Traditional Sunday Lunch is a fantastic family experience with a lively atmosphere .
To accompany your meal the bar has an exciting range of spirits, some great local cask ales and exceptional wines including a large selection by the glass. Barista coffees and whole leaf teas finish your meal in style.
Biggest roast in the world!
This was an excellent birthday meal out for my wife and 2 grown children. Nothing could be faulted.
Really good service, lovely meal and beautiful environment - nice and Christmassy
Excellent place to eat ordered 10 oz rib eye
which was nice but would have been better
with real handmade chips especially at nearly £24
Very pleasant food, buzzy environment, service was ok but a little slow at times
Perfect! Such a good value roast! We will be back very soon :)
Our favourite for Sunday lunch. He eats meat: I don't, so doing a proper lunch at home doesn't happen... The Met is our occasional Sunday treat, when we want our individual meals done properly. Proper lush!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Everything was cooked beautifully and was really tasty.
Great Sunday lunch and very buzzy atmosphere in the pub. We had a nice table but suspect some could be pretty noisy and could have done with the pub being a bit warmer although to be fair it speaks very cold when we went
Very good the only problem is that they want to pick up your plate before you have finished.
The food was poor and in the case of the calzone, badly burnt. Expected much better. Service was very good
Great service and quality of food and a lovely place to lunch great decor too
Sunday lunch
Nice atmosphere
Friendly efficient service
A bit noisy and dislike the big TVs
The good was amazing and the waitress lovely
Nice food, friendly staff! Great place for families and meet friends
Absolutely delicious food, lovely staff, just unfortunately extremely noisy. It is a bit noisy anyway which is fine but a group of 8 men were just ridiculously loud, i do appreciate the staff did ask them to quieten down though!
Nice food made to a high standard from local suppliers. Would definitely recommend for nice decor and good atmosphere.
Excellent food and service
Lovely food consistently good Sunday roasts and delicious puddings
We really impressed with the ambience and layout of the Metropolitan. The service was attentive and friendly.
All of our main courses were delicious and beautifully cooked.
My only real gripe was the dessert. It was a little tasteless, sloppy and disproportioned.
Other than that though, our meal was delicious and we will definitely be back! Thank you.
Always great atmosphere, Sunday dinner was excellent.
Really good
Delicious and large portions. Really good service thanks again!
We all had Sunday lunch, which was tepid since we were out with friends we did not want to send the food back, it was just very average
Lovely roast! Amazing burger! Friendly staff :) Would return!
Meal was, as good as always. The braved beef was superb and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Always have a good time here as the food is always good.
Beautiful setting with great food, service was a little slow despite it not being busy but id definitely want to go back
Excellent as usual, lovely friendly efficient staff, especially the barman in the pub part with dark hair & glasses 5*
Outstanding food, especially the vegetarian roast (aubergine, lentils and hazelnuts). Brownies also outstanding. Friendly smiley staff. Only the roast potatoes (dry and hard) were disappointing.
The service was great and the staff friendly and welcoming, such a nice change to see. My friends loved the decor and ambience. We were impressed with the meal particularly the roast dinner. Slightly diappointed with the desserts, the treacle pudding didn't really taste of treacle, more like chocolate sponge with treacle sauce. But loved the retro baked Alaska with the fruity twist.
Lovely food
Thanks for reviewing, we're so pleased you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon.
Great evening
Quick and friendly service. Food good really liked the different types of vegetables . Only downside was the Yorkshire puddings were very big which made them taste of cardboard, also a little more gravy would of been nice.
Amazing Sunday roast - great veg option and huge portion size
Sunday roast. Food wasn’t very warm, potatoes not very crispy, generous portions. Tables a bit cramped and close together, noisy.
Always good.
We took an elderly couple for lunch. It was his birthday. She is very deaf and very fussy. We sat in the restaurant at a window seat so it was light The noise level was low, the service was relaxed but very efficient.
We all enjoyed it!
I like the Met lot. !!! It’s asked me to write 50 characters so have added a few more.
The food was excellent, our server was very pleasant and helpful
The bar service was slower than I would have liked but the food and service was excellent.
