank you.
Quick service and the staff were very pleasant
We had an excellent lunch from the main menu. Service was prompt and the staff were pleasant and helpful.
Lovely place however very average food, not reflective for the price I feel! Nice friendly staff though...
We had a good welcome, food came very quickly, good service. Would recommend.
Service was a let down , forgotten drink, several staff waited our table but didn’t talk to each other.hence we had to repeat ourselves several times. One male staff addressed my wife as ‘darling’ not on that.
Second visit in as many months excellent service and a good wine and vegan menu
only one downside Car park needs to be bigger
One of my favourite places to eat. Staff very welcoming and helpful and the food is amazing
A lovely friendly pub with exceptional service and food
Great food and great staff! Had lovely nachos to start and fish cakes for main. Was cooked lovely x
Good food in a convenient location for our road trip.
Very good menu choice, good food, good prices, good location
DIDNT LIKE THE FACT THAT THERE WAS A £20 TAX ADDED TO THE BILL ….If this was for the service then I would like to be asked first.
I don’t visit this pub often but have always regarded it as a welcoming stop when travelling that way. Sadly on this occasion the welcome wasn’t particularly warm. We waited well in excess of 5 minutes to even be greeted and then longer to be served. Staff seemed distracted and lacking in patience. We weren’t shown to a table nor did we have the different menu options explained to us. It was a case of ‘sit over there or over there’ despite an advance booking. The pub wasn’t overly busy so would have expected a more personable service.
The food was adequate but not overwhelming.
My son’s 17th Birthday
I booked a table for two people to have roast dinner for Sunday because we saw on the menu that they do a vegetarian roast (falafel), so was excited to try. We checked the menu again the day before to ensure it was still on there and it was. Arrived on time for the booking, but nobody came to greet us despite the restaurant not looking very busy. A short-haired lady avoided eye contact with us complately, so we had to go to the bar area to get attention. We were finally acknowledged and shown to our table. We had to go and find menus ourselves because nobody brought any over to us. The falafel roast was no longer on the menu, so we checked with the waitress and she reassured us with confidence the kitchen was able to serve this. Turned out they just "sold out" and offered to add more veg instead. This was the first time we ever came to the Mendip Inn, but we won't be returning because the service was awful, there were dirty crockery everywhere and other loud customers made the short 10-minute experience very poor.
Great food & good service will definitely go back & recommend to others.
We all agreed our Sunday roast beef was nice would have preferred vegetables on a separate dish to help ourselves maybe with a bit more choice, and two Yorkshire puddings rather than just the one. Dessert was just the right size. Would visit again.
Sunday lunch! Wow, The Mendip Trio is a must, great service, great house red (Merlot).
Make sure you save some time for short nap after your visit.
Will be visiting again very soon!
Lovely quiet pub, serving excellent food and drink. Service was superb and will definitely be returning
The second time we’ve been to the mendip. We meet our friends here as a half way point they come from Bristol and we come from Yeovil’. We’ve only ever had roast on a Sunday both times but both occasions it’s been delicious. The brisket of beef is mouth watering as is the sticky toffee pudding. We’ve already booked to come back in new year.
The roast dinner was really nice, we had a table by the window which was good.
Excellent as always! Great service, food and staff! Always our first choice!
Lovely place to eat and drink. Can’t wait to bring up some friends and family soon xx
Friendly and helpful staff great food in a relaxed atmosphere
The food was good and there was a nice atmosphere in there for Sunday Lunch.
Superb food, friendly and helpful stall, great ambiance. Definitely return
I booked through opentable some time ago as the restaurant was recommended to me I had my family down from London and are always looking for new places to go however when we arrived it was extremely busy it was difficult to find anywhere to park and it was fairly noisy when we arrived however it was to an except-able level. We were told we had to wait 40mins for food as they were busy I joked that was fine if they offered us a free drink but they didn’t and felt they should have also the food was not all that good average I’d say and the portions were massive I know some people like this but it just puts me off more than anything the coke I ordered which was in a glass bottle was flat so I had to complain about that so overall I wasn’t impressed at all and won’t be returning.
Really enjoyed our first visit here. A really lovely atmosphere & we loved the log fire keep us warm on a horrible day. Food was great too. Would definitely recommend.
Front of house staff very friendly and helpful. Food was very good as too was the service
Celebrated my husband's birthday with friends who had not been before.
Enjoyed the evening very much with lovely food and friendly staff.
Our friends said they will be returning again.
Amazing food! The best Sunday roast dinner we’ve ever had. The meat was cooked to perfection. Excellent prices too.
Sunday roast tasted good but portion sizes not so good. A child portion had two potatoes which was fine but the adult portion had the same amount! The two men in our party were not impressed! Not very good value for money.
Food is always superb, as are the staff. Will be bringing family to visit in a few weeks.
